Genavieve Linkowski Returns To American Idol After Losing Her Sister

Genavieve Linkowski returns to American Idol for a touching performance after losing her sister in 2019. Genavieve is no stranger to American Idol. In fact, she auditioned two years ago and made it all the way to Hollywood. Along the way, her family wholeheartedly supported her as she pursued her dream. And one standout is Genavieve’s sister Corrin who was even at her very first audition. Sadly, Corrin lost her life after a bad car accident at the age of 18. The death took a toll on Genavieve. “I felt really lost. I had no motivation to sing whatsoever. My passion was gone for a while and my voice was gone for a while. I just didn’t know how to do life without her because I always did life with her. But I know that Corrin would still want me to push forward with this.” As she fought through tears before the audition, her mom comforted her by saying, “I know Corrin is just watching over you. She’s singing with angels.” Genavieve’s story instantly resonated with the judges and her unique rendition of ‘How Am I Suppose To Live Without You’ was a big hit. Katy Perry said, “I just felt that song through and through. I mean, you were singing that song from your pain that you’ve been through.” Lionel Ritchie also raved about Genavieve’s strength and vocal performance. “It took a lot of guts to come back and stand up, but I really must tell you, I love that performance.” Ultimately, with Corrin’s spirit by her side, Genavieve earned her ticket to Hollywood. Who else is rooting for this young girl?

Barbershop Quartet Performs 'Hello My Baby' Throughout The Decades

In this impressive performance, a talented barbershop quartet performs the song ‘Hello My Baby’ in different musical styles throughout the decades. The song ‘Hello My Baby’ is originally a Tin Pan Alley song written in 1899 by the songwriting team of Joseph E. Howard and Ida Emerson, also known as "Howard and Emerson." In this video, the barbershop quartet, Newfangled Four, performs a playful demonstration of how this song would have sounded throughout the years. “Thank you very much ladies and gentlemen. You might have recognized that last tune as ‘Hello My Baby,’ says one of the members of the Newfangled Four after they sing the song. “Being a barbershop quartet standard and favorite, we thought it was appropriate to sing this on this night of nights. The night of the International Quartet Finalists. But the Newfangled Four wouldn’t be the Newfangled Four unless we did a little something awkward and weird for you. So, imagine if you will, what would ‘Hello My Baby’ sound like if it were written a little later on in the century. Picture if you will, an era where Prohibition was the law of the land, flappers were all the rage, and the musical styling of the blues had just swept the nation.” The group then goes into singing the song and puts a 1920s spin on it. They all sound great performing the music with such a nice, soulful sound. After that rendition, another member of the group steps up to the mic. “We go ahead another couple of decades, and we want to see what ‘Hello My Baby’ might have sounded like when swing was king and big bands were everything.” Then they start to sing the song in a jazzy, big band style. The Newfangled Four continue to do this as they cover ‘Hello My Baby’ in the style of the 1950s, with a country twang, with a disco twist, and even in the style of a rap. With their talent and humor, the Newfangled Four put on a great performance of how music has evolved over the years.

Viral Singer Cyniah Impresses The Judges With 'You Are The Reason' On American Idol

An impressive audition of viral singer Cyniah singing ‘You Are The Reason’ on American Idol leaves all the judges absolutely speechless. Cyniah is a 17-year-old high school student from Atlanta, Georgia. She has been watching American Idol since she was a little girl, and as soon as she was old enough, she knew she wanted to audition. But this audition won’t be the first time millions of people will be watching her sing. Recently, a viral video of her singing reached 4 million people on Facebook! The video was of her gathered with her family on Thanksgiving, and she was singing the gospel song ‘Change Me, Oh God’ next to a piano in her family’s living room. Cyniah’s cousin posted it on Facebook after her performance. They didn’t think anything of it, but the next morning, they realized that the video had gone viral. At her American Idol audition, Cyniah sang ‘You Are The Reason’ by Calum Scott. “I'd climb every mountain And swim every ocean Just to be with you And fix what I've broken Oh, 'cause I need you to see That you are the reason” Cyniah did such an incredible job! She has such a big, soulful voice that is full of power and light. “I want to tell you that that was an excellent performance,” remarks Lionel Richie. “You remind me very much of watching the phenomenon of Whitney [Houston] when she first came. You just have such control and mastery of your voice. It was almost effortless.” “It’s just natural for you,” Luke Bryan says after Cyniah’s audition. “I see why you got 4 million views at the snap of a finger. Really just tastefully done from A to Z.” After getting a yes from all of the judges, Cyniah is officially on her way to Hollywood! Her loving family was able to come through the audition room doors and celebrate this wonderful accomplishment with her.

