A Prayer for When Life Seems Too Hard

There are seasons in life when everything feels overwhelming — family struggles, financial pressures, illness, or work challenges. As our daily prayer and devotional remind us, in those moments, even getting out of bed can feel like too much. But God never intended for us to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders. Instead, He invites us to lean on Him, to trust Him fully, and to remember His goodness. Lynette Kittle encourages us that when life feels unbearable, we can take intentional steps to anchor ourselves in God’s truth: remembering His past faithfulness, staying persistent in prayer, feeding our souls with Scripture, and reaching out to encourage others. These small but powerful practices help lift our eyes off the heaviness and fix them back on the One who carries us. God’s Word promises that He is our Savior, our hope, and our strength. Even when life seems too hard, He is with us, sustaining us moment by moment. Your Daily Bible Reading: "Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God." – Psalm 43:5

Releasing Summer's Bittersweet End | Your Nightly Prayer

Every day brings choices—some small, some life-changing. Whether you're deciding how to respond in a conversation, which path to take in your career, or how to manage today’s challenges, God promises to give wisdom to those who ask Him. His Spirit leads us not by fear or confusion, but by peace, clarity, and truth. 📖 “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” — James 1:5 📖 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding…” — Proverbs 3:5–6 📖 “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’” — Isaiah 30:21 Today’s prayer helps you surrender your decisions—big and small—to God’s guidance. When we let go of control and lean into His wisdom, we can move forward with peace and confidence.

How to Hold onto Hope When Summer Didn't Heal You

Summer often carries our hopes for refreshment and breakthrough. As our nightly prayer and devotional remind us, we imagine lighter days, long-awaited healing, or answers to prayers we’ve been carrying. But sometimes, when the season ends, we realize the things we longed for haven’t changed. David knew what it was like to cry out and wait. In Psalm 40, he declares, “I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry.” His testimony reminds us that waiting doesn’t mean God is ignoring us. His timing isn’t determined by our schedules, but His promises assure us that He hears. If this summer left you still waiting, remember: silence is not absence. God uses waiting seasons to shape us, strengthen our faith, and prepare us for what’s ahead. The wait is never wasted. Your Evening Bible Verse: Psalm 40:1 "I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry." 🔗 Read more on BibleStudyTools.com 🙏 Your Nightly Prayer Heavenly Father, Tonight, I bring my waiting heart before You. Sometimes the silence feels heavy, and the delay makes me wonder if You see me. Remind me, as You did David, that You have heard my cry. Teach me to wait with faith instead of frustration, to trust Your timing even when it feels different than mine. Give me peace as I surrender my timetable to You and rest in the truth that You are faithful. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Prayer for Wisdom in Today's Decisions | Your Daily Prayer

Every day brings choices — some small, some life-altering. In today's prayer and devotional, we remember that whether it’s navigating relationships, parenting, work, or personal growth, our need for God’s wisdom is constant. Wisdom is more than human intelligence or cleverness. It is discernment rooted in God’s will, applied through a humble heart that acknowledges His way is always better. Amanda Idleman reminds us that our natural instinct is to react emotionally or cling to control. But God’s wisdom invites us to pause, pray, and listen. His way looks beyond the moment and steers us toward goodness, mercy, and Spirit-led living. Seeking wisdom requires intentional rhythms — morning prayers, moments of worship, pauses in the middle of our busyness — that anchor us in His guidance. God promises that wisdom is His gift to those who ask (James 1:5). As we cultivate hearts that surrender and listen, we learn to discern His gentle nudges, recognize His peace, and walk confidently in His direction.

A Prayer for Perfect Peace in an Anxious World | Your Daily Prayer

Peace often feels elusive in our fast-paced, worry-filled world. In your daily prayer and devotional, we consider how our thoughts can become like a traffic jam of fears about the future, regrets from the past, and anxieties over what feels out of our control. But Isaiah 26:3 offers us a different picture: perfect peace — God’s shalom shalom — a wholeness and calm that transcends chaos. Rachel Wojo, host of Untangling Prayer, reminds us that this peace isn’t found in perfect circumstances but in a steadfast mind fixed on God. When we choose to trust His unchanging character, rather than our shifting situations, we can anchor ourselves in His eternal stability. God is the Rock who never moves, and when our minds remain focused on Him, His peace guards our hearts, even in anxious moments. Perfect peace doesn’t come because life gets easier. It comes because we remember that God is greater than anything threatening our peace. Bible Reading: “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” – Isaiah 26:3 If you're looking for more guidance on anchoring your heart in God's faithful promises, Rachel invites you to check out her new prayer journal, Praying the Promises of God: 52 Week Guided Journal at https:promisesprayerjournal.com. You'll find encouragement and space to meditate on the promises that can transform your prayer life. Until next time, remember, God sees you, hears you, and He knows your needs. Key Takeaways Perfect peace is possible in Christ, even when life feels overwhelming. God’s peace is not based on circumstances but on trusting His unchanging nature. Choosing to fix our thoughts on God helps us take anxious thoughts captive. God is the Rock eternal — stable, steady, and always faithful. Let’s Pray Together Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise of perfect peace. When my mind races with worry, help me fix my thoughts on You instead of my fears. Remind me that You are my Rock — steady and unchanging when everything around me feels uncertain. Guard my heart and mind today with Your peace that surpasses understanding. I choose to trust You right now, in this moment. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Dad Delivers Baby in Hospital's Parking Lot After Child Can’t Wait Any Longer

