Arthur Gunn Moves The Judges With 'Have You Ever Seen The Rain' Audition

The judges on American Idol are so moved by Arthur Gunn’s amazing audition where he sang ‘Have You Ever Seen the Rain’ by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Arthur Gunn’s given name is Dibesh, which means light, but he chose to use Arthur Gunn as his stage name. He is 21 years old and has been living in Wichita, Kansas with his family for five years. Originally, Arthur was born in Nepal and has a great love for his homeland. “I loved growing up in Nepal,” he says. “Nepal is a very beautiful country. You go up mountains and hills everywhere. It is a wonderful place.” This is the place where his love of music began. “Music has always been my thing since I was a kid. I got my first guitar from my mom, and then I started to sing along to any song I would hear on the radio or TV. That’s when the dream started,” he shares. “After high school, I moved to America, because it’s the land of great opportunity.” Once he got to Kansas, Arthur started to get into bluegrass and country music. “I hadn’t listened to that kind of music before, but I pulled toward it,” he explains. “It was magnetic.” Right before his audition, Arthur shared that he was very excited but also a bit nervous. “To be performing on American Idol, it is a big deal,” he says. “So, this is my chance to make my American dream come true.” Once he gets into the audition room and sings for Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie, he blows them all away with his powerful and soulful voice. The judges are clearly impressed with the talent that Arthur has. “You have such a great storyteller voice, and I’m really excited for you,” says Katy Perry. “Arthur, you’re a Rockstar!” Luke Bryan even asks Arthur if he wants to open up for his upcoming show in two weeks and tells him how he is such a unique artist. “I want you to understand something. You have no idea what this journey is going to be for you,” Lionel Richie says to Arthur as he is giving him a hug after he finishes his audition. “God bless you. You are the story that we need to tell.” It is clear how moved the judges were by this performance, and they cannot wait to see more of Arthur Gunn in Hollywood.

Over Confident Singer Nick Merico Narrowly Makes It With 'You Say' Audition

American Idol hopeful Nick Merico almost didn’t make it to Hollywood after his ego got in the way. We first met this 23-year-old last season when he impressed the judges with his charm and musical. Even though Nick earned a ticket to Hollywood, he ultimately backed out. Now, he’s hoping to win over the judges again and prove that he has what it takes to be the next American Idol. After sitting at the piano and belting out the lyrics to ‘You Say’ by Lauren Daigle, the judges had mixed reviews. Katy Perry started off by saying, “I just have this feeling that you think that you’re too good for us.” She cautioned the young singer to make sure that his ego doesn’t get in the way of his future in music. Judge Luke Bryan, on the other hand, said that Nick had all the makings of an American Idol and should be going to Hollywood. But it was Lionel Ritchie’s comments that stopped everyone in their tracks. “Nick, we have a problem. We have a big problem, honestly, because I don’t like you.” That’s when Lionel turned the tables and asked Nick how that made him feel because “I want you to understand what it feels like when people don’t adore you.” After some sound advice from all three of the judges, Nick was voted through to Hollywood. Now, only time will tell if he truly has what it takes to keep his ego in check and conquer the American Idol stage.

Luke Bryan Says Louis Knight Might Be The Biggest Star Ever On American Idol

American Idol might have found their newest champion in aspiring artist Louis Knight. This 19-year-old singer-songwriter had all the judges in awe after performing his original song ‘Change.’ Louis Knight was born in England, but moved to Philadelphia at the age of ten. It was there that he and his brother started to play soccer and met their new friend, Russell. Russell became a part of the family and always encouraged Louis to create music. Sadly, Russell took his life and Louis and his entire family heavily felt the loss. That’s when Louis decided to put his emotions into song and wrote ‘Change.’ While sitting at the piano, he belted out these heartfelt words for the panel of judges. “I'm lucky to live another day But how would you feel if I showed you my mistakes? And what if I learnt to walk away? See, I'm concerned it'll all go to waste It's time for change” As soon as the performance was over, judge Luke Bryan had a huge statement to make. “I think you might be the biggest star we’ve ever had on American Idol.” Both Katy Perry and Lionel Ritchie agreed that Louis had something special. Lionel said, “From a songwriter, you’re onto something big.” As he received a unanimous vote to move on to the Hollywood round, Louis couldn’t help but think of Russell. “Russell would be absolutely thrilled. I think he’d be looking down and he’d be smiling. He’d be really proud.” What a bright, young star.

