Confidence can be a very admirable trait. However, there is a big difference between confidence and arrogance. “What makes the difference?” you ask. One word. Humility. To be humble is to put others first, but arrogance puts you first. This modern day parable of an arrogant CEO reminds us to be kind to everyone. The chief executive officer is curt with his wife on the phone. Notice how he tells her not to make him angry? He speaks from a place of entitlement, uncaring of how his tone is making her feel. Then he immediately shows anger to the patron in the gym. “Hey, buddy. Gym’s closed. Okay?” And if that wasn’t bad enough, the janitor tries to warn him about the wet floor before he slips. In turn, the CEO fires the janitor. Where’s the gratitude? “You’re fired.” His words are devoid of any sympathy. How many of us have had bosses, teachers, or even parents who thought of themselves as better than we are? They spoke down to us, giving commands rather than suggestions. And they didn’t want to hear feedback from us either. In their minds, they already knew more. What could we possibly have to teach them? These people do not exhibit love and warmth at all. Just the opposite. And in some circumstances they use their power to push us further beneath them. But there is hope. Here are two scripture verses I would like to share. “You planned evil against me; God planned it for good to bring about the present result—the survival of many people.” Genesis 50:20 “For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.” Luke 14:11 Even in our lowest moments, God can turn our situations around and make us greater than we were before, even greater than those who persecute us. People who fall into arrogance seek to advance themselves before others. Yet, God promises his followers the opposite, the people who put others first, He will exalt. In the video, God exalted the janitor. A seemingly hopeless situation of being fired was turned into an opportunity to run his own business. The man didn’t know the coronavirus epidemic was going to happen, but God did. God set the janitor up as CEO of his own company. What’s more, the man did not look down on his former boss later in life. Instead he gave a hefty tip of $100 for the service. That’s kindness. May we seek to model this same behavior in our own lives. Next time the storm seems too heavy to bear, I want you to remember, God is able, and He cares. Your kindness to others will pay off in the end. Don’t give into anger or despair. Give into prayer.

It’s safe to say that everyone can appreciate a God-given talent, especially in the sound of music. An artist named Naudo Rodriguez has a talent that is very much appreciated. Naudo came from a family of musicians, but as incredible as he is at playing the guitar he has never attended any music classes. He is completely self taught, which makes Naudo's style of playing completely different and very unique. He started at the age of just five years old, and Naudo continued to master his ability. In 1982, Naudo released an album called “"Vento Norte,” meaning “ North Winds." This album hit number one in the Brizillian music charts. After the release of the Brizillian number one, Naudo and his brother moved to London for 2 years to promote Afro-Brazillian music. A true natural at his own craft, Naudo strummed the guitar with a passion that you can’t fake. In music, you typically have rhythm and lead. Naudo was actually able to play both rhythm and lead at the same time. When Naudo played the classic ‘Stayin’ Alive’ originally created by the BeeGees in 1977, you can clearly see that he didn’t just play the music. He was the music. He hit the song note for note and he did it effortlessly. The room was filled with smiles, as people tapped their feet to the beat of the song. Naudo really hit the nail on the head, by playing a song that the majority of the audience already knew. Not many people have seen much of Naudo lately, but they surely wish to see him again. Naudo Rodriguez is an incredible man with an incredible talent, the world deserves to hear the beauty that he creates with just him and his guitar.

Animals get stuck in the craziest of places: nets, fences, in the walls, and even out on the water. And this cute little creature stuck in a very odd place. Watch this amazing video and see this homeless cat miraculously being rescued from a drain pipe. A stray cat was playing on the roof of a boarding house when terror struck, and the poor kitten fell down a drain pipe. Good samaritans who saw what happened stepped in to help the trapped animal. While one man filmed the rescue, another sawed away at the thick pipe, using a saw and screwdriver to get inside. Despite the energy needed to perform the rescue, they worked diligently for the entire process. At one point you can hear the man sawing the pipe pause and begin tapping. He tapped gently on the pipe to pinpoint the cat’s location. You can hear the sweet animal saying, “Meow,” a couple of times. The moment was heart-warming and surely encouraged the rescue to continue. When he created an adequate opening to rescue the cat, the cameraman positioned the camera inside of the pipeline, giving viewers the perfect view of the stray kitten. The animal looks so sweet and innocent, peering up at the camera from such a defenseless place. They move on to create a bigger hole closer to the cat and successfully perform their rescue. The kitten gave a little scratch as thanks, but the men performed a noble deed nonetheless. Have you felt like this kitten before? Stuck. I have. Just when you think there is no way out of the pipe you seem to be falling down, God can and will rescue you. How do I know? “The Lord will rescue me from every evil work and will bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever! Amen.” 2 Timothy 4:18 God has no intentions for letting evil consume us. His aim is to safely deliver us from the opposition into a life that is better than what we had before. Whatever you are encountering now, I encourage you to hold out a bit longer. Pray as much as you need. I too am learning to lean more on him. We won’t be stuck forever.

