This viral Christmas ad from Erste is the perfect reminder of love during the holiday season. Loving ourselves and loving one another is so important and it’s truly at the heart of Christmas. In this online animation ad, a hedgehog has just arrived at his new school. But he soon realizes that all of his other classmates have soft fur, while he is the only one with prickly quills. The other students aren’t quite sure what to think of the hedgehog and some are even afraid of him. You can see the classmates move their desks further away from the poor new guy and no one will play with him at recess. Then, one day, a new friend offers the hedgehog a seat on the bus. But when a bump on the ride causes a quill to poke his new friend, the hedgehog is noticeably discouraged. He’s in a whole new place and feels like he doesn’t fit in with everyone else. Thankfully, love truly found a way and this hedgehog received one of the best gifts of all. This might be a commercial, but the sentiments are so real. Christmas is all about love. The love we have for one another and the love our Father had for all of us on Earth. God sent His only Son to save us all for our sins. His ultimate act of love freed us from our chains and now we will all live out our days in Heaven. Love is so powerful and it can truly do all things, like helping a prickly hedgehog make friends with other animals.

Christian singer and songwriter Michael W. Smith wasn’t looking for love, but God sent him some anyways. “Other than coming to Christ, really the second most remarkable thing to happen to me was meeting my soul mate.” Smith met his now wife, Debbie, in 1981. He had just signed a recording contract and was in the studio making music almost every single day. Even though he hoped to meet someone and marry one day, dating was not something that was on his mind at this busy point in his life. He even remembers thinking, “I’m in the studio 14 hours a day and I’m writing songs. At some point, I’ll get married.” But the moment he saw Debbie, everything he thought he knew completely changed. “She walked by me at a record company and I knew at that very very moment that that was the girl that I was going to spend the rest of my entire life with.” Ultimately, they were married after just six months and Smith knows that God put Debbie in his life at exactly the right time. After they married, the couple wanted to start a family, but they struggled to conceive. That’s when they decided to hand it over to God and asked the church to pray for them. God delivered in a big way and now, Michael and Debbie have 5 beautiful children together. He even joked that he asked the church to remove them from the prayer list after the birth of their fifth child. This is such an incredible testimony of trusting in God in all things.

An 82-year-old grandma became the victim of a gift card scam and now her grandson is warning others. Corey Hayward knew something was suspicious when his grandma mentioned paying lawyers for a car accident he was supposedly in. But Corey was never in a car accident. After digging a little deeper, he found out the sad truth that his grandma had been the victim of scammers. They told the woman that Corey had been involved in a fatal car crash and they needed to be paid in order to keep him out of jail. The scammers asked Grandma to purchase thousands of dollars worth of gift cards and provide them with the card numbers over the phone. "You wouldn't pay a lawyer with Best Buy gift cards, so I immediately knew something was wrong here," Corey said. These smart scammers even went as far as asking the woman to shred the receipts so that there was no record of her transactions. Thankfully, she kept some of the records and Corey has evidence of over $27,000 in gift card purchases. "They took her whole savings. She's broke. She has no money, and she's taking care of my grandfather who is very, very sick. She was just the perfect target," he said. It’s truly upsetting to know that these scammers swindled such an innocent woman, but Corey is hoping that sharing the story will protect others from a similar situation. Please take heed of this warning and be sure to let your elderly friends and relatives know of this dangerous scam.

This singing waiter truly gives a new meaning to dinner and show. We’ve all been out to eat at restaurants and some service stands out more than others. We might remember a great meal or good conversation. This waiter wanted to make sure that his patrons had a moment to remember and that’s exactly what happened. This talented young man is earning praises all around for his recent performance during the evening shift. In the video clip, you can see him stand up in the middle of the restaurant and start to belt out an Italian tune. But what really made this moment special is when an elderly woman approached the singer. He immediately took her hand and started to serenade the grandma with his incredible voice. They both sway along to the music and it’s obvious that they are having a wonderful time together. The young waiter even puts his arm around her as he hits all the right notes. That is when this grandma was overcome with emotion and had to remove her glasses to wipe away the tears. This is definitely something that you don’t see everyday and a voice like this is truly one to remember. No wonder this singing waiter earned a standing ovation from the whole crowd. Viral kid yodeler Mason Ramsey is back and this time he’s singing one of our favorite Christmas songs, ‘White Christmas.’ ‘I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, Just like the ones I used to know May your days be merry and bright And may all your Christmases be white’ Mason became an Internet sensation when a video of him singing in a WalMart was posted online. This little country crooner stood loud and proud and even started yodeling during his performance. Since that time, 12-year-old Mason has gone on to sing on numerous talk shows and even performed on the Grand Ole Opry stage. And when he belts out the words of this Christmas classic, I can’t help but smile. ‘I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, With every Christmas card I write May your days be merry and bright And may all your Christmases be white’ I love the modern Christmas songs, but nothing can compare to the classics. Hank Williams is one of Mason’s biggest inspirations and you definitely get that vibe with this tune. His voice blends perfectly with this Bing Crosby song and the way he belts out each note will have you in awe. This young man has truly made a name for himself in the music industry and I’m hoping that he continues to cover classics, like this one. I have a feeling that we will be hearing a lot more from this young man in the coming year. What do you think of this kid sensation?