Street Busker Starts A Dance Party In The Middle Of A London Train Station

In this fun video, an energetic street busker starts a dance party in the middle of a London train station. “Repeat after me!” the street busker yells over the crowd. He then proceeds to sing the song ‘Twist and Shout’ by The Beatles, and everyone around him sings along as well. “Shake it up, baby, now Twist and shout Come on, come on, come, come on, baby, now Come on and work it on out” As he’s singing, a large crowd of people can be seen laughing and dancing with each other around the train station. “You know you twist so fine; you know you twist so good,” the street busker continues. “You really got me going now, just like I knew you would!” The crowd continues to dance around while the street busker transitions into singing ‘Labamba’ by Los Lobos. “Para bailar la bamba Para bailar la bamba se necesita una poca de gracia Una poca de gracia pa' mi pa' ti y arriba y arriba” During his performance, the people dancing in the area started making a large conga line. They are jumping around, waving their hands, and moving their bodies together. The place is filled with so many smiles and so much laughter. They are having such a fun time and the energy is contagious. What an amazing atmosphere! People are clearly filled with joy by the dance party that emerged here, and they are filming the special occurrence on their phones. This beautiful video shows how music can bring people together. And sometimes in the middle of ordinary life, like getting on a train to commute around a city, wonderful things can happen, like a giant dance party with a bunch of strangers! Just like it says in Ecclesiastes 3:4, there is a time for everything. “A time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance.”

Francisco Martin Overcomes Extreme Nerves To Land His Ticket To Hollywood

American Idol hopeful Francisco Martin overcame the nerves to impress the judges with his ‘Alaska’ audition. 18-year-old Francisco Martin was full of nerves as he sat in front of the camera. This pre-law college student has always had a love for music, but he struggled with self-confidence. Now, he’s trying to put all of the negative thoughts aside as he follows his dreams to pursue a career as a musician. But, as soon as he stepped up to the judges, they could sense his overwhelming fear. That’s when Luke Bryan and Lionel Ritchie stepped away from their table to give Francisco a quick pep talk. After the chance to calm down, Francisco continued on with his audition by singing ‘Alaska’ by Maggie Rogers. His powerful vocals immediately caught the attention of the judges with Katy Perry saying, “You’ve got an incredible voice.” After learning that Francisco writes his own music, the judges asked to hear a snippet of one of his songs. From that moment, this future star completely won over the judges. Lionel Ritchie praised Francisco for overcoming the nerves and blowing them away. He said, “I’m so happy to see you.” After an unanimous vote to send Francisco to Hollywood, the young man was nearly in tears. He was so grateful for the opportunity and the chance to follow his real passion in life. But before he left, Luke gave Francisco one comical piece of advice. Luke said, “We’re gonna recommend a no-caffeine diet for you.” Who else is looking forward to seeing this guy in Hollywood?

Garbage Man Doug Kiker Brings The Tears With Rascal Flatts Song

Garbage man Doug Kiker brought judge Katy Perry to tears with his heartfelt rendition of ‘Bless The Broken Road’ from Rascal Flatts. This season of American Idol is off to an incredible start with hopefuls from all around the country vying for a chance to win their ticket to Hollywood. With only a few shows under our belt, there are already some notable front-runners. And Doug Kiker might be the most memorable contestant so far. Doug doesn’t look like your typical American Idol. A garbage man by day, Doug has no formal training or experience singing in front of a crowd. That’s when judge Lionel Ritchie encouraged the young man to warm up his vocals before starting his audition. Even though Doug was a bit confused, host Ryan Seacrest helped show him the ropes. About fifteen minutes later, Doug returned to the stage for his big moment. Without any musical backing, he belted out the lyrics to ‘Bless The Broken Road’ from country group Rascal Flatts. From the minute he started singing, everyone could tell that Doug was a star. Judge Luke Bryan even came from behind the desk to sit at the piano and coach Doug on a few notes. Their impromptu duet brought tears to fellow judge Katy Perry. All three judges knew that there was something special about this young man. As everyone gathered around to give Doug the good news, Katy gave him some powerful words of wisdom. “You just stay who you are and you’re going to go so far.” I cannot wait to see what this inspiring man does in Hollywood.

