Police Officer Stops To Cut Elderly Woman's Grass In Severe Heat

One police officer is being commended for her kindness after stopping to mow the grass for a woman in the severe heat. When you are a police officer, your days are anything but predictable. When you start a shift, you never quite know what your workday is going to be like. And every officer knows that some days can be far more emotional than others. On Independence Day, Officer Bree Wilson was patrolling a neighborhood when she spotted an elderly woman attempting to mow her lawn. “Her face was flushed. She was sweating profusely. Definitely didn’t want to come back for an emergency call. Watched her for a little bit down the road, and my instinct was like ‘I need to go back and mow that grass.’” The temperature was very hot and Officer Wilson decided to turn her car around and take over the lawn care duties for the day. She asked the woman to take a seat and that’s when Officer Wilson started to push the lawn mower. A local barbershop owner spotted the scene and quickly ran over to catch a video. He was so overcome by this officer’s act of kindness that he wanted to share the moment with the world. “I was just happy to see her stop, take time out of her day on Independence Day and mow the lawn for somebody else.” After Officer Wilson finished, the woman asked how much she owned for the grass cutting. This incredible police officer left her with a few powerful words. “You owe me a smile. Pay it forward. Have a blessed day.”

Husband And Wife Sing 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' Duet

Christian couple Caleb and Kelsey Grimm celebrate the release of the new Lion King movie with a beautiful rendition of ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight.’ This special song was first featured in the 1994 animated Disney film. Celebrated artist Elton John composed this Academy and Grammy winning song just for ‘The Lion King.’ Now, we can hear this song again in the upcoming remake of the film. This Disney classic is a special song for many people around the world. Whenever we hear those iconic words, we may be reminded of a certain person, place or how we felt hearing the song for the very first time. “And can you feel the love tonight? It is where we are It's enough for this wide-eyed wanderer that we got this far And can you feel the love tonight? How it's laid to rest It's enough to make kings and vagabonds believe the very best” Today, husband and wife, Caleb + Kelsey are lending their voices to this beloved tune. Caleb and Kelsey are notable for their beautiful worship songs and talented covers. This duo truly has a gift for music and when they blend their vocals together, it’s always a memorable performance. When belting out the words to a famous love song, there’s no better duet than from two people that are actually in love. This Disney song is one of those classics that will go down in history and I’m so glad that it’s getting a new life with the new Lion King movie and this talented cover.

Beachgoers Form Human Chain To Save Swimmer Trapped In Raging Currents

An incredible viral video captures the moment that Good Samaritans come together to form a human chain and rescue a struggling swimmer. When summer arrives, many people will flock to beaches and the ocean. While this can be a relaxing and fun time, there are also dangers amongst those beautiful waves. One unsuspecting swimmer found out those dangers all too well on a recent trip to Panama City Beach. It was a Sunday afternoon when beachgoers noticed someone struggling to swim in the water. After being caught in a rip current, the swimmer was not able to escape. That is when these strangers banded together to form a human chain to reach the victim. This video clip captures the moment that swimmer is retrieved and quickly brought to shore. From there, beach officials took over and aided the distressed individual with medical attention. This incident could have turned out very differently if these Good Samaritans had not stepped in to help. It is moments like this that truly restore my faith in humanity. Titus 3:4-7 “4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.”

Aerial Hoop Dancer Matthew Richardson Honors Late Father With Audition

Aerial hoop performer Matthew Richardson honors his father with an incredible routine during the Judge’s Cuts of America’s Got Talent. When we first met Matthew, he blew the judges away with his difficult and awe-inspiring hoop routine. He easily earned four ‘yes’ votes to move on to the next round of competition. Now, Matthew is back with another performance, but this one is much more personal than his last. The talented artist is dedicating this routine to his late father who passed away after a battle with cancer. It was a moment that shook Matthew to his core. “I had a dream about my dad. I had a dream about losing him. It was a little too intense. I felt like I should check on him. I came home and they just told me that he had pancreatic cancer.” A month later, Matthew’s father died. Tonight’s performance includes emotional elements such as audio clips of his father’s voice. “I just wanted to create something beautiful for him. My dad was my biggest fan.” One movement after another, we are touched by this honest display of love and emotion. After the performance, judge Simon Cowell said, “I lost my mum and dad but after a while, I still talk to them everyday. If I have a problem in my mind, what would they say? So the fact that you were able to do that…I’m looking at your mum…that was very special.” Even though Matthew did not move on to the live shows, this incredible performance moved the entire arena. What a true gift!