A dad delivered his child in the hospital’s parking lot after the baby couldn’t wait any longer. Dad managed to stay calm, cool and collected during the stressful situation. Watch the short but powerful clip to see the father pull up in front of the hospital, but then have to deliver the baby because the little one refused to wait.

Children are a monumental blessing from the good Lord above. Every decent parent will wholeheartedly agree with that statement. Who could say otherwise? Children add an incredible amount of joy, happiness and love to every household. There is just no greater joy than being a parent and watching those youngsters grow up and explore the world.

However, while each child is an absolute blessing, they can also be strong-willed and a tad demanding at times, especially when they are infants. When they want or need something, because they have no other way to communicate, they will cry. If that need is not met soon enough, they will continue crying, and they don’t care what time it is or what you’re doing at that moment. They are on their own schedule, and you will adhere to it or else!

As a clip posted on YouTube shows, an infant’s demanding, impatient nature also includes when they are born. When they are ready to enter the world, they are coming, whether you are prepared for them or not.

The video shows a white Jeep pulling up in front of the hospital. The driver was bringing his wife, who was in labor, to the hospital, but as he opened the passenger door, he realized he was going to have to deliver the child himself. The clip points out that the child’s head had already started to emerge, so Dad did what he had to do.

The little one could not have waited a few more steps before Mom and Dad entered the hospital. The child was ready to make her grand entrance into the world.

Congrats, mom and dad!

Proverbs 22:6 “If a child is trained up in the right way, even when he is old, he will not be turned away from it.”

J.D. Greear on Resisting Polarization While Remaining Rooted in Christ

Pastor J.D. Greear opens up with Michael Foust to talk about his new book, "Everyday Revolutionary," and why Christians need a fresh vision for living faithfully in a divided culture. Greear shares how believers can resist political captivity, rise above polarization, and keep their witness centered on Jesus. He also unpacks lessons from the book of Daniel on standing strong with both grace and truth in a “negative world.” Plus, he points to signs of revival among Gen Z and what it could mean for the future of the church.

Surrendering a Heavy Conversation | Your Nightly Prayer

Some conversations weigh heavily on our hearts long before they ever happen—hard truths, difficult boundaries, misunderstood feelings, or unresolved tension. But we are not alone in these moments. God promises to give us wisdom, peace, and the words when we surrender them to Him first. 📖 “The Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.” — Proverbs 2:6 📖 “When you are brought before... rulers, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves... for the Holy Spirit will teach you.” — Luke 12:11–12 📖 “Let your conversation be always full of grace.” — Colossians 4:6 Tonight’s prayer invites God into the preparation, the pause, and the moment we speak. Whether it’s a confrontation, a confession, or simply a hard thing that needs to be said, we can trust Him to go before us and work through us.

A Prayer to Be a Vessel, Not a Victim | Your Daily Prayer

Life hands us hardship, injustice, and pain—and while those experiences are real and heavy, they don’t have to define us. Through Christ, we are not victims of our circumstances but vessels of His glory. God redeems what’s broken and uses our wounds as places of ministry, not misery. 📖 “We have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” — 2 Corinthians 4:7 📖 “In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” — Romans 8:37 📖 “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good…” — Genesis 50:20 This prayer is for the one who feels overlooked, defeated, or stuck in the past. It’s a call to rise—not in your own strength, but in God's—believing He can use your story for His glory.

A Prayer to See Myself through God's Eyes | Your Daily Prayer

When you look in the mirror, what do you see? In our daily prayer and devotional, we consider that too often, our view of ourselves is clouded by shame, insecurity, and the critical voice in our own heads. We imagine God sees us the same way — through the lens of our failures and flaws. But Scripture tells us something very different. Through Jesus Christ, we are chosen, loved, redeemed, and clothed in righteousness. God doesn’t see us through condemnation but through the finished work of the cross. He calls us His children, His holy people, and His treasured possession. Keneesha Saunders-Liddie reminds us that learning to see ourselves through God’s eyes is life-changing. Instead of walking in guilt or striving for worth, we can rest in the truth that His love is unconditional and His gaze never wavers. To God, you are not a mistake, a burden, or too far gone. You are His.
