Kirk Franklin Spots Choir In The Audience And They All Start To Sing

Grammy award-winning gospel artist Kirk Franklin leads an impromptu worship session with the Bowie State Gospel Choir. Recently, Kirk was a guest on The Steve Harvey Show. During a commercial break, he spotted a gospel choir in the audience. In a completely unplanned moment, he invited the choir down to the stage. That’s when he performed along with the choir and they belted out the famous lyrics to ‘Melodies From Heaven.’ “Melodies from heaven Rain down on me, rain down on me Melodies from heaven Rain down on me, rain down on me Take me in your arms and hold me close Rain down on me, rain down on me” Kirk Franklin has been a staple in the Christian music scene for decades. Over the years, he gave up gospel hits such as ‘I Smile’ and ‘Looking For You.’ Recently, he collaborated with contemporary artist, Tori Kelly, for her first gospel album. Now, Kirk is spreading God’s message everywhere he goes, just like this performance on The Steve Harvey Show. He immediately has the crowd singing and clapping along. Even host Steve Harvey is singing this gospel favorite. The words remind us that God’s love and mercy reign down on us all. Even when we do not deserve it, God continues to remain by our side. Our God is great and He is so perfect in all of His ways. Kirk Franklin and the Bowie State Gospel Choir definitely took this audience to church. What do you think of this spontaneous worship?

'Freedom' Reba McEntire Patriotic Song Live Performance

Country music superstar Reba McEntire performs her rousing new song, ‘Freedom’ at the 54th ACM Awards. ‘Freedom’ is the lead single from Reba’s latest album, ‘Stronger Than The Truth.’ “That's why people fight for it, rise for it Burn up the night for it Cry for it, pine for it Cross rivers wide for it Once you've held the truth There's nothin' you won't do And when I look into your eyes I know why people died for it Freedom, loving you feels like freedom” Reba McEntire is one of the most well known voices in country music. Sine her rise to stardom in the 1970s, Reba has truly made a name for herself as a powerhouse vocal talent. Her latest album is a true testament of the struggles she has overcome and the strength she found within. ‘Freedom’ is the perfect song to kick off Reba’s new era. This powerful song holds dual meanings. Not only is ‘Freedom’ a patriotic album, but it’s also a story about a woman finding love. The ability for her fans to relate to the music is a big consideration for Reba. “I want everybody to be able to relate to these songs. That makes a very successful song and a very popular song, when they can relate to it, when they come back and say, "Oh my gosh, she wrote this song for me." Or, "That's my life story." Or, "Me and my best friend can relate to that." That's what makes a really good song.”

Laine Hardy Performs 'That's All Right' By Elvis Presley On American Idol

American Idol contestant Laine Hardy performs a unique rendition of the Elvis Presley classic, ‘That’s All Right.’ Laine is currently in the Top 14 of the popular singing competition. He auditioned last season, but was eliminated in the early rounds. Now, he’s back and better than ever as he vies for the coveted winner’s title. Tonight, this country guy is channeling his inner blues-rocker with this Elvis performance. “Well, that's all right, mama That's all right for you That's all right mama, just anyway you do Well, that's all right, that's all right That's all right now mama, anyway you do” As soon as Laine starts singing the iconic lyrics of ‘That’s All Right’ the crowd starts to clap along. With slicked back hair, he strums along on his guitar without missing a note. Even the judges were on their feet for this upbeat performance from the 18-year-old returnee. After the song, judge Katy Perry said, “You know your strengths and you’re playing them well. It’s so exciting to see you grow.” Each judge had words of praise for the young singer and encouraged him to let loose on the stage and have fun. He’s made it all the way to the Top 14, but Laine almost didn’t audition this year. After playing guitar for a childhood friend during her initial audition, the judges requested that Laine sing too. That’s when he earned his second ticket to Hollywood. Now, this entertaining performer is well on his way to beating out the rest of the competition. Only time will tell if Laine has what it takes, but I’m certainly looking forward to his next performance.