‘Carol Of The Bells’ is a classic Christmas song that we all know and love. Today, the talented trio of RESOUND is putting their own spin on this carol and it’s absolutely incredible. ‘Christmas is here, Bringing good cheer, To young and old, Meek and the bold.’ ‘Carol Of The Bells’ was written in 1914 by Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych. A few years later, Peter J. Wilhousky came up with the lyrics that we still sing today. When Christmas came around this year, RESOUND knew they wanted to spread holiday cheer through song. So, they came up with this beautiful arrangement and it has me in complete awe. It’s so hard not sing along when they belt out the famous words: ‘Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas’ This trio started out with a mission to touch lives and share Jesus through their music. And I’m so glad that they are using their God-given talent to sing praises to His name. Christmas is the perfect time to share the Lord’s message with others and how Jesus Christ was born to save us all. What a blessing to watch the younger generation bring others to worship. This is one of the reasons why Christmas is my favorite time of the year. John 1:14 “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

3-year-old Preslie Jenkins is walking again after she was the victim of a road rage incident in Florida. Preslie was riding in the car with her mother, Nikki Jenkins, when a shot was fired into their vehicle and hit the toddler in the head. The bullet went above her eyebrow and came out through her skull. The injured Preslie was rushed to Palm Beach Children’s Hospital, in Florida, where she had to endure a 6-hour surgery followed by a medically induced coma. Dr. Lauran Schwartz, Preslie’s physician, wasn’t sure if the little girl would survive. “When Preslie came into the hospital, she was severely ill, really on death’s door.” But against all odds, this little fighter proved everyone wrong. Preslie made an unexpected and speedy recovery and she’s well on her way to full rehabilitation. After only a few weeks, this sweet toddler is already walking and talking. She even had a special message for all of her supporters who sent her well wishes and presents. ‘Thank you for the prayers,’ Preslie said in a video message from her hospital bed. There has still been no arrests or suspects in the case, but the family remains hopeful that the perpetrator will be brought to justice. We are definitely continuing to keep little Preslie and her family in our thoughts and prayers during this time. While the road to recovery may not be over, we all have faith that this brave fighter will be running around, laughing and playing, in no time.

‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ became an instant classic after pop star Mariah Carey released the song in 1994. Carey wrote and performed the catchy tune and now, it has become a Christmas staple. ‘I don't want a lot for Christmas There is just one thing I need I don't care about the presents Underneath the Christmas tree I just want you for my own More than you could ever know Make my wish come true All I want for Christmas is you’ Today, the a cappella Disney group, DCappella, is putting their own unique spin on the song and it’s absolutely incredible. DCappella was formed in 2018 with some of the best vocal talents in the country. Since their creation, the group has covered countless favorites and now their taking on this Christmas tune. Their a cappella rendition truly gives ‘All I Want For Christmas’ an entirely different feel and it’s one you just have to hear. Even though many years have passed since the song was first created, the message still rings true today. Not every person is able to be with his or her loved ones during the holiday season. But, even when they are not physically with us, our family will always be in our hearts and minds. I absolutely love Christmas music and this is one song that I have to hear every year. If you are looking for an incredible Christmas light display, nothing compares to this setup in Texas. It was so over the top, that it fooled one unsuspecting man into thinking the display was real. Chris Heerlein and his wife, Hannah, went all out to try and win their neighborhood’s annual Christmas display contest. They decided to recreate a scene from the holiday movie ‘National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.’ In the movie, Clark Griswold, played by Chevy Chase, is attempting to hang lights on his roof when he trips and is left clinging to the gutter. The Heerleins set up an elaborate recreation, complete with a mannequin appearing to dangle from their house. The entire display was so good that it actually prompted one passerby to dial 911. When Alfred Norwood, Jr. came across the scene, he ran towards the house to save the ‘man.’ Security cameras on the property captured Norwood rushing to grab the ladder and shouting to the dangling dummy. Once the police arrived, they were able to sort out the whole misunderstanding but the family was still touched by Norwood’s immediate reaction to help. They even ended up giving him a gift card for his kindness. Since the incident, the Heerleins have placed a sign in their yard notifying passerbys of the display. After all of this, I sure hope that this family won the neighborhood contest. They definitely put a lot of time and effort into pulling off these details. Every year, WestJet embarks on a mission to help spread happiness at Christmas time. In the past, they’ve taken part in epic flash mobs, real-time gift giving, free flights and more. This year, WestJet wanted to top everything from the past and after watching this Christmas miracle, I think they accomplished the task. WestJet is currently the second largest airline in Canada. Over the years, they’ve made a name for themselves as a budget-friendly airline with a heart for giving. They searched all over for guests who were missing a loved one this holiday season. “In the spirit of Christmas, WestJet created a surprise these lucky guests will remember for the rest of their lives.” Some of the deserving people included parents missing their daughter, a set of best friends and a long-distance couple who met under tragic circumstances. The unsuspecting guests were asked to take part in a fake commercial for airline, but what they didn’t know it that their loved ones were being flown in for an amazing surprise reunion. One by one, each ‘participant’ is stunned to find their missing loved ones are right beside them. It’s so incredible to watch the genuine reactions and the happiness that each person will feel this season. WestJet definitely pulled off a Christmas miracle and I just love seeing them give back each year. The airline said it best when they said, “Being together with loved ones is the best tradition of all.” I can’t wait to see what they come up with for next year.

At Disneyland Resort in California, the beautiful candlelight ceremony featured choirs singing, a spectacular light show, and none other than Hollywood A-list Christian actor Chris Pratt reading the nativity story. The actor’s heartfelt telling of the story is so moving, especially amid the backdrop of hundreds of flickering candles. “The shepherds rose to follow the star as it shone in the east when suddenly, there was, with the angel, a multitude of heavenly hosts, praising God, and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace, good will toward men.” Chris beautifully read. When the announcer introduced the special guest narrator after Chris’ reading, the crowd cheered, and Chris addressed them saying, "Ladies and gentlemen, it was really my honor to share this beautiful Candlelight ceremony with all of you. It's been a very special and inspiring night. For me, being a parent has really changed my life in so many ways. And one of those ways is to understand, truly, the love that a father could have for a child." Chris then continued on saying, "When I stare at this precious little creation of mine here, and I watch the ways in which he tries to please me, I just fill with a love that I feel is so pure, and unending. The way we love our children, the more we love our children, the more we will understand the capacity for our Father in heaven to love us. Each and every one of us a precious creation, and he just marvels in the ways that we can try to please Him. That should give us a great deal of comfort. I know it does for me." He summed up his comments by ending with,"This holiday season, let us embrace every one of our tomorrows with hope and love. And through this holiday spirit may we continue to spread peace and goodwill throughout the world. Thank you, and Merry Christmas!" How wonderful is it that Disney has continued this wonderful tradition for so many years? The park has celebrated the candlelight processional since it first opened its doors back in 1955! ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’ is one of the most well known Christmas song of the modern age. The powerful tune was penned in 1984 Bob Geldof and Midge Ure after they saw news reports about the famine in Ethiopia. The writers put together a group of some of the biggest singers and musicians, at the time, and they called themselves Band Aid. The song immediately became a hit and helped to raise money for Africa. Since that time, it’s become a staple during Christmas time. ‘And there won't be snow in Africa this Christmas time The greatest gift they'll get this year is life Where nothing ever grows No rain or rivers flow Do they know it's Christmas time at all?’ Today, a whole new group is performing this song and they hope to achieve some of the same success while raising money for charity. The Fire Tones are a talented ensemble of firefighters from all over the United Kingdom. They recorded the iconic song in aid of The Firefighters Charity and The Band Aid Charity Trust. This is definitely a very special song and the lyrics are so powerful. It’s incredible to see a group of brave men and women come together to give ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’ a new sound this year. And I can’t get over just how amazing all of their voices sound when they blend together. What an awe-inspiring rendition from these firefighters. Let’s use this song to remind ourselves to say a prayer for all of those around the world who may not experience the type of Christmas we do.