United States Navy Band Performs 'Come Fly With Me'

The United States Navy Band takes us back in time with their rendition of Frank Sinatra’s ‘Come Fly With Me.’ This famous song always gives us a much-needed dose of nostalgia. “Once I get you up there Where the air is rarefied We'll just glide Starry-eyed Once I get you up there I'll be holding you so near You might hear All the angels cheer because we're together” Frank Sinatra continues to be one of the most recognized jazz musician names in the entire world. The popular blue-eyed crooner grabbed hearts in America and later internationally through both a singing career and fame in Hollywood. Over the years, many artists have lent their voices to the songs that Frank made famous. But these iconic songs are always a risky choice for a performer. The United States Navy Band had no problem covering one of Frank’s biggest hits, ‘Come Fly With Me.’ Just listen as the band flawlessly executes this beloved tune. “Weather-wise, it's such a lovely day Just say those words and we'll feed those birds Down to Acapulco Bay It is perfect for a flying honeymoon, they say Come on fly with me, we'll fly, we'll fly away, we'll fly” The United States Navy Band celebrates their 50th anniversary this year and I’m hoping that we continue to hear classic performances like this in the future. What a perfect and upbeat rendition of this beloved song. Who else was singing along as the band played this Frank Sinatra favorite?

Choir Performs Gospel Song On The Street During NYC Power Outage

One choir didn’t let the recent NYC power outage stop them from delivering their inspiring message. The outage caused a widespread blackout across Manhattan. The subway was brought to a halt and many people’s lives were disrupted. The Millennial Choirs and Orchestra was all set to perform at the famed Carnegie Hall that evening, but the loss of power caused the show to be canceled. That’s when the choir decided to put on their show for the entire city, instead of just one venue. The group made the following post of Facebook, “As you may have heard, we were not able to perform our final concert at Carnegie Hall this evening due to a widespread blackout that affected a large part of Manhattan for several hours. But in true MCO fashion, we made the best of the unfortunate situation and performed some of our pieces outside for passersby to enjoy during the stressful time. This is Brandon Stewart's arrangement of "I Stand All Amazed.”” On the streets of New York, this incredible choir belted out the words of ‘I Stand All Amazed.’ Once the video was posted online, it quickly went viral. The gospel song ended up reached millions of ears all over the world. After the incredible response, the choir said, “Although we regret that many of our participants and audience members missed out on performing and seeing us on the world-renowned Carnegie stage this evening, we feel blessed to have been able to touch many more hearts in an unexpected way from the street of beautiful New York City.” What an incredible way of turning an unfortunate situation into an amazing opportunity of fellowship.

Shy Bullied Teen Sophie Pecora Earns Golden Buzzer With Original Song

15-year-old Sophie Pecora returns to the America’s Got Talent stage with another original song that leaves us in awe. When we first met this talented young girl, she blew us away with her song, ‘7th Grade.’ Sophie always dreamed of singing on the big stage, but nerves kept stopping her from pursuing her dreams. With encouragement from her family, Sophie decided to audition for America’s Got Talent. She shared with the judges that she experienced many instances of bullying or alienation. This feeling inspired her to write the audition song. Sophie’s audition combined singing with rapping, all while she plays the guitar too. It was an emotional song that earned her four ‘yes’ votes from the judges. Now, she’s back for the live shows with another original song that is resonating with the entire arena. ‘Misfits’ is about feeling like you don’t quite fit in with the crowd. Sophie has always been shy and quiet, but slowly, she’s gaining the confidence to come out of her shell and be herself. After this incredible performance, Sophie earned rave reviews from the judges. Gabrielle Union said, “There’s nothing better than an artist that knows themselves and is very clear about their truth. And the way you expressed yourself, you just reached into our hearts and just snatched it right out.” But it was guest judge Brad Paisley who really connected with Sophie. After hearing her performance, he felt like he knew her. In fact, Brad was so moved by the song that he pressed his golden buzzer automatically sending Sophie on to the next round. What a talented young girl.