Paralyzed Secret Service Agent Inspired By Team Hoyt To Run Marathon

A paralyzed secret service agent and his supervisor will overcome the odds to run the Boston Marathon in 2019. Three years ago, Agent Garrett Fitzgerald was paralyzed in a car crash. While on duty, Garrett’s vehicle was struck by a driver who was high on heroin. When his supervisor, Don McGrail, received the news, he was devastated. "It was the worst accident involving our employees that I can think of in my 23 years," Don said. But since that time, Garrett never let pessimism get the best of him. Four days a week, he goes to physical therapy at Journey Forward. This incredible organization makes it their mission to help those with spinal cord injuries. The founder, Dan Cummings, knows firsthand the struggles it can be to receive adequate physical therapy. After a diving accident, Dan was left paralyzed and everyone said he would never walk again. When insurance ran out, Dan was forced to find other places to rehabilitate and, 19 years later, he’s walking on his own. Garrett and Don will be running the Boston Marathon to raise money for Journey Forward. They were inspired to run the race by the father and son duo of ‘Team Hoyt.’ For years, dad Dick ran marathons and triathlons while pushing his quadriplegic son, Rick, the entire way. Their story and determination captured the hearts of the world and they’ve inspired many to take on these seemingly impossible challenges. Like Team Hoyt, Don will push Garrett for 26.2 miles over the course of the marathon. What an incredible story!

Song of My Heart

My first original song called "Song of My Heart." It is a humble prayer put to words and music.

I begin each morning with prayer and scripture study. One morning during my quiet time, the Lord placed a song in my heart. I immediately grabbed a piece of blank paper and began to write down the words that started to flow freely. Not only was I given the words for the song through inspiration, but the Lord also placed the melody of the song in my heart, and in about 45 minutes, the rough draft of what is now “Song of My Heart” was created. The song is just as its title proclaims – the “Song of My Heart.” It is a prayer, my prayer – “Lord, lead me by thy mighty hand, guide me and show me the way” – put to words and music.

As I sit here and reflect upon my life’s journey thus far, I am forever reminded of the sweet grace and tender mercies of the Lord. He is the Captain of my ship and He has piloted this ship through some tumultuous storm-tossed seas. Without my hand in His, I know I’d surely fail. I would be living my life with no thought in mind, just a ship without a sail.

Laurie Ditto was a depressed woman. She went to the IHOP Conference and she had an out of body experience. She was taken heaven. She saw Jesus. She saw her vision that Jesus and her were dancing. She also taken to hell later on. She saw many Christians were in hell. She said that "Once save and forever saved" is false doctrine. We may loose our salvation so we must live in repentance life. Jesus also said that He is coming sooner than we think.

Coworkers Surprise Father With Reunion With Daughter

When a father couldn’t afford to be reunited with his daughter in Portland, his generous coworkers surprised him with an all-expense paid trip! What an incredible gift, and it brought the father to tears. Todd Palmer’s daughter, Sydney, was playing in the NCAA basketball tournament in Portland, Oregon. As much as he wanted to be there, Todd did not have the vacation time or the money to fund the cross-country trip. That’s when his sweet coworkers stepped in. “That kind of hit some of us a little bit hard,” explains one of his coworkers. “That dad couldn’t be with his daughter to celebrate that kind of moment. So, we as a collective group called your sister, Rhonda, who is a travel agent…We talked to your principal and your wife…And we want to send you as a gift from this organization from the pockets of its individual members.” As Todd’s coworker is explaining the planning that went into this surprise, Todd just cannot believe what is happening. He keeps shaking his head and wiping away his tears. He is completely overwhelmed by his coworkers’ generosity! “We’ve already purchased your airline ticket. You leave Friday morning for the city of Portland. You come back on Sunday…Jordan is going to give you some spending cash so that you can Uber, so that you can eat, and so you can do all of those things without one bit of worry.” Todd must have felt incredibly blessed by such a thoughtful gift from his coworkers! And his daughter, Sydney, was extremely grateful as well. How great it must have been to have her dad there with her, sharing in such a special moment together. “I was just kind of overwhelmed with joy,” she says. “Because people are so good.” What a great story to remind us to live our lives with a generous heart!