Broadway Violinist Performs In Animal Shelters For Abused Dogs

In this heartwarming video, a Broadway violinist shares about his love of performing in animal shelters for abused dogs. Music is powerful and it is definitely a point of connection for some people. “One of the greatest, fulling moments for us as musicians is when we’re on the stage and we feel that connection with the audience. It’s unspoken, it can’t be put into words,” shares Marin, who volunteers at his local shelter where he plays for the animals. “And I feel the same kind of connection with the animals that I play for. I feel a connection with them no less than the kind of connection I feel with an audience when I’m on stage. In fact, in some ways, the bond may be even stronger.” The program that Martin volunteers for is designed to socialize and rehabilitate abused animals. “The idea is to begin the recovery and not only heal the physical wounds but the emotional wounds as well,” Martin explains. “Dogs become custom to having people around that are kind to them.” According to the shelter, the program seems to be working. “You can see it just by watching the animals respond to him, and that’s a success,” shares one of the employees at the shelter. “All those small moments, if you look at them cumulatively over time, all the animals that he’s played for that have moved through the floors here and have moved into their adoptive homes, that’s a success.” Playing for the animals has also been therapeutic for Martin, as he says he’s able to perform in a stress-free environment. “As a professional musician, it can be daunting and stressful at times. There may be a critic in the audience listening and taking notes and writing up a review for the next day,” Martins says. “The reviews that I’ve gotten at the ASPCA are pretty much wagging of tails and kisses through the keyhole when I pass the guys treats after I finish playing for them. It’s just the best feeling.” It's wonderful to see Martin using his musical talents to show these adorable animals some love and kindness!

Quick-Thinking Man Saves Texting Woman From Being Hit By A Car

Thanks to this quick-thinking man, one distracted woman was saved from being hit by a car. We have all seen it before. People out and about walking with their heads looking down at their phones. Both the young and the old can be seen doing it – playing games, texting, or posting on social media when they are walking around in crowds or about to cross a busy intersection. This can leave them vulnerable to their surroundings when they are not paying attention. That is exactly what happened in this interaction that was caught on video by a parked car’s dash cam. The woman can be seen with her face down and headphones on as she is about to cross the street in downtown Cincinnati. Without looking up before crossing the street, she heads straight into oncoming traffic. That’s where 25-year-old Chris Allen steps in. “I was trying to wave to her,” Chris says. “She couldn’t hear me obviously, so I ran out and just kind of pulled her back. After all that happened, she was kind of in shock.” Thankfully, God had Chris in the right place at the right time! Because of his quick moves, he was able to steer the woman away from the oncoming car. If he had not been there, it could have turned into a pretty scary accident. After her initial shock, the woman thanked Chris profusely before the two parted ways and went about their day. Let this be a reminder to you and your loved ones: remember to put your phone away when walking around. Distracted walkers seem to be everywhere, and they are putting themselves and others in danger. Just listen to the sensible advice that Chris shared after saving that woman. “Stay off your phone when walking,” he says. “Your safety is everything.”

Pianist Performs Beethoven For 61-Year-Old Rescue Elephant

British pianist Paul Barton performs Beethoven’s ‘Moonlight Sonata’ for a 61-year-old rescue elephant. Elephants are truly one of the most majestic creatures on this earth. In fact, they are the largest mammals on land. While some people may think that these large animals are scary or dangerous, that is not always the case. And musician and pianist Paul Barton knows just how compassionate and sweet these gentle giants can truly be. Paul Barton fell in love with elephants back in 1996 when he traveled to Thailand with his wife. Ever since then, he has made it part of his mission to help rehabilitate elephants at Elephant World sanctuary. Paul previously worked with blind children utilizing music therapy. He felt that music could also be used to communicate with elephants. And when Paul recorded himself playing the piano for a blind elephant named Lam Duan, the video went viral. Now, Paul is back at Elephant World for an incredible performance of Beethoven’s ‘Moonlight Sonata’ for Mongkol. According to Paul’s video, Mongkol is a former logging elephant. “His body shape is deformed through hard labor, he lost his right eye and tusk in this brutal logging practice. Mongkol was rescued and brought to Elephants World to spend the rest of his days relaxing peacefully in freedom by the River Kwai.” And now, Mongkol has the opportunity to rest and relax as Paul skillfully plays the piano. It is so incredible to see someone like Paul use his talents to help these rescue animals. Who else is in awe right now?
