The 3 Great Questions of Life...

Important questions of life are at times not asked or even contemplated. They, however, give direction and guidance for our lives.
1. From whence do I come? (origins)
2. To where am I going? (destiny)
3. Why am I here? (significance)

1 Woman Sings Chilling Titanic Hymn In A Stairwell

Viral social media singer Lauren Paley performs a chilling rendition of ‘Hymn Of The Sea’ from Titanic. When James Cameron released the film Titanic in 1997, it became a worldwide phenomenon. It was the most expensive film ever made at the time with a budget of $200 million. It also became the highest grossing film ever, at the time. Titanic went on to win 11 Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Original Dramatic Score. The music from the film is one of the most iconic soundtracks of all time including hits such as ‘My Heart Will Go On’ and other original pieces from composer James Horner. Today, Lauren Paley is putting her own spin on one of these stunning compositions with her performance of ‘Hymn Of The Sea.’ This hauntingly beautiful tune is performed throughout the film, usually associated with impending tragedies. Lauren truly does this song justice as she sits in an empty stairwell and belts out the tune. The natural acoustics of the stairwell provide the perfect backdrop for Lauren’s smooth vocals. After first posting the video on Tik Tok, it garnered so much attention that it was featured on other social media platforms. Viewers were stunned at the incredible sound. One person wrote on YouTube, “I love Titanic and this song! You sing beautiful! I'm crying.” Another viewer said, “You may or may not know this but you are God’s gift. Keep sharing your God-given amazing talent.” There’s no doubt that this young woman has a talent for singing and this was the perfect song to showcase her amazing skills.

'We'll Meet Again' Opera Voice Katherine Jenkins Performs Timeless Classic

In a beautiful and heartfelt rendition of ‘We’ll Meet Again,’ opera singer Katherine Jenkins performs this timeless classic with the help of people all over Great Britain. “We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when But I know we'll meet again some sunny day Keep smiling through, just like you always do 'Till the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away So will you please say hello, to the folks that I know Tell them I won't be long, they'll be happy to know That as you saw me go, I was singing this song” This performance was in honor of the 75th anniversary of VE Day, also known as Victory in Europe Day. This is celebrated on May 8th and marks the anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe. Katherine Jenkins starts off singing this beautiful and hopeful song in front of Kensington Palace. The song was originally performed by Dame Vera Lynn, who is shown next to Katherine at the beginning of this video. Dame Vera Lynn was a British singer, songwriter, and actress whose musical recordings and performances were enormously popular during the Second World War. As the song goes on, many people throughout Britain join in the singing. There are school children, nurses, construction workers, military personnel, train conductors, veterinarians, farmers, dentists, and firefighters all joining in with their lovely voices. It is a beautiful thing to see them all coming together as a gesture of thanks to their veterans and in memory of their loved ones. The song holds even more meaning during this time when friends and family cannot be physically close to each other because of the coronavirus pandemic. “That made me cry but the tears were of happiness and hope,” comments one person on YouTube. “I like this! I am an American and a great admirer of the British people,” writes another person on YouTube. “I certainly appreciate your stalwart, courageous character and everyone in the western world especially should be thankful for the extreme sacrifice your nation displayed during one of the darkest periods of the last century. I admire your Queen for her unwavering sense of duty and commitment and for her gracious, dignified manner. God Bless.” We hope you enjoyed this lovely performance of ‘We’ll Meet Again’ and look to the hopeful future when we all will be able to gather together and share in fellowship!

