Woman Carries 55 Pound Dog For 6 Hours To Save His Life

During a difficult hike last summer, a woman found a wounded dog while she was climbing and decided to carry him down the mountain to save his life. She carried this dog on her shoulders for over 6 hours! What an incredible, selfless act to save this precious animal. Tia and 76-year-old her father had already been hiking for three hours last summer and made it to the top of the mountain. While they were climbing down, they crossed paths with an injured dog whose owners were nowhere in sight. “He was pretty beat up,” Tia said. “He couldn’t walk.” She knew that he wouldn’t be able to make it down the treacherous mountain in the shape he was in, so she picked up the 55-pound Springer Spaniel, placed him on her shoulders, and made the descent down the mountain. The hike ended up being 6 miles and took her 6.5 hours to get to the bottom. “We had to hike through snow, we lost the trail at one point,” explains Tia. “It was one of the hardest things that I have done in my life.” At one point during the hike, her father took a picture of her laying down for a break with the dog sitting on her. The weight of the dog with the difficulty of the hike had her almost in tears, and Tia explains how she had to turn to prayer to get through the rest of the hike after her break. “I got underneath him to pick him up to go again, and again felt the tears coming. I said a little prayer at that point, because the weight was hurting my neck, I had a really bad headache, my legs just felt like they were going to crumble at any moment,” Tia shares. “As I said that prayer, I literally felt the weight lift off of my shoulders and I thought ‘Ok, there must be a lost hiker that’s behind me helping me. So, I turned around, probably five or six times, looking for someone. There was nobody there. At that point I knew that divine intervention was happening. I was getting help.” Once she got to the bottom of the mountain, she saw a note about the lost dog, whose name was Boomer. After calling the owners, Tia found out that they had unleashed Boomer while they were hiking, and he had run onto a snow-covered crevasse and slipped off. He had fallen from a one-hundred-foot cliff! Thankfully, only his front paw was badly injured, and an upcoming surgery will hopefully have him using that paw again. Because Boomer’s original owners were moving to Arizona, they had already planned to give him to someone else. But Tia was hoping for another outcome. “It pulled at my heartstrings all night long. When I woke up the next day, my first thought was ‘That dog’s supposed to me mine,’” explains Tia. So, she messaged the owners and explained how much she had bonded with Boomer on the mountain and would really like to keep him. The owners agreed, and now Tia and Boomer are together. She rescued him in his time of need on the mountain, and now she’s nursing him back to health after his accident, in the safety of his new home.

16-Year-Old Rushes To Push Man In Wheelchair Away From Tornado

An inspiring act of kindness from American’s heartland is seen when a 16-year-old boy rushes to push a disabled man in his wheelchair away from the harm of oncoming tornadoes. Seth Phillips knew he had to do something when he saw an older gentleman outside while tornado sirens were going off in his town. They were signaling that tornadoes were about to sweep through Jefferson City, the capital of Missouri. And after seeing pictures of the aftermath of that storm, those tornadoes were deadly and tore up everything that was in their path. The man in the wheelchair, a double amputee who is also legally blind, didn’t have enough time to get to safety, and that is when Seth stepped in. He was in his mother’s car and jumped right out to help the man. Since the car was not very big and it may have been difficult to transfer the man and his wheelchair into the car, Seth came up with a plan of action. He starts running and pushing the wheelchair up a large hill to get the man out of harm’s way. “My biggest fear was that this man wouldn’t make it home and he wouldn’t be alright,” explains Seth. While Seth is pushing the man uphill, his mother is following behind him in her car and recording his selfless act on her cellphone. “I am incredibly proud of my child,” says Seth’s mom. “He has a very good heart.” Because of Seth’s quick actions, the man in the wheelchair made it to safety. Seth and his mom did as well. Thank goodness! What a Good Samaritan Seth is! And what a great reminder for us all to take care of those in need around us. You never know when you’re helping hand could change someone’s life.

