Dennis Quaid Makes Grand Ole Opry Debut With 'Friends'

Check out Dennis Quaid making his Grand Ole Opry debut with a performance of his new song called ‘Friends.’ The song reveals the value of friendship, individuality, and acceptance. And it is universally relatable. Dennis Quaid shares a bit about what inspired him to write ‘Friends.’ “I wrote it the week after the riots. I was there in Los Angeles watching and I was just so saddened by it, having grown up as a kid in the ’60s. The riots were happening and the civil rights movement. There was a lot going on then, but it seemed like even with the strife that was going on, there was still a dialogue that was happening,” he shared. “There were still people and faces to go with identification of those movements in that dialogue. Now days it doesn’t matter who you are, black or white or whatever, where are those people that are the voices of where we’re trying to go for all of us? And so, I just came home one night, sat down on the bed and it just spilled out in about 20 minutes.” Dennis Quaid recorded the song in Los Angeles at NightBird Studios. “Underneath the Sunset Marquis Hotel in LA, there’s a studio down there and I just produced it myself. I took my guitar player Jamie. We rehearsed it a lot and then we went in and that’s one take. It’s very raw. There’s nothing added to it,” he said. “It’s two guitars and a vocal and so I think I might go in and re-record it as well for a radio version…I’m really excited about that and I think it could take on a life of its own.” It’s great to see Dennis Quaid trying his hand at the country music scene, and we hope you enjoyed listening to his new song ‘Friends.’

Soprano Sings Unique 'Ring Of Fire' Cover

Listen to this soprano singer perform a unique cover of ‘Ring of Fire’ by Johnny Cash. “Love is a burning thing, and it makes a fiery ring Bound by wild desire, I fell into a ring of fire I fell into a burning ring of fire, I went down, down, down, and the flames went higher And it burns, burns, burns, the ring of fire, the ring of fire” The singer in the video is Anne Reburn. And she does a lovely job singing this song that is usually performed by singers with low and deep voices. “A soprano singing Johnny Cash. Don't let your dreams be dreams,” reads her caption of this YouTube video. In the video, she is singing all the different parts of the song. Plus, she is adding in guitar, bass, and piano parts. What a talented young woman! “Wow! That was some kind of awesome,” mentions someone in the comments section after watching the video. “I saw you on YouTube and my first thought was, 'How is this young lady going to get anywhere near a Johnny Cash baritone voice.' Well, you didn't. You went in the opposite direction. That was great, Anne!” “Great job on this, Anne! Love the interplay between the singers; you have always been good at that on the videos. Nice work on the mixing as well - well balanced. I'm thinking this one was a bit of a challenge in the arrangement, but you nailed it,” comments another person online! We hope that you liked this fun video of this talented soprano singing ‘Ring of Fire’ by Johnny Cash, and may your day ahead be full of joy! 1 John 4:16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

Tres palabras proscritas

'Ave Maria' Performance From Andrea Bocelli

Alongside the violin accompaniment of Anastasia Petryshak, Italian opera singer, Andrea Bocelli, is proud to release his fifth single, a cover of ‘Ave Maria,’ for his newly released album, ‘Believe.’ Andrea Bocelli has performed before with his children. A performance with his son, Matteo, went viral when they sang ‘Fall on Me’ together. This time, Andrea’s video features his 8-year-old daughter, Virginia. The video opens with a sweeping shot of Italy as Virginia Bocelli leads her father, who has been blind since he was a child, across the courtyard and into a cathedral. Andrea reverently prays and runs his fingers across the beautiful cathedral as he soaks in its beauty. Then, he beautifully sings ‘Ave Maria,’ and it takes your breath away. Originally composed in April of 1825 by famous Austrian composer, Frank Schubert, ‘Ave Maria’ has stood the test of time for religious art, being one of the most famous Christian songs for centuries since its release. Although the original song was composed in German, the phrase ‘Ave Maria’ is actually the Latin name for the prayer ‘Hail Mary.’ Translated into English, the lyrics are as followed: Ave Maria! maiden mild! Listen to a maiden's prayer! Thou canst hear though from the wild; Thou canst save amid despair. Inspired by both the spiritual journey of his adult life, as well as the powerful memories of playing religious music on the organ for rural churchgoers in his youth, Bocelli composed this inspired arrangement of ‘Ave Maria’ in March of 2020. In a statement on his musical career, Bocelli shared, “I don’t consider myself to be a composer, however, I am a musician, and sometimes melodies come to my mind, with essentially complete harmonies... Music that knocks on the door of my soul and which I gladly welcome and then set free by putting pen to Paper.” Not only does this video transport you to another part of the world in a time when travel isn’t possible, his soulful voice also lifts your spirit. “And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.” Luke 1:35

