Texas resident Aaron Mitchell was left with nothing when Hurricane Harvey came though his area. He walked nearly 12 miles just to get to safety. Left with no cell service, Aaron pleaded on a news segment for his family to contact him and let him know they were okay.
Thankfully, his father saw the broadcast and was able to get through to Aaron. Their emotional phone conversation was captured on cameras and it will bring a tear to your eye. This hurricane has devastated the area and torn families apart.
I'm so glad this man was reunited with his own parents and other's were there to assist. Prayers for those still searching for loved ones.
Reed Goodman and his family heard a call from God and they're ready to answer. These 3 kind gentlemen teamed up together and drove their boats down from Victoria, Texas to help rescue victims from Hurricane Harvey.
Reed recently moved from North Dakota to Texas and hadn't been able to find a job. After this natural disaster, he knows that God brought him to Texas to help those in need. Along with his father and brother, Reed knows that each of their boats can aid helpless victims.
By the grace of God, a local family in Texas opened up their home to the all of the Goodman men and are helping house them while they start the rescue efforts. I'm so glad these men followed God's call. What Good Samaritans!

KHOU Reporter Brandi Smith was broadcasting on live television about Hurricane Harvey when she noticed something terrifying. There was a man trapped in his tractor trailer below the bridge in 10 feet of water.
The water was continuing to rise so the news reporters stopped their broadcast to flag down help. They were able to stop Harris County Sheriff deputies and help this poor man. A boat was sent out for him and shortly after he thanked the kind news team for aiding in his rescue.
This devastating flood has truly brought out the selfless and kind nature of people and I'm so glad we're able to band together to help those in their time of need.
While this car owner was on the way to work, she thought she heard a kitten in her car. Once she arrived, she noticed that a mama cat had followed her, so there must be a baby trapped inside her car. The woman called a non-profit organization and they sent help.
No one was able to see the kitten, so they put the car on a jack. After nearly 2 hours of work, they were finally able to free the poor baby from the car's engine. This teeny kitten was, thankfully, uninjured and happy to be set free.
I'm so glad that these Good Samaritans were able to save this sweet baby. What an amazing group of people!
26-year-old Johnathan Jones was tragically killed in a head-on collision. Right before the crash, Johnathan was at home with his wife and 2 daughters. He decided to get a shake from a local fast food joint and left the family at home, since he would only be 10 minutes.
After Johnathan didn't return home, his wife, Amber, began to worry. She loaded the 2 girls up in the car and they went out to find Johnathan. As she was driving, she passed a scene full of flashing lights and police cars. She felt the need to pull over and when she did, she talked with an officer and learned that her husband was, in fact, involved in the wreck.
As they waited for an update, their 5-year-old daughter, Jordan, said that she had a dream that Daddy went to Heaven. A few minutes later, they found out that Johnathan had passed away due to his injuries.
Despite the tragic situation, this family is finding comfort that this kind man is with his Father in Heaven.
Brianna Siegel was waiting tables at a local restaurant when she was taken aback. A young couple came in and order 2 drinks and 2 burgers. After they placed the order, the couple asked Brianna if she believed in God. Brianna said yes and went to hand the pair their bill for $20.
Before they left the restaurant, they let Brianna know that there was an envelope with their bill and for her not to open it until after they were gone. After her shift, Brianna remembered the comment and opened the envelope to find a check written out to her for $1200.
She was completely surprised and thankful for this anonymous couple's gift. They said that God led them to leave this extra special tip and Brianna plans to use it towards her schooling. What an incredible gesture!
On February 11, 2015 Mark Hall from Casting Crowns received news that would change his life forever. He was diagnosed with cancer and in that moment, he felt a flood of emotions. He decided to spill these emotions onto paper and the beautiful song 'Oh My Soul' was written.

When Jarvis Smith arrived to work at DeKalb County Animal Services one morning, he noticed a man sleeping in front of the building. This homeless man had made his way to the shelter during the night and was waiting by the door in the hopes that his dog was inside.
Unfortunately, the animal shelter was in the process of moving locations so Jarvis informed the man that he would have to travel to their new location to see if his dog had been brought in. The homeless man had no money for train fare, so Jarvis took it upon himself to give him the money and directions.
In this heartwarming video, you will see this homeless man reunited with his beloved pup. There are so many emotions during these moments and I'm so glad there are good people, like Jarvis, out in the world today!