Marine And Stray Dog Form Friendship On The Battlefield

On the battlefields of Afghanistan, a Marine and a stray dog formed the most beautiful and unlikely friendship. And what they have accomplished together since finding each other is inspiring! In 2010, Sergeant Craig Grossi was fighting for our country in a remote and dangerous part of Afghanistan. During the aftermath of one of the battles he fought in, Craig saw a dog hanging out nearby the compound that he was staying at. “I’d be cleaning my gun or getting some water and I’d see him. He’d always make me smile,” explains Craig. “Something in me just told me to go up and approach this little dog. As soon as I got close to him, he started wagging his tail. He was hot, hungry, covered in bugs, and had absolutely no reason to show me any trust or love, but he did it right away. From that moment on, he followed me everywhere that I went.” Craig named the dog Fred and they became the closest of friends. But it wasn’t just Craig who loved having Fred around. The other Marines with him benefited from having Fred nearby as well. “The Marines that I was with, most of these guys have been deployed way more than me, and they have seen their fair share of street dog, but they, too, were not immune to Fred,” Craig says. “Whether it was 5 minuets or 5 seconds, when you spent time with Fred, he just stabilized us. He brought us almost a little piece of home.” When Craig’s time to leave the warzone came, he knew he had to take Fred with him. So, he ended up sneaking Fred into a duffle bag and bringing him on a helicopter with him on his ride back to base! Then he sent Fred to the U.S. to live with his family for four months until he was able to return to American soil. Adjusting to civilian life had some difficulties for Craig, and he found himself very unhappy with his life after coming back from war. But just like Fred helped Craig while he was in Afghanistan, he also came to his rescue when he was working in Washington, D.C. “I started walking Fred around D.C. and little by little I started sharing our story with people at the dog park, people on the streets of D.C. when I lived in the city,” Craig shares. “The more I told it to people, the more I realized I loved telling it, and the more I realized people love hearing it.” He soon turned his verbal stories into written ones, which soon became a book titled ‘Craig & Fred: A Marine, A Stray Dog, and How They Rescued Each Other'. “The more I wrote, the better I felt,” explains Craig. “I realized it was kind of my duty to share this story, because there are so many ways that it could have gone really wrong for both of us, and the fact that it didn’t, it’s kind of our place to do our part to share it.” Craig and Fred also tour around the country now, sharing the amazing story of their friendship at schools, libraries, and events. And they are doing such a great job at encouraging and inspiring others and remind people that “we can always dig deep and find a reason to wag our tails.”

Bullied Teenager Sophie Pecora Sings Original Song

15-year-old Sophie Pecora shares an emotional song about overcoming bullying on America’s Got Talent. This young girl always dreamed of singing on the big stage, but nerves kept stopping her from pursuing her dreams. “Growing up, I was a little shy and quiet. So, I felt very insecure trying to make friends.” With encouragement from her family, Sophie decided to audition for America’s Got Talent and it was truly a moment to remember. As a teenager, she faced many instances of bullying or alienation. This feeling inspired her to write an original song titled ‘7th Grade.’ “I think a lot of people have gone through some form of bullying. I really want to make it clear that everyone experiences it. It’s not just you. You’re not alone.” Sophie’s audition combined singing with rapping, all while she plays the guitar too. It was an emotional song that the judges and audience could relate to. After the performance, each judge gave Sophie words of encouragement and praise. But it was Simon Cowell’s comments that truly stuck out. He said, “So, obviously it was a very, very emotional song. You were telling something from the heart, and I could feel how much this means to you. And you have this delivery which is really cool. I like you a lot.” All four judges gave Sophie a ‘yes’ vote and she will move on to the next round of competition. This inspiring young teen is giving others a voice and letting them know that they are not alone. What an incredible gift from such a big talent.

11-Year-Old Giorgia Borg With Huge Voice Sings Original Song

11-year-old Giorgia Borg returns to the Britain’s Got Talent stage with another original song. When we first met Giorgia, she stepped onto the BGT stage full of confidence. She first brought the judges a song she had written on her own about parents not listening to their children. The lyrics were thoughtful and well beyond the capabilities of a normal 11-year-old. The crowd and the judges immediately took notice of this young talent. In fact, judge Alesha was so moved by Giorgia’s song that she pressed the coveted golden buzzer. That sent this young girl straight through to the semi-finals. Now, she is back with another incredible original song titled ‘Be Free.’ Giorgia showed no nerves as she moved all around the stage to this upbeat tune. You can tell that this teen puts her heart and soul into every song and she’s truly giving it her all. At the end of the performance, all four judges stood up for a huge round of applause. Giorgia has inspired so many others with her uplifting words and big voice. Even judge Simon Cowell had high praises for her saying, “You are a gutsy little thing. Your confidence is quite extraordinary. I really believe you are going to have a career in this business.” I definitely agree with Simon. I think we are going to be seeing a lot more of Giorgia in the future. What did you think of this original song? Can you believe she is only eleven years old?

