60-year-old Johnny Quinn surprises the judges on Ireland’s Got Talent with his unique yodel audition.
When this older man stepped on stage, everyone was a little bit apprehensive. When Johnny described himself as a country singer, I thought he was going to just sing a song. But when he started to yodel, everyone was taken for a loop.
Johnny is a talented, country yodeler. In fact, he picked up the skill at a very young age and stuck with it. Johnny has been playing gigs since he was just a teenager and there’s no slowing this guy down anytime soon.
About a year ago, he was watching an episode of Ireland’s Got Talent and decided to audition himself. He didn’t see any other country yodelers, so Johnny figured that he had a good niche.
But when he finally reached the stage, emotions were at an all time high. Johnny spoke about the experience to The County Down Outlook.
“The audience were unbelievable and were really interactive with me too. Going onto the stage I was the most nervous that I had ever been in my whole life. However, for some reason when I was handed the microphone a total calmness came over me and I just did my audition and got on with it.”
As soon as he started to sing, the nerves washed away and his talent shined through. Johnny easily earned 4 ‘yes’ votes from the judges and he’s on his way to the next round. I wonder what this guy is going to do next!
It was a heartwarming moment captured on camera when this returning soldier surprises deaf brother at school.
It’s never easy when a loved one is serving in the military. But this is the reality that many families in our nation must deal with every single day.
They are separated for their family member and must navigate the world without them for a time period. This means celebrating births, birthdays, holidays and more without them by your side.
Even though we are all so proud of what these brave men and women are doing for our country, there is still a piece of our heart that aches for them to return home.
This older brother has been away from the family serving in the military. But today, he is finally coming home and he decided to give his little brother the ultimate surprise.
Just watch as he hides behind the door at his brother’s school. The young boy is deaf, so his teacher communicates through ASL to get the boy to come outside.
As soon as the door closes, he realizes what is really happening. He leaps into big brother’s arms and they share the most touching reunion. You can just feel all of the excitement, love and joy.
I know he must be so glad that his big brother is home and this was the sweetest homecoming reunion. We are so grateful for all of our military men and women and the sacrifices that they make each and every day. Praying for our troops.

One man is being hailed a hero after this dad saves his daughter from a speeding car.
Michael Devore and his daughter were crossing the street after leaving school when the unthinkable happened. A red car was quickly approaching and didn’t show any signs of slowing down at the crosswalk. Michael turned and noticed the dangerous situation.
That’s when he did what any great father would do and pushed his young daughter out of the way. The speeding car continued to barrel through the street and hit Michael. He suffered multiple fractures to both of his legs but that was a small price to pay for the safety of his baby girl.
Michael said, “My main objective was to push her out of the way and if I had to take the hit I had to take the hit.”
While being interviewed, Michael’s daughter expressed how proud she was to call this man her father and what a hero he really is. This man’s quick thinking saved his daughter’s life.
This just shows that a situation can change in the blink of an eye. This father and daughter were using the designated crosswalk, but a speeding car decided to ignore all the rules.
I’m just so glad that everyone is okay and Michael will make a full recovery. There’s truly nothing like the love a father has for his daughter and this situation is a perfect example of the sacrifices that are made. We’re all praying for Michael as he recovers from these injuries.
This is a beautiful song from Hillsong's 3018 album "There Is More." The song is titled "Who You Say I Am", written by Ben Fielding and Reuben Morgan. Lead vocals by Brooke Fraser-Ligertwood.
It was a heartwarming moment captured on a camera when this Good Samaritan helps a blind man cross a busy highway.
Traffic was heavy at an intersection when this man attempted to walk across the street. The blind man had his walking cane in hand, but seemed to be having a bit of difficulty navigating through all of the vehicles.
That’s when one kind woman stopped her car and ran towards him. In the middle of traffic, she helped the blind man weave through the cars and reach his destination. It was such a simple gesture but there were many people that passed by without a second glance.
This woman’s kindness helped a stranger in need and a fellow driver took notice. They recorded the scene as it unfolded in front of them and posted the video online.
Soon, social media was flooded with comments about this Good Samaritan and her selfless act of kindness. Sometimes, it only takes a moment to give someone else the help that they are desperately seeking.
We are all so grateful for this woman and the inspiration she provides to the world. It’s so important to remember to look up and step in when you are called. This is just one way to spread God’s light with the rest of the world.
Luke 14:14 “Then Jesus said to his host . . . When you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
Contemporary Christian artist Ryan Stevenson shares a funny song written by his two sons titled ‘Apples And Hallelujah.’
Ryan Stevenson has been performing since the early 2000s. He’s given us popular songs such as ‘Eye Of The Storm’ and ‘No Matter What.’
Recently, Ryan’s two sons have started to write their own songs. They asked their dad if he would share them with the audience at one of his shows and Ryan happily obliged.
This hilarious medley was recorded at the Hits Deep Tour concert in Nashville, Tennessee. And while we may not understand the meaning behind some of these lyrics, it was absolutely heartwarming to watch Ryan perform them on stage.