The talented Emerald Belles are back for another top-notch performance on America’s Got Talent. These Texas high kickers made quite the impression with their first audition on the popular entertainment competition. The Emerald Belles are a dance group comprised of 76 high school dancers. For decades, these talented ladies have shared their skilled dance routines all over the world. The Emerald Belles have performed at halftime shows, on cruises and even at Walt Disney World. Recently, they became viral sensations when a video of their award-winning routine from the 2017 Crowd Pleasers Dance Area Competition was posted online. Now, they’re back for the live shows and ready to earn their spot in this competition. The dancers pulled out all the stops for this dazzling performance to a Britney Spears song. Not only do they include their famous high kicks, but they’re also added multiple difficult dance techniques to their routine. Abandoned Pitbull Chained To Tree Gets Beautiful Rescue

In a heartbreaking video, a sweet Pitbull was abandoned with her neck tightly chained to a tree. Thankfully, the dog was rescued by a caring individual and was able to get the care that she needed. The Pitbull was found outside of an abandoned house in Fulton County, Georgia. The man who found her, Jason Flatt, was able to locate her from her yelps and cries. She was clearly in distress and calling out to be saved. “Poor baby. You poor thing,” Jason says as he’s petting the dog and trying to comfort her. He is able to give her some food to eat while he puts a leash around her neck. Then, with the help of some bolt cutters, he breaks the chains off the dog’s neck and sets her free from the tree. “Let’s go get you some help, baby,” says Jason as he is walking the dog to his car. The Pitbull appears to be very skinny and malnourished after she gets rescued, which makes you wonder how long this sweet dog was stranded out there with no way to get help. She must have been so relieved and thankful once she got rescued! “We took her right to the vet’s office. She really needed to be scrubbed out. And she was just seeking attention,” explains Jason. “She walks into the vet’s office – she’s licking people’s faces and wagging her tail. It’s like she just knew, ‘I’m ok now, I’m with good people.’” After being cleaned up and nourished back to health, the dog was placed into a foster home and was adopted shortly after. She was able to find a new, loving family to be a part of where she could feel safe and secure. Her new owners describe her as a quiet, mellow, and kind dog. “She’s just a good girl all the way around,” explains her new owner. “When I look at that video of her, I see a dog that was broken spiritually, physically, and mentally. She’s not that dog anymore. She’s not broken anymore!” Such a wonderful story of a beautiful rescue and new home for a well-deserving pup!

Musician Plays Saxophone For Cows In Field

It is not every day that you see a musician play his saxophone for cows in a field! But that’s exactly what Rick Hermann did when he decided to put on a jazz concert for the cows in his area. The idea came to him when he was out for a run with his wife. “You see these cows, and they always seem to be so curious,” says Rick. “I asked my wife ‘Do you think the cows will enjoy the saxophone?’ She’s like, ‘Let’s go try it.’” Later, Rick and his family take a walk over to the cows in the field, and Rick starts playing some songs for them on his saxophone. As soon as the jazzy music starts, the cows are immediately interested! They slowly walk over to where Rick is to take in the sounds that he is playing. He plays the cows Stevie Wonder’s "Isn't She Lovely," George Michael's "Careless Whisper," and The Champs' "Tequila." What a fun bunch of songs that I’m sure the cows enjoyed! Rick’s daughter, Erin, filmed the cow concert and posted the video to Twitter. The video garnered lots of positive attention from people online. “A lot of people have said that they were having a really hard day or that just so many bad things were happening, and this was just a little bit of positivity or boosted their moods,” shares Erin. It’s great to see a family be playful and have a good time trying out new things together, like playing your saxophone to a bunch of cows! Rick shares that it is great to learn a new skill, try new things, and challenge yourself. Because you never know, something that you try may bring a smile to the faces of a whole lot of people (and cows)!