Child Prodigy Pianist Anwen Performs On Little Big Shots

Little Anwen is a child prodigy pianist and, today, she’s sharing her incredible talent on Little Big Shots. This popular television program showcases children and their incredible talent. These skilled performers come from every corner of the world and it is truly amazing to see them shine. Today, we’re meeting Anwen and her talent is awe-inspiring. Anwen was just six years old when she was accepted into Julliard, a prestigious performing arts school in New York. She was the youngest person to ever be admitted and that is a testament to her skill and talent. As Anwen plays on stage, the audience looks on in amazement. I know that it takes so much time and practice in order to perfect these numbers but Anwen shows no signs of difficulty. Note after note, she continues to flawlessly hit the keys on the piano. It always amazes me to see children stepping up to an instrument and performing just like an adult, or even better. When we see kids, we don’t expect them to be at the same level as an older performer. But sometimes, a child with a rare gift emerges and completely blows everyone away. That’s exactly what is happening with Anwen on Little Big Shots. Her talents have surpassed those around her and she’s even outperforming other experts in the field. If she’s already this good right now, I cannot imagine what she will sound like in the future. Anwen certainly won over our hearts and I hope we continue to hear more from this talented and adorable pianist.

Niece Surprises Uncle With Down Syndrome With Promposal

It was a heartwarming moment captured on camera when this niece asks her uncle with Down Syndrome to go to the prom. 45-year-old Mark has never been to the prom before. So, when it came time for his niece’s high school dance, she decided to pull off the ultimate promposal. Promposals are a recent sensation that has taken the Internet by storm. Teens will come with elaborate ways to ask someone to go to prom and, usually, take a video of the moment. These promposals can range from a sign on a poster board to a full on flash mob outside of the school. But of all the ones I’ve seen, none have touched my heart quite like this one. Just watch as Uncle Marky is blindfolded and led outside. When he finally uncovers his eyes, he sees his loving niece holding a decorated sign and balloons. In big letters, she wrote the words ‘Will you go to prom with me?” As Mark read the sign, he immediately started to light up. Then, he gave his niece an enthusiastic ‘yes!’ This will be the very first time Mark attends prom and it’s definitely going to be a night to remember. I think it is so sweet that his niece would think of him during this special moment in her high school life. This just goes to show the loving and caring nature of this teenager. Who else was wiping away a few tears when these two shared a sweet embrace?

Children's Choir Reduce Judges To Tears On Britain's Got Talent

The Flakefleet Primary School earned the first golden buzzer of the season when this children’s choir performed a rousing Queen audition on Britain’s Got Talent. Headteacher David McPartlin leads this incredible group of talented students. When they arrived on stage, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. There were only 5 students and they looked a bit apprehensive. But when the music started, everything changed in an instant. The choir starts to belt out the iconic lyrics to ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ from Queen. “Tonight, I'm gonna have myself a real good time I feel alive and the world I'll turn it inside out, yeah And floating around in ecstasy So don't stop me now don't stop me 'Cause I'm having a good time, having a good time” Students start to appear from both sides of the stage and that’s when the fun begins. There are all kinds of costumes and acrobatics happening across the floor while the choir continues to sing. One judge described the audition by saying, “That was absolute chaos and absolute joy.” But it was judge David Walliams who was led to tears by the performance. “This is just one of the most joyous things I’ve ever seen and I think you’ve just made all our hearts soar today. And it’s what you want your childhood to have been like and what your children’s childhood to be like, which is just full of unbridled joy.” After a reaction like that, there was only one thing left for David to do. He reached over and pressed the golden buzzer sending The Flakefleet Primary School straight through to the live shows.