Police Officer Saves Choking Baby On The Side Of The Highway

In a quick-thinking and heroic act, a police officer saves a choking baby on the side of a highway. Mario Herrera is a New Mexico State Police Officer, and thanks to his life-saving assistance, Daniel and Stephanie Corona’s 11-month-old baby boy is safe and sound. Officer Herrera rushed to the scene right after he heard the emergency over the radio. “I heard it, and I just took off. I knew I would get there faster than the ambulance,” said Herrera. “The baby wasn’t responsive, kind of like, slouched over and not making any noise.” The baby boy’s mother shares more about what was going through her and her husband’s mind right as this nightmare was starting. “We were just so terrified,” said Stephanie Corona. “We got in the car, and we called 911 and drove like crazy to get him to the hospital.” What started all of this was when the baby boy started choking after he had somehow got a small, plastic star charm stuck in his throat. This star charm was pinned to a bridal bouquet. The same bouquet that was used at Daniel and Stephanie’s wedding, just the day before. What a rollercoaster that must have been to be so elated after marrying the love of your life one day, to fearing for your child’s life the next! When looking at the video that was recorded by the patrol car’s dash cam, you can see Officer Herrera pulling his car over to the side of the road and rushing to help the baby. He slaps the baby on the back to dislodge the plastic charm. Right after that, the baby spits out the obstruction and begins to cry. His life was saved, thank goodness! “We are so beyond grateful,” Stephanie says, showing how appreciative she is to Officer Herrera for saving her little boy.

Stranger Gives Man Rent Money After He Prayed To God

One generous stranger offers to pay a man’s rent money after knocking on his door, and it turns out that was exactly what the man prayed to God about that very morning! Juan is the man in the video paying strangers rent money and he runs a YouTube channel called That Was Epic. In this particular video, he went up to random people’s houses, knocked on the door, and offered to pay their rent. Little did he know that he would be the exact answer to someone’s prayer today. “Hello. Super random question. I’m so sorry to bother you,” Juan asks a man right after he answers the door. “I’m just wondering how much you pay for rent here.” “Oh, I’m paying $1,200,” the man says. “Cool, let’s see here,” Juan says as he counts out $1,200 in cash. The man at the door looks completely confused and asks Juan why he is giving him this money. Juan smiles at him and says that he just wants to help him out by paying his next rent payment. The man looks absolutely shocked. “You know I’ve been praying about this,” the man says. “I don’t have rent money for tomorrow.” “Are you serious? Well, there you go,” Juan replies. “Now you have it.” “Are you an angel?” the man says. “No. I just have a YouTube channel called That Was Epic,” explains Juan, “And today we’re actually knocking on people’s doors and offering them to pay their rent.” “I’ve been praying. I’m in the middle of a job transition and it’s been tough for me. I prayed this morning,” the man shares with Juan. “I was paying my rent on time, but things have happened wrong the last two months. We moved here four months ago, and things went really bad for me when I got here. The company I work for got sold out, and we were basically left out in the street, literally. Even this morning, I told my nephew, I said ‘You know, the last thing that I could have that I will not give up is hope. That’s the last thing I’ll give up. I’m going to take this because I know it’s God. This is just a thing from the Lord.” As the two men say their goodbyes, they share a hug and marvel at how God showed up here. What a beautiful interaction!

Off Duty Cops Thwart Robbery Attempt During Date Night

Two off duty cops prevented a robbery attempt while enjoying dinner together. Talk about a heroic date night! Police officers Chase and Nicole McCowan from Louisville, Kentucky are newlyweds who got married six months ago. They recently decided to go to their favorite restaurant to enjoy a nice date together. What was supposed to be a nice, quiet night turned into this couple saving the day! While the two were eating in the back of the restaurant, a masked gunman barged through the front doors, showed his gun, and yelled at the cashier to give him all the cash in the register. “I can see the man’s hands and I can see the firearm in his hand,” says Chase as he recounts the night’s events. Nicole quickly knew something was up as soon as she saw the cashier’s reaction. “It wasn’t until I saw the cashier’s hands go up like this, and I looked at [my husband] and was like ‘Is he doing what I think he’s doing?’” said Nicole. That’s the moment when the pair jumped out of their booth, raised their guns, and charged the armed robber. “He went right, and I went left,” said Nicole. “And it prevented him from coming out the back.” “It’s one of those things when we train, we train to not be in front of each other to avoid crossfire across or one behind another,” explains Chase. The police couple chased the robber out the front door and held down the suspect at gunpoint until backup arrived. Chase and Nicole make quite the pair and are now being hailed as heroes! Bet these crime-fighting newlyweds didn’t expect their date night to turn out this way, but it’s a good thing that they were in the right place at the right time so they could step in to save the day!