Women Save Man Ready To Jump Off Of Overpass

Two women saved a man’s life who was ready to jump off of an overpass into busy freeway traffic in Los Angeles. They were on their way to dinner with their husbands, but when they saw the man looking like he was about to jump, they knew they needed to step in and help. The women, Toni Musso and Jen Principe, called 911, but before rescuers got there, they took it into their own hands to save the troubled man. “I just begged him, ‘Please don’t do this,’” said Toni. “The first thing I said was ‘We love you. Please don’t jump,’” explains Jen. When the women approached the man on the overpass, he was standing outside the fence with the rushing freeway traffic below him. The only thing between them was the thin fence, and they knew that they had to somehow help him walk off the overpass, away from harm. “I just grabbed his hands; I had his hands through here,” shared Toni as she was pointing to the overpass fence. “And then slowly, I just said, ‘Keep looking at me, keep focused on my eyes.’ And I just started walking with him slowly back to safety.” Once the police got there, they let the women continue what they were doing without interruption. Toni and Jen knew that they were connecting with the man and helping him to safety, so they asked the police to not intervene. The police gave them the space they needed to work. Jen says that the reason why she was so inclined to help this man was because of a story on CNN that she just watched two days prior. It was about a man, Kevin Hynes, who survived jumping off the Golden Gate bridge in 2000. His story reminded her how important it is to step in when you see something off. “Had I not heard Kevin’s story, I probably would have driven under the bridge, called 911, and went about my business,” explains Jen. Thank goodness that Jen and Toni did step in! Because of their actions, they were able to save a man’s life, show him that he is loved, and encourage him to not give up hope.

Grandpa Sings Opera Classic 'Nessun Dorma' On Karaoke Machine

One 70-year-old grandpa nails this opera rendition of ‘Nessun Dorma’ during a karaoke session. This famous song is featured in the final act of Giacomo Puccini's opera Turandot. Over the years, it has become a notable opera staple spurning covers from countless artists in all different genres of music. But it wasn’t until Luciano Pavarotti's 1972 recording of the song that it became a pop culture phenomenon. ‘Nessun Dorma’ also became a common tune used during sports events such as European football and soccer. Translated to English, the lyrics go like this: “None shall sleep! None shall sleep! Not even you, oh Princess, in your cold bedroom, watching the stars that tremble with love and with hope!” This opera tune is not an easy song to sing. But when this grandpa decides to try his hand at karaoke, he had no problem belting out these iconic lyrics. Just watch as he sits in the living room surrounded by family and friends with the microphone in hand. Grandpa hits those high notes flawlessly and never misses a beat. In fact, he’s making it look downright easy. And when he gets to that big ending, I was in complete awe over this karaoke performance. I don’t know about you, but I definitely was not expecting that bold opera voice to come out of this elderly man. This just goes to show that you should never judge a book by the cover. What did you think of this grandpa’s performance of the opera classic ‘Nessun Dorman?’

Entire Arena Remains Silent For Young Man With Autism During Graduation

A young man with autism received a heartwarming gesture from his fellow classmates at their recent graduation ceremony. 21-year-old Jack Higgins has severe autism. Loud noises, that may not bother others, greatly affect Jack. When it came time for his high school graduation, his parents wanted Jack to walk across the stage but they feared that the cheers and applause may be too much for Jack to handle. There would be nearly 3000 people in attendance and there was no way to shield Jack from the noise. Jack’s mother explained to Today, “He has a lot of sensory issues, noise being one of them. It almost seems as if it hurts.” That’s when the parents went to the principal at Camel High School and told them their desire to watch their son celebrate his achievements. Principal Lou Riolo and a few other staff members came up with the plan to hold a silent graduation. Before Jack’s named would be announced, Principal Riolo would address the crowd and explain the situation. As showcased in the moving video, the entire arena was silent as Jack walked across the stage and received his diploma. It was truly a heartwarming moment for everyone in attendance. Principal Riolo was not surprised by the reaction. He said, “I know this community. People will step up. You got to give them a chance to step up.” It’s such a blessing to see so many people come together to give this young man the moment to celebrate his hard work.