In this fun video, the five sisters of the group Cimorelli perform a wonderful Disney medley. The sisters in Cimorelli are Christina, Katherine, Lisa, Amy, and Lauren, and they range from the ages of 21-29 years old. In this video, they have their friend Andrew joining them on guitar. The beautiful medley of Disney songs that the group performs is dedicated to Christina’s first child that she is currently pregnant with. The songs that the girls sing are ‘Once Upon a Dream’ from Sleeping Beauty, ‘You’ll Be In My Heart’ from Tarzan, ‘Part of Your World’ from The Little Mermaid, ‘A Whole New World’ from Aladdin, ‘How Far I’ll Go’ from Moana, ‘Into The Unknown’ from Frozen II, and ‘Circle of Life’ from The Lion King. They all are so talented, and each of their voices are so different and beautiful! And the way that they blend their voices during different harmonies in the medley is so lovely to listen to. The Cimorelli sisters were all taught how to sing when they were very little by their mother. The group has been performing together as a band for over the last 10 years and are known for the many popular songs that they cover on their YouTube channel. It is clear that these talented sisters have such a strong and close bond with each other. They say that their parents always taught them to support one another when they were growing up. May these five sisters continue to use their talents to uplift people and bring a smile to their face! Ephesians 3:16-19 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Country super Luke Bryan tries to hold back tears after his 10-year-old son’s big birthday surprise. For years, Luke Bryan has been a staple in the country music world with hits such as ‘Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day’ and ‘That’s My Kind Of Night.’ He’s won countless country music awards and he’s even crossed over into mainstream music as a judge on ABC’s American Idol. While most people think of Luke as a lighthearted artist, he has overcome multiple tragedies throughout his life. When he was just 19, Luke was all set to move to Nashville to pursue his music dream. But the death of his older brother after a car accident almost changed his mind. Luke's father urged him to continue to follow his heart and move to Nashville. In 2007, while working his way up in the industry, Luke lost his older sister, Kelly. Less than ten years later, Kelly’s husband passed away leaving behind 3 children. Without hesitation, Luke and his wife Caroline, took in their nieces and nephew. While the girls were older and already in college, Til was just a young teenager. Luke and Caroline helped raised Til along with their own two boys, Tate and Bo. In 2020, it was time for Til to start his freshman year of college and the family wished him a tearful goodbye. Fast-forward a few weeks and Luke’s son, Tate, was all set to celebrate his 10th birthday. But the one thing he wanted was to see Til back at home. The family pulled off the ultimate surprise as the college student rushed into the kitchen to give Tate a huge hug. The sweet moment was too much for Luke to take and you can hear him in the background saying, ‘I’m literally crying.’ What a heartwarming birthday present!

Lovable Uncle Si is back and he is finally sharing his top-secret tea recipe. You probably remember this camo-clad hunter from his appearances on the A&E show, Duck Dynasty. The hit television program ran from 2012 to 2017 with eleven total seasons. Set in West Monroe, Louisiana, we met The Robertson family and learned all about their growing duck-calling business. From Miss Kay’s cooking to Willie’s hilarious ideas, there was always something going on in this close-knit family. But one family member that stood out among the rest was Uncle Si. Uncle Si served in the United States Army during The Vietnam War. He retired from the army in 1993 and started working for his brother, Phil, making duck calls for Duck Commander. On a normal day, you could find Si at the office telling stories, using his signature phrases ‘Jack!’ and ‘Hey!’ and drinking some iced tea from a green Tupperware cup. Uncle Si’s tea was so popular that he even had his own lookalike cup released to the public. “Most people drink coffee. I drink tea. And it’s not hot.” Now, Uncle Si is sharing that iconic tea recipe with the world and it wouldn’t be Uncle Si if he didn’t add in a bit of storytelling. You’ll laugh along as he recalls appearing on the Doctor Oz show and discussing healthy habits. Uncle Si is definitely a character and I loved catching up with him during this unique cooking lesson. Who else is an iced tea lover?

During a time with fear and chaos, being kind to one another may seem to some that it has become pretty much unheard of. Since the Coronavirus pandemic has started, it has really put a halt in our day to day life, making it hard to even do simple things like go to the store, get food etc. without the risk of getting infected. More and more people have begun to start working at companies such as UberEats, and DoorDash to make some money, as well as be able to keep a job in the world today while things have been so difficult. Dawson ‘Daws’ Gurley’s YouTube Channel called BigDawsTv has over 7 million subscribers, and often shares pranks and other hidden camera videos. This isn’t the only time the channel has featured acts of kindness. In other videos, they have handed out free phones to strangers, and they have another video of them tipping delivery drivers. In this video, YouTube star Daws orders one or two items off of a delivery service company, and he waits on the orders to be delivered. The drivers are very friendly and polite to him, hand him his order, and back away to social distance. Even though tips are allowed, they clearly aren’t expecting one as they tell him to have a nice day and turn to get back in their cars. But then Daws tells them that he is going to bless them with a $1,000 tip. Most of them had shock on their face and believed it was a prank. But there is also a lot of gratitude for what this tip meant for them. One particular woman burst into tears when given the money, “You have no idea what you have done for me,” said the woman. This young woman, Indy, had just gone through a terrible loss. “I lost my baby just three months ago,” she continued, “and I have hospital bills.” As the heartbroken woman sobbed, she then said gratefully,”You have no idea what this is going to do for me and my family.” Daws went on to surprise more delivery drivers and then went back into his house for the day. That’s when he noticed one of the delivery drivers returned to the house and left a letter in his mailbox. Curious, he read the letter, which said in part, “Thank you very, very much. You have lifted my heart toward humanity today and showed me there is kindness in this world.” She continued, “The world is good and my heart is full. God Bless!” Indy shared more information about why the money had meant so much to her. Recently she had been laid off from her job of nine years, and then had a stillbirth a month later, and she is now struggling with health issues of her own. BigDawsTV was so touched by Indy’s story, that even after giving her a $1,000 tip, they went on to set up a GoFundMe for Indy and her family. This just goes to show that God works in mysterious ways, and you truly never know how He may answer your prayers and meet your needs!