41-Year-Old Pastor Todd Tilghman Turns All 4 Chairs With 'We've Got Tonight'

41-year-old pastor Todd Tilghman earned a 4-chair turn on The Voice with his incredible rendition of ‘We’ve Got The Night.’ Even though Todd’s wife was a nervous wreck, he barely got through the first sentence before three of the coaches had turned around. His distinctive tone eventually won over coach John Legend for the very first 4-chair turn of the season. As Todd belted out the iconic words of ‘We’ve Got The Night’ from Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band, you could see the excitement spread across his face. “Look at the stars so far away We've got tonight, who needs tomorrow? We've got tonight babe Why don't you stay?” As if his performance wasn’t impressive enough, Todd revealed that he is actually a pastor with eight kids at home. This new revelation caught the attention of all the coaches and they started to battle over this worthy contestant. The newest coach, Nick Jonas shared his similar musical history with Todd. "I'm actually a pastor's kid. My most fond memories were with my dad at the piano singing praise and worship songs. Do you know Phillips, Craig and Dean?" That’s when they started to go back and forth with some iconic worship lyrics that really set the crowd on fire. Each coach had a compelling argument, but ultimately Todd decided to join Team Blake. There’s no doubt that this man has a God-given talent for performing. I have a feeling he is going to go far in the competition. What do you think?

Hoda Kotb On The 1 Simple Gesture From Her Fiance That Made Her Heart Grow

Morning anchor Hoda Kotb shares a special moment of love from her fiancé Joel that truly opened her eyes. For years, Hoda has been a staple on our TV’s as the co-host of The Today Show’s fourth hour. In 2018, she was named as the co-anchor of the beloved morning show, alongside Savannah Guthrie. Even Hoda’s personal life is thriving with the addition of Haley Joy in February of 2017. Then, in April of 2019, Hoda added another girl into the mix with the adoption of Hope. The happiness keeps coming as she was recently engaged to longtime partner, Joel Schiffman. While talking about men who exemplify honor and chivalry, Hoda shared a recent moment that caused her to take a pause. “I think sometimes it’s about the tiniest gesture in the world.” Hoda recalled a weekend when her mother was visiting from out of town. Whenever she travels, Hoda’s mom likes to have her bag by the door. On the morning of her departure, without being asked, Joel retrieved the bag and set it beside the door. “I looked at Joel and I said ‘I have never loved you more than right now.’” It was such a simple moment but it truly made Hoda realize the love that she had for her fiancé. This is such an important reminder that it’s all of the little things that add up to the big moments. “You realize if you listen to your loved ones, they’ll tell you what they want. And sometimes, it’s so small. You don’t have to do anything major.”

Quick-Thinking Customer Uses Cart To Stop Shoplifter

The community of Peachtree, Georgia is thanking one bystander after he uses a shopping car to stop a shoplifter. It was a scary situation at a grocery store in Georgia when a man fled the store as police chased after him. As he rushes across the parking lot, other people stop to look at the commotion. That is when one of the onlookers decides to step in and help out the officers in pursuit. This quick-thinking shopper turned his shopping cart towards the running man and released the cart. It was a perfectly timed moment and the cart ran right into the fleeing suspect. The alleged shoplifter tripped over the cart and fell to the ground, giving the police officers just enough time to catch up with the suspect and take him into custody. As the officers take the alleged shoplifter away, you can even see on of the cops give the ‘shopping cart hero’ a pat on the back. The entire moment was captured on security cameras and body cams. It was truly a nerve-wrecking situation but this innocent bystander didn’t hesitate to offer assistance. And he timed that cart push perfectly! Now, the suspect is in custody and Inside Edition reported that the ‘41-year-old suspect is facing charges of felony shoplifting and obstruction of an officer.’ Thank goodness that this onlooker was in the exact right place at the right time. Who else thinks God had a hand in this? What did you think of this scary parking lot situation?

American Idol Hopeful Jovin Webb Sings Bluesy Tune For His Late Mom

28-year-old Jovin Webb earned a standing ovation with his bluesy rendition of ‘Whipping Post’ on American Idol. Jovin Webb had a long journey before standing in front of the judges. While he was in college, Jovin lost her mother. “My mother was everything to me. She was my backbone.” This woman help such a special place in his heart and her absence left a huge hole. “She was my biggest fan. And the one person that truly loves you. You know what I mean? Worst day of my life…by far.” After her death, Jovin tried to numb his pain in a number of destructive ways. But when his son was born, Jovin felt alive again and knew he needed to turn his life around. He said, "I don't want him to ever be afraid. I don't want him to ever feel alone. My reason to be here is to show my son, anything you want out of life, you can get it. If my momma can do it, I can do it.” And as soon as Jovin started singing ‘Whipping Post’ by The Allman Brothers, all of the judges were in awe. After the raw performance, judge Luke Bryan stood up to congratulate Jovin. And then, Lionel Ritchie gave him one of the biggest compliments by saying, “You officially brought the BBQ sauce to American Idol. You understand, I don’t have to say a lot except that is what BBQ sauce sounds like.” Jovin easily earned his ticket to Hollywood and I have no doubt that he will go far in this competition. Who else is looking forward to his next performance?