He is obviously very proud of his sons and their drive to write music that praises the Lord. There is truly something special about the relationship between a father and his children.
It’s a bond like no other and all that love comes across with this video. And it all culminates with the hilarious finale song, ‘Apples And Hallelujah.’
I have no idea what this one is about but it sure did have me laughing out loud. Which one of these songs was your favorite?
Psalm 127:3-5 “3 Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him.
4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth.
5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.”
Viral UCLA gymnast Katelyn Ohashi delivers another perfect 10 floor routine. This 21-year-old gymnast made headlines last year when her Michael Jackson-themed floor routine was shared all over the Internet.
Then, she performed an energetic ‘Proud Mary’ routine that really got the crowd excited.
Her upbeat routines and perfect scores have been the talk of the gymnastics circuit and everyone looks forward to watching her in action. Not only does she add dance into her difficult gymnastics routine, but she also adds some fun too.
Originally, Katelyn had plans to compete at the Olympic level, but injuries to her shoulder and back forced her to take a step back.
Now, Katelyn is attending college at UCLA and is part of the Bruins gymnastics team. Today, she’s performing another incredible floor routine and it’s earning her rave reviews.
Just watch as she flips and twists all across the floor, with fans cheering her on in the background. With each passing move, I am more and more in awe of her talent and how she can pull of these increasingly difficult skills. And when she landed that drop-split, I think my jaw was on the floor.
It’s no wonder the judges gave her a perfect 10 for this floor routine. There’s no doubt that Katelyn has some serious talent and we’ve been truly blessed to watch her transform over the past few years.
As a senior, she will be graduating at the end of the year, but I hope we continue to see more from this inspiring young woman.

Up where they run
Up where they stay all day in the sun
Wanderin' free
Wish I could be
Part of that world”

This inspirational short story will warm your heart. Azzy Robinson, a 15-year-old bullied teen, gets a touching surprise from his new classmates when he transfers schools.
A few years ago, back at his old school, Azzy was a victim of bullying. It affected him in every way, and his mother said that he soon became very reclusive and would sleep all the time.
Once he transferred to Lavergne High School in Tennessee, the way he was treated by his peers completely changed.
The students at his new high school made him feel seen and loved. Bullying was not part of their culture and they wanted Azzy to know that. To make him feel special, Azzy’s classmates gave him a few gifts. How sweet is that!
Azzy received a new pair of Nike sneakers and some new clothes from his classmates. They all chipped in their own money to get the gifts for Azzy, and when he opened them, happy tears started to fall.
“Those tears were pure joy,” Azzy explains. “Almost proud to be me, for once. Because they wanted to do something for me, like that.”
What an inspiration those students are! They were able to help heal the wounds that Azzy had from the bullying in his past and make him feel encouraged and loved. This is something that we should all strive for. We should all be on the lookout for those that are going through hardships or feeling forgotten and find ways to love them.
Like it says in Galatians 6:2, we are called to look out for each other. “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
And like Azzy’s classmates did, let’s focus on what 1 Thessalonians 5:11 says to do as we interact with those in our lives.
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
One shop owner in Adana, Turkey is incredibly grateful for a tap on the shoulder from a stranger, a simple gesture that ended up saving his life. It was a miraculous meeting that truly helped avoid a tragic end.
When you watch this viral video captured on a security camera, you see that the shop owner could have suffered some serious injuries, or even death, if he had not turned around.
While he was stacking goods outside of his shop, he felt a sudden tap on his shoulder, and he turned towards the street. Just a moment later, a gate from a large truck swings open. It flies through the area at high speeds where the man’s head was just moments before.
The stranger who tapped the shop owner’s shoulder continues to calmly walk away. When the man is looking around to see who touched him, he looks visibly confused and shocked. The stranger is nowhere to be found.
The shop owner says that the driver of the large truck returned to apologize for what had happened, but the stranger who tapped his shoulder was simply gone without leaving a trace.
The timing of the incident is incredible. A divine intervention! Had the shop owner not felt the tap on his shoulder right when he did, he would not have been able to move out of harm’s way in enough time. Could that stranger have been the man’s guardian angel? To say the least, God was definitely looking out for him that night!
This story is a great reminder to us all to be attentive to the help that is given to us in our daily lives. Be open to receive it, because we were not meant to walk this life alone. We all need one another to get by.
19-year-old American Idol contestant Kai the Singer returns to the stage for Hollywood Week.
When we first met this South Carolina resident, she brought judge Lionel Ritchie to tears with her ‘My Girl’ audition.
Now, she’s back to continue fighting for her spot on the popular singing competition. But the journey to Hollywood wasn’t easy. Growing up was hard for Kai. As a child, her family was in and out of shelters and even lived in their car at one point.
There are currently eight people in her household and not everyone has a bed. When she couldn’t come up with the money to make it to the first audition, her church rallied around this talented teen. They raised the money and even gave Kai a guitar.
“Everybody says nothing good comes out of Kingstree. So, when my church raised funds for me to get to the first audition, I was lost for words. They’re amazing people.” Now, her church is continuing to support her on this musical journey and the gesture isn’t lost on Kai.