'Rainbow Connection' Josh Groban At Home Performance

Talented vocalist Josh Groban lifts our spirits with ‘Rainbow Connection.’ This beloved song is from the 1979 movie, The Muppet Movie. The song was first performed by Kermit The Frog and climbed the Billboard charts. It even went on to be nominated for a Grammy Award. Now, countless artists have covered the song and lamented along with our favorite frog. “Why are there so many Songs about rainbows And what's on the other side Rainbows are visions They're only illusions And rainbows have nothing to hide So we've been told and some chose to Believe it But I know they're wrong wait and see” As COVID-19 has forced many people to remain in their homes, it has caused so many feelings of fear and anxiety. In an effort to put some joy into the world, Josh decided to start twice-weekly song covers called ‘Shower Songs.’ So far, we’ve heard beloved favorites such as ‘Hallelujah’ and ‘What A Wonderful World.’ Now, Josh is taking on another classic hit with ‘Rainbow Connection.’ He’s dedicating his performance to the children and it’s an amazing moment you don’t want to miss. “Someday we'll find it The Rainbow Connection The lovers, the dreamers and me” As we all navigate through these unprecedented times, it is so important to find joy. Music is something that connects us all and can truly make us feel the weight of the words. As you listen to ‘Rainbow Connection,’ remember to look to the Lord in troubling moments and He will always guide the way.

Comfort during Coronavirus

These are times of trial and life is not "small potatoes" according to The Message Bible.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 The Message (MSG)
16-18 So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.

'Cats In The Cradle' By Ricky Skaggs

Enjoy this great version of Ricky Skaggs singing ‘Cats In The Cradle,’ and notice how the scenes in the music video match so well with the descriptive lyrics in this song. “My child arrived just the other day, he came to the world in the usual way But there were planes to catch, and bills to pay, he learned to walk while I was away And he was talking 'fore I knew it, and as he grew He'd say ‘I'm gonna be like you, dad, you know I'm gonna be like you’ And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon Little boy blue and the man in the moon ‘When you coming home, dad?’ I don't know when But we'll get together then, you know we'll have a good time then” This song was originally released in 1974 by Harry Chapin. And Ricky does an incredible job covering this song in the video. Ricky Skaggs is known as an American country and bluegrass singer, musician, producer, and composer. He primarily plays the mandolin, but also likes to play the fiddle, guitar, and banjo. In 2016, Ricky was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum, and in 2018 he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Many of Ricky’s fans really enjoy his version of this song and the meaning that is put behind the words. “Ricky Skaggs version really tells a story of the lives of many of us who had hard working Dads but somehow they were there - yet absent in so many ways!” writes one person on YouTube. “You want the best for your child, so you work hard to provide it to them,” comments another person on YouTube. “You want them to have things you didn't have growing up, but it's a tradeoff, cost you quality time together. It's a vicious cycle that is only realized when you're older.” This classic song helps remind us to prioritize what’s important, the loved ones in our lives. Because time goes by so quickly and we need to cherish the moments together that we still have.

WYWS stands for While You Were Sleeping, “written out of my anguish over gang/gun violence in Chicago. In the age of ‘Woke’, there are many who are still asleep.” The title song addresses two camps: the gang member enthralled in Chicago violence, asleep to his own mortality and eternal destination, and the church: God’s revelation of Christ to a dying world by way of gospel proclamation. The D-Day Juniors Remember History With Inspiring BGT Audition

In a beautiful Britain’s Got Talent audition, the D-Day Juniors remember history with their inspiring performance. “Every day I wake up, grab my bag, and ride to school so fast Sitting in the classroom, history I’m learning of the past I’m turning the pages, I can’t believe my eyes Now I know how you saved us, want to shine a light to your lives Thank you for our freedom (for the things you did for us) And everything you’ve done (and the life you gave for us) Pass it on (pass it on), pass it on (pass it on) Pass it on to everyone” This beautiful song was performed by the D-Day Juniors, and the members in the group are between the ages of 6 and 17. The timing of this performance could not have been more perfect, because it marks the 75th anniversary of VE Day, also known as Victory in Europe Day. This is celebrated on May 8th and marks the anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe. For the D-Day Juniors’ performance, they sang this special song on the BGT stage while old pictures of soldiers were projected behind the singers. Later in the song, images of the soldiers started to be shown next to photos of some of the children in the choir. This was to show that some of the singers are direct descendants of the soldiers that were pictured on stage. While the kids are dancing around and singing, they are using props to make it look like they are reading history books. The song that they performed is very powerful, and they sound lovely with their beautiful harmonies. After the audition, the D-Day Juniors get a standing ovation from the judges and the crowd, and many people in the audience can be seen tearing up. What a wonderful song and tribute to those who have fought for their freedom!