Hope For Paws Rescues Pregnant Dog Living On The Streets

Hope For Paws has done it again with another great animal rescue! This time around they rescued a pregnant dog living on the streets of L.A. For four months, a compassionate woman named Sonya fed the stray dog. She named her Sally and noticed that she was pregnant. That’s when she gave Hope For Paws a call to help her get Sally off the streets. The rescue mission started with leading Sally to an enclosed area. This way they would be able to leash up the dog safely without her running out into the street. The dog was scared at first to be closed in and was very timid when she was around people. It took patience and a helpful plastic gate, but after some time had passed, the rescuers were able to contain Sally and put a leash on her. As soon as Sonya started petting and hugging Sally she calmed down. They took the dog to get a nice bath in preparation for her labor. How relieved Sally must have felt to be off the streets and have a safe place to stay and deliver her puppies! After getting cleaned up, Sally was taken to her foster home, which was found through The Lovejoy Foundation. She then gave birth to four adorable puppies! Their names are Mustang, Wilson, Nova, and Chevy. And to think that if Sally hadn’t been rescued, she would have given birth to those sweet, little puppies on the street. Thank goodness that wasn’t the case and the puppies weren’t exposed to any danger. What a joy dogs and puppies are! And how wonderful to see God’s precious creatures rescued and placed in safe, loving homes. We’re praying that Sally and her puppies will be adopted soon and find a home with a new family.

81-Year-Old Roller Skater Still Goes To The Rink Twice A Week

You may not believe it, but this roller-skating queen is 81-years old! And she stays youthful by trying to go to the skating rink at least twice a week. Edna Davoll currently lives in Bronx, New York but grew up roller skating in Columbus, South Carolina. She fell in love with roller skating as a young girl, and it is still one of her favorite activities to do. “When I’m skating, it’s such a joy! It’s like your heart rate goes up, and you feel like you had a good workout afterwards,” explains Edna. Clearly Edna has found a great activity to help her stay youthful! When you watch her on her roller skates, she is so graceful and nimble while she skates all over the floor. Throughout the years, Edna has many fond memories from going to the roller rink. “Back in 1980, the rinks were filled to capacity. Music was good and everybody had good attitudes and was there to enjoy. We would go 4 or 5 times a week because they had so many skating rinks at that time.” But in this day and age, the popularity of roller-skating rinks has somewhat decreased. “Unfortunately, so many rinks have closed down in the last 10-15 years,” says Edna. “I just hope somewhere along the way that some organization will come and reopen some of the rinks for the younger kids so that they can have the pleasure that I had.” By the looks of it, Edna doesn’t seem to be giving up roller skating anytime soon. And good for her! “I’m going to go until I can’t go anymore,” she declares. “It keeps me groovy, it keeps me moving. When you leave the skating rink you feel like you have no worries in the world.” What an inspiration! She just goes to show us that age is just a number. And when you find something that’s good for you and you love doing it, keep it up for as long as you can!

Contestants On The Voice Perform Avril Lavigne's 'Head Above Water'

Above Water,’ on The Voice. Avril stepped away from the music scene for five years while she fought a difficult battle with Lyme Disease. Once her health improved, Avril penned this song about leaning on her faith in tough times. “God, keep my head above water Don't let me drown, it gets harder I'll meet you there at the altar As I fall down to my knees” Today, Selkii and Cecily Hennigan are stepping onto The Voice stage for a beautiful duet of this inspirational song. These two have already won a spot on Team Blake but, now, they’ve reached the battle rounds where contestants face off against one another while singing a duet. Afterwards, the coaches will weigh in with their comments and decide who will move on to the next round of competition. Both of these powerhouse vocalists bring something special to the table and every single note of ‘Head Above Water’ is performed flawlessly. “God, keep my head above water I lose my breath at the bottom Come rescue me, I'll be waiting I'm too young to fall asleep” This is such a personal song and a true anthem for those fighting any kind of battle. Sometimes, we need a reminder that only God can step in and save us. These powerful lyrics truly give us a renewed sense of hope and strength. I’m so glad that this beautiful song was performed on national television for the whole world to hear. Coach Blake certainly has a tough decision to make after this battle round duet.