Just to have them backing me, it does something to my confidence, actually. Because I’m even smiling more now.” Kai is determined to make them proud and there’s no doubt that the church is cheering for her rendition of "Lost Without You" by Freya Ridings.
Week after week, Kai continues to prove why she belongs on American Idol. From her incredible voice to her humble roots, this young woman is certainly a front-runner in the competition.
Contestant Johanna Jones receives a touching surprise proposal on American Idol during Hollywood Week.
Johanna sailed through her first audition to earn a ticket to Hollywood. Now, she is among some of the nation’s best performers and has to fight for her spot on the live shows.
While in California, Johanna leans on the support of her family, but she was missing a big piece of her heart. Her boyfriend, Matt, was unable to be there because he was finishing up finals at school.
Johanna describes Matt by saying, “He’s the most supportive, loving, awesome guy I’ve ever met. I don’t want to get ahead of myself, but I think he’s probably the one.” Little did she know that Matt had concocted an elaborate plan to surprise Johanna in Hollywood. But first, Johanna needed to perform on stage for the panel of judges.
Full of confidence, this rising star belts out the words to ‘Wicked Game’ by Chris Isaak. She had the judges on their feet clapping when Matt walked out from behind the stage. Everyone was so stunned to see this young man with a microphone in his hand.
Johanna knew at once what was happening but it took the judges a bit to catch on. As Matt got down on one knee, with a ring in hand, Katy Perry bursts into tears.
It was a proposal that no one saw coming but it’s definitely a moment that everyone is going to be talking about. Even Johanna’s parents were in the audience to witness the blessed celebration. What a way to remember Hollywood Week!
Contestant Cedric Neal’s 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' performance has the judges cheering on The Voice UK. This iconic song was released in 1969 by the popular duo Simon & Garfunkel.
Over the years, countless artists have lent their voices to this tune and it’s truly stood the test of time. It’s combination of difficult notes and poignant lyrics make it a one powerful number.
So it is easy to see why Cedric Neal would select this song for his performance during the knockout rounds of The Voice UK. From the very first note, I knew that Cedric was going to give this song his all.
“When you're weary, feeling small
When tears are in your eyes, I'll dry them all (all)
I'm on your side, oh, when times get rough
And friends just can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down”
During the performance, you can see judge Jennifer Hudson cheering him on. And Cedric’s own coach, Tom, listens intently at every single perfectly performed note.
At the age of 43, Cedric is significantly older than most of the other contestants. But, time and time again, he’s proved that he deserves to be exactly where he is.
This rendition of ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ earned Cedric a place in the semi-finals and he’s definitely going to be a force to be reckoned with. Do you think he has what it takes to win the entire competition?
CATS singer Ceili O'Connor performs the sweetest duet with an elderly man at a public piano. Ceili is a talented vocalist most famously known for her portrayal of Jennyanydots on the International tour of CATS.
Recently, she was traveling to Brussels for another performance of the popular musical when fellow actor Matthew Rowland spotted something special. There was an elderly man playing ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ on a public piano.
Matthew said on Twitter, "I saw this guy playing and called Ceili O'Connor as I knew he needed a singing partner.” Then, he started recording the incredible moment as Ceili belted out the iconic lyrics while the man continued to play.
“Someday, I wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney top
That's where you'll find me”
Once the performance was posted online, it immediately garnered all kinds of attention. Nearly a million people have watched this sweet exchange and no one is more surprised by the praise then Ceili herself.
She posted on Twitter, “Can’t believe how many people have seen the video of Dennis & I still. The most heart warming thing for me is seeing how it’s touched peoples hearts in some way or other. The power of music.”
Music is truly the universal language and it’s amazing to watch two strangers create an instant bond in such a beautiful way. This is definitely one duet that you’ll want to hear again and again.
Team members from Unexpected Vibes supported their blind teammate, Shayy, in an incredible way during the American Idol group performances.
It has only been one year since this high school student started to complain of vision problems. As images started to get blurry, Shayy feared that she would need to get glasses. But after a routine trip to the eye doctor, the family realized this was a much more serious issue.
Shayy was rushed to the hospital for an MRI and that’s when they discovered a tumor in her brain. After surgery, this young woman was declared legally blind. But this teen isn’t letting anything hold her back from following her dreams.
When we first met Shayy, she moved the judges to tears with her ‘Rise Up’ audition.
Now, she has made it all the way to Hollywood to continue to fight for her spot on American Idol. Part of Hollywood Week is the group performances. Individuals are placed on a team and given a completely new song to arrange and perform in front of the judges.
Learning words when you cannot see to read posed a challenge for Shayy, but her teammates made sure she had all the support and assistance to feel confident. And during their soulful performance of ‘I Want It That Way’ from The Backstreet Boys, the team all put on vision-distorting glasses.
Shayy made them for her entire group so they would have a sense of what it’s like from her perspective. It was such a touching gesture of kindness that wasn’t missed by the judges. In fact, Lionel Ritchie teared up, once again. This is what Hollywood Week is all about.
