Bullied 11-Year-Old Roberta Battaglia Inspires With 'Scars To Your Beautiful'

You may remember Roberta from her first audition. When Roberta first stepped on stage, she was full of nerves. Before her performance, she even needed a moment to calm herself. But as soon as the music started, we all realized that Roberta is unlike any other voice on the show. She belted out the lyrics to ‘Shallow’ by Lady Gaga and had the entire theater on their feet. Roberta was overcome with emotion and even shared that she experience bullying so this moment of acceptance meant a lot. The entire performance and touching backstory was enough for Roberta to earn the golden buzzer from newest judge Sophia Vergara. For her next performance, Roberta poured her heart out with a stunning rendition of ‘You Say’ during the semi-finals. Now, she is in the finals and this young talent isn’t holding anything back. “But there's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark You should know you're beautiful just the way you are And you don't have to change a thing, the world could change its heart No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful” Over these past weeks, we have watched Roberta emerge from her shell and transform into a confident, young singer. Even though she didn’t win the competition, I have a feeling that we’ll be seeing Roberta for long, long time.

Young Street Busker Draws A Crowd With 'Hallelujah' Cover

A young street busker left the crowd in awe with his incredible rendition of ‘Hallelujah.’ Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ is one of the most popular songs of all time. The powerful song was originally released in 1984, but it wasn’t until Jeff Buckley released the song on his 1994 album, ‘Grace’ that the song really started to gain momentum. Since that time, it’s become a worldwide phenomenon and truly cemented itself in music history. Over the years, many artists have covered the tune, which sounds like a perfect blend of a rock ballad and a gospel song. “Well I've heard there was a secret chord That David played and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do you? Well it goes like this The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift The baffled king composing Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah” Today, young Ross Anderson is putting his own spin on this iconic song while performing on the streets in Glasgow. As you listen to him belt out these famous words, you start to wonder why Ross isn’t performing in arenas. He is truly a talented vocalist. One viewer commented, “That nearly made me cry. Beautiful. I couldn't believe people were just walking past you.” And I have to agree with that comment. A performance like this is one that will stop you right in your tracks. Who else wants to see more from this young man in the future? I know I sure do!

College Trombone Player Nails His Solo Performance And The Crowd Goes Wild

Music can be very exciting, especially when you are the one delivering the tunes. This college trombone player nails his solo performance and the crowd goes wild. This performance happened at the Benedict College homecoming last year in October. Huge scores of people cheer and move as their bands deliver music to the crowd. They represent Benedict College well in their trombone competition against the competitor, Miles College. The football teams walk across the field. Cheerleaders rest on the bleachers along with fans, students and their families there to celebrate the day. This scene is very reminiscent of a life before pandemic, but also shows something to hope for after the crisis has passed. The trombone player starts playing with his band from the bleachers. When the one guy begins his solo feature as his band plays alongside him, people don’t initially react. But once the music lands with the crowd, they get wild. People turn and cheer, nodding their heads along with the music. Then they cheer the band on until the music finishes. Homecoming is always that special day of college where you celebrate school pride, enjoy good food, watch a good sports game, and of course listen to good music. Benedict College is located in Columbia, South Carolina. This institution is a liberal arts school, founded in 1870 by Bathesheba A. Benedict. The school started under the spiritual direction of the American Baptist Home Mission Society, headed by Bathesheba. $13,000 was given toward buying the original 80-acre plantation to serve as a place of learning for newly freed brown Americans. Today the college continues to operate with the majority of its student body consisting of brown Americans, about 34 baccalaureate programs, and around 2,100 students enrolled.

Amazing Opera Duo Sings 'The Prayer' During BGT Audition

In this incredible performance, an amazing opera duo sings ‘The Prayer’ during their Britain’s Got Talent audition. “I pray you'll be our eyes and watch us where we go And help us to be wise in times when we don't know Let this be our prayer when we lose our way Lead us to a place, guide us with your grace to a place where we'll be safe” Opera singers 17-year-old Jonathan Antoine and 16-year-old Charlotte sing an incredible rendition of ‘The Prayer‘ that shocks the judges and audience into a standing ovation. But what is sweetest about this duo is their heartfelt relationship. “I’ve always had sort of problems with my size since I can remember,” Jonathan shares in an interview before his audition. He was bullied in primary school and it damaged his confidence a lot. “I’m quite protective of Jonathan,” said Charlotte. “If I was there and someone said something to him, I couldn’t sit there with my mouth shut. Before you make a judgement on someone, you really need to get to know them.” “Charlotte has been a really big help to me in terms of confidence and making me a better performer,” Jonathan explained. “And I really don’t think that I’d be going up on stage today if I didn’t have Charlotte by my side.” While singing on stage together, Jonathan and Charlotte knocked it out of the park with their rendition of ‘The Prayer.’ The pair blew everyone out of the water and surprised the audience with their tremendous talent. They even got a standing ovation from all the judges and the whole room! What a spectacular performance! No wonder this opera duo got 4 yeses from the judges! With their sweet friendship and wonderful voices, these two will go far and continue to bring joy to others with their music.