Because when you're autistic, it's really hard to do what everyone else does. It actually has saved his life, playing music." Then, Tina guides her son over to the piano and gives him a quick pep talk. That’s when he starts to sing and play Donny Hathaway's "A Song For You." As soon as he hit that first note, everyone was in complete awe. This young man has such an incredible voice and tone. The judges had nothing but praise for Kodi after the audition was over. Judges Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough even had to wipe away tears from their eyes. Retired Cop Donates Kidney To Former Partner

Partners always have each other’s backs. And this is exactly what a retired cop did when she saw that her former partner was in need; she donated her own kidney to him! Megan Ambrose and Stanley Barsch spent their cop careers as each other’s partner, always riding around together on patrol and working side by side, day in and day out. They’re like family to each other. So when Megan heard that Stanley’s kidneys were failing him and only functioning at 10 percent, she knew she had to do something to help. “I just thought he had my back and now it’s my chance to step up and see if I can help him,” said Megan. She got tested and she was a match! She decided she wanted to give Stanley her kidney so he could have his life back. When Megan shared the great news with him, he was overcome with emotion. “You’re a superhero,” Stanley replies. “You’re my superhero.” The friends went to the Medstar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. for the operation. Their spouses were there for support. Megan’s husband shared how proud he is of her, and Stanley’s wife expressed how much Megan’s selfless act means for their family. Megan was the first to go into the operating room. Once her kidney was removed, she was taken into recovery. Then Stanley was wheeled into the operating room where the doctor did the intricate procedure of putting Megan’s kidney into his body. The operation was successful and the two are now forever bonded. “You’re stuck with me now,” Megan says to Stanley. “You’re stuck with me for life.” It’s a beautiful thing to have a friend that stays with you through the highs and lows of life, and that is exactly what you see when you look at the friendship that Megan and Stanley have!

Judge Shows Compassion After Grieving Widow Enters Courtroom

After a grieving widow shares her story in a courtroom, a judge shows her compassion by waiving the debt that she has accrued from parking tickets. Debra Neves stepped into the courtroom of Frank Caprio, the chief municipal judge in Providence, Rhode Island. His judicial work is filmed for a television program called “Caught in Providence.” At the start of this segment, Judge Caprio shares about how sometimes the people in his courtroom just need someone to listen to them. “Occasionally someone comes before me who just needs to vent,” says Frank. “That was the case with Debra Neves. She had a lot to get off her chest and I was there to listen.” Debra explains the situation of how her husband got a handful of parking tickets before he passed away. One was when they pulled their car up right in front of their house for him to have easy access to the vehicle since he was disabled. Another time, a ticket was placed on their car while Debra’s husband was still in the car! He was waiting for her to come out of a bank. Debra had intended on taking care of the tickets earlier, but her husband ended up in the hospital. She had to put all her focus into taking care of him, because he was terminally ill. Because the tickets piled up, Debra’s car got booted since she had yet to pay off her ticket fees. This led her to Frank Caprio’s courtroom, so she could get everything settled for her to get her car back. And while she is telling her story, she gets emotional as she recalls the passing of her husband and how great of a man he was. “First of all, there’s one thing that is abundantly clear and that is that you loved him deeply and he loved you obviously,” says Judge Caprio. He ends up waving the ticket fees and the cost for the boot so that Debra can have some sort of relief during her time of grief. What a compassionate judge who serves the people of Providence with such dignity and honor!

Dance Crew From Mumbai Slums Stuns On America's Got Talent

Dance group V Unbeatable from the Mumbai slums in India follow their dreams with America's Got Talent audition. This dance crew ranges in ages from 12 to 27. In total, there are 28 members of the group and many of them come from the slums of Mumbai. In these areas, there is no electricity and the conditions are very dirty. Many times there are seven or more people in one area that is meant for barely two. “Each day we pray for a better life, but in the slums, there is very little opportunity for us.” There are not many opportunities in these areas, but this group has found comfort and support through dance. Together, they are taking their unique talents all the way to the America's Got Talent stage and it's one audition that you don't want to miss. While sharing their story, the judges are automatically intrigued by the group. But once they start to actually dance, the entire theater was blown away. This fast-paced routine is a combination of dance and acrobatics that will truly leave your jaw on the floor. There are so many flips and twists that I barely keep up, let alone imagine actually completing these maneuvers. And just when you think it can't get any better, the group kicks it up another notch for the grand finale. V Unbeatable is truly a group like no other and they have inspired so many around the world with their story. I am so excited to see where this journey takes them.

Viral Voice Lexi Mae Walker Performs 'The Star-Spangled Banner'

Viral sensation Lexi Mae Walker belts out the patriotic lyrics to 'The Star-Spangled Banner' with just her voice and a guitar. In 1814, Francis Scott Key penned the iconic song during The War Of 1812. British forces bombed Fort McHenry, but the U.S. proved victorious during the battle. The next morning, Francis Scott Key spotted the American flag flying over the fort and he was immediately inspired. In 1931, The United States Of America officially adopted ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ as our anthem. “O! say can you see by the dawn's early light, What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming, Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight, O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming? And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there; O! say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?” We first met Lexi Mae Walker when she performed an incredible rendition of 'Let It Go' from the animated movie, Frozen. The video was posted to YouTube and instantly went viral. From that moment on, this young girl has continued to share her voice with the world. Today, she's taking one of the hardest songs to sing and she completely nails it. 'The National Anthem' is full of high notes that are not easy to hit but Lexi makes it sound effortless. This young girl has so much talent and I'm excited to see where the future takes her.

Susan Boyle Performs 'Stand By Me'

Singing sensation Susan Boyle performs a stunning rendition of ‘Stand By Me.’ Susan originally won over the hearts of the world when she appeared as a contestant on Britain’s Got Talent in 2009. When she first stepped onto stage, some people looked down on her outward appearance. But Susan easily changed their mind with her opera performance of ‘I Dreamed A Dream.’ From that moment on, Susan’s life completely changed. Even though she didn’t win her season of the popular talent competition, she became a household name selling millions of albums and touring the world. Today, Susan is back with her latest single, a cover of the iconic Ben E. King song ‘Stand By Me.’ “When the night has come And the land is dark And the moon is the only light we'll see No I won't be afraid, no I won't be afraid Just as long as you stand, stand by me So darlin', darlin', stand by me, oh stand by me Oh stand by me, stand by me” Over the years, this song has been covered by countless artists in many different genres. But none of those can compare to the opera voice of Susan Boyle. She truly puts a new spin on this classic and it’s absolutely incredible to hear. Susan has come such a long way from her first audition on Britain’s Got Talent. I always look forward to her performances and this one is no exception. We can all agree that Susan is a beautiful person inside and out.

Children's School Choir Brings Smiles With Semi-Final Performance

The Flakefleet Primary School returns for a semi-final performance on Britain’s Got Talent that will leave you grinning. We first met this incredible children’s choir when they blew the judges away with their joyful audition to ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ from Queen. (https://www.godtube.com/watch/?v=1EJ1BFNU) Headteacher David McPartlin leads this group of talented students. At first, everyone thought this was going to be a routine singing audition. But when the music started, everything changed in an instant. The choir started to belt out the iconic Queen lyrics and then students started to appear from both sides of the stage. There were all kinds of costumes and acrobatics happening across the floor while the choir continues to sing. After the first audition, the judges had rave reviews for the group. Flakefleet Primary School even led judge David Walliams to tears. He was moved to press the first golden buzzer of the season. Now, this incredible group is back for another stunning performance in the semi-finals. This time, they are dancing and singing to ‘I Need A Hero.’ “I need a hero I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night He's gotta be strong And he's gotta be fast And he's gotta be fresh from the fight I need a hero” I didn’t think that this choir could get any more creative, but I was so wrong. This performance includes everything from singing flowerpots to Superman. And they earned another standing ovation from the judges and audience. I just love how these children can bring smiles and joy no matter what they are doing.