Selena Gomez Sings 'The Blessing' From Kari Jobe

A neon sign lights the wall reading, “I need to lose you to find me”. Selena is in a studio with two other women, one behind a piano, and the other sitting beside her. All three sing in unison to this uplifting song. They mix a harmonious array of vocals as they perform a cover to Kari Jobe’s song, which features Cody Carnes. Each of them sing as though they are one person, making their individual sounds almost indistinguishable. Their vocals reach their peak as they complete the song’s refrain. He is for you, He is for you He is for you, He is for you He is for you, He is for you He is for you, He is for you Humorously, a fourth woman hidden behind the camera says she forgot to record. They’re immediately wise to her joking though. The lyrics of the song speak to God’s desire to show his people favor and peace. The Lord bless you And keep you Make His face shine upon you And be gracious to you The Lord turn His Face toward you And give you peace Kari’s song is a great reminder that God is for all of us, now and forever. Not only that, God wants to support our future generations. His love continues on an ongoing basis. The Bible also reminds us of this. “For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.” (Psalms 30:5) Whatever season you are in right now, know that God’s favor rests upon you now and forever. His love will be consistent throughout each season until the day He calls you home.

Abandoned Kitten Cries For Help While Stuck In Sewer

An abandoned kitten cried for help and they found it trapped in the sewer! Just when we think this world is filled with careless people, a rescue attempt in the middle of the night reminds us there are still good humans out there. While this may sound like a story about humans, it’s actually about a kitten that reminds us of how God created compassion in each of us. Late one evening, Oscar and Jacky--owners of a taco truck called, “Tacos De Birria De Res,” and Roman Livingston, heard pitiful cries coming from a drain storm. A poor, baby kitten that wasn't more than five weeks old was trapped more than six feet down. He was cold, alone, and got separated from his family. So, they called Hope For Paws, a non profit animal rescue organization in Los Angeles that came to the kitten’s need for help. The rescue team devised a plan to get him to safety. They dropped a cage with food into the drain to coax the kitty, they officially named “Taco” into the kennel in order to pull him to safety. What name could be more endearing that Taco? However, Taco wasn’t interested in food. He wanted his family but they were nowhere to be found. Instead, Taco ran further into the drain. Unwilling to give up, his rescuers opted to play sounds of crying kittens from Youtube videos, hoping to get Taco to come out. Family ties are sometimes stronger than hunger pangs because it worked to draw Taco towards safety. At first he was frightened but he was so happy to be in the arms of his rescuers and on his way to a safe and warm place. You’ll be happy to know this precious little guy is up for adoption at Hope For Paws. And who wouldn’t love a precious little kitten named Taco? Tacos are filled with savory goodness that reminds us of just how sweet Psalms 82:3-4 is. “Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”

1-Year-Old Hears Mom's Voice For The Very First Time

In this heartwarming video, a 1-year-old boy hears his mom’s voice for the very first time and his reaction is priceless! Baby Maison was born in Richmond, VA and arrived 4 months premature. He only weighed one pound at birth, but he is a fighter and continued to grow while he spent 158 days in the NICU. His family members and the doctors and nurses taking care of Maison in the NICU started to notice something was off during his time there. They began to realize that Maison was not able to hear them. But recently, at VCU Children’s Hospital, Maison was able to hear for the first time. He was getting fitted for his hearing aids, and while he was sitting on his mother’s lap, his first reaction to her voice was caught on camera! Lauren, Maison’s mother, starts to talk to him and his face just lights up! He starts to smile in the cutest way and even laughs a little bit. “That was wonderful to see. It was like he was waiting for this moment!” comments one person on YouTube after watching Maison’s reaction. “He's adorable and is such a pleasant baby. Some babies cry when they hear voices for the first time, but this little guy is an undaunted little trooper,” writes another person on YouTube after seeing the video. “I wish him and his family the best that life has to offer.” Maison can’t get enough of his new hearing aids, and his mother explains how she knows that he loves them so much. “Maison is so thrilled to be able to hear everything now,” she shares. “He just can’t take his eyes off of whoever is speaking.” God bless this sweet boy and thank goodness for the technology that lets him hear the voices of his loved ones!