Nostalgic First Appearance Of Mister Rogers On The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson

He was one of a kind. A rare breed of people indeed. Do you recall this nostalgic first appearance of Mister Rogers on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson? Whether you grew up watching Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood on TV or you’re a new fan after seeing the recent hit movie about him, you probably know Fred Rogers as a remarkable and kind man. Fred Rogers by many accounts embodied the same type of love that Christ advocated for in the Bible. “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” John 13:35 More than seventeen years have gone by since Fred’s passing, and even more time since his appearance on The Tonight Show. The video opens with a parody done on the show about Mister. Rogers. In the video, instead of Mister. Rogers we get Mr. Codgers, a man with humorously sweaty armpits and smelly feet. Mr. Codgers gives the same love Mister Rogers does, but with a bunch of comically mishappenings too. Once the sketch ended Fred was welcomed to his seat to talk with legendary late night host, Johnny Carson. Unsurprisingly, Fred was not offended by that particular parody of his work. Johnny asked if Fred’s friends thought the parody was too harsh, and Fred replied that most of his friends like fun, just like everyone else. The two went on to talk about Fred’s background in television working behind the scenes of several hit NBC TV shows. Fred then shared that he left NBC to work for the first public television station in Pittsburgh. His friends at NBC told him he was crazy to leave an established station for one that hadn’t even aired its first show yet. Fred said he believed he was led to take the new job. This video is a touching reminder of Fred Rogers and his impact on us all, but especially children. He once said, “This is what I give. I give an expression of care every day to each child, to help him realize that he is unique… I feel that if we in public television can only make it clear that feelings are mentionable and manageable, we will have done a great service for mental health.” Thank God for people like Mr. Fred Rogers, and thank God that we have videos such as this to remind us of the impact he once had. History serves as a keen reminder of the people that once walked this Earth and the great messages they left behind. No wonder we continue to read about the acts of Adam, Joseph, Job, and Jesus. The legacy we leave behind matters, not just to our children, but all generations to follow.

'Someday' Inspiring A Cappella Disney Cover From Voctave

The A Cappella group, Voctave brings us a cover of the Disney song, ‘Someday,’ that is truly inspiring! Perhaps, just perhaps, the music from the Hunchback of Notre Dame can teach us something. The song, ‘Someday’ as performed by Voctave is really moving. And you won’t believe the sound! Voctave always amazes with their vocal prowess. Listening to their amazing balance and pitch as they take us back to our childhoods with the iconic movie of the Hunchback and be reminded that someday life will be better. Someday when there isn’t so much hurt, injustice, or need. With their amazing vocals ranging soft to powerful between all eleven members, this beautiful song starts out with vocalist Ashley Espinoza who is then joined by Kate Lott. Soon the rest of the team joins in on the chorus with lyrics that are so powerful and so needed in a time such as this. Someday. Life will be fairer. Need will be rarer. Greed will not pay. Godspeed This bright millennium on its way. Let it come someday And just when you think it can’t get it any better, their musical talents create such a beautiful melody with Tiffany Coburn, Ashley Espinoza, Sarah Whittemore, Chrystal Johnson, E. J. Cardona, Drew Ochoa, Jamey Ray, Kurt von Schmittou, Aaron Stratton, and Karl Hudson. Captioned underneath their video, “In times like these it's important to remember there is hope for a brighter future. We wish this video would fill you with that hope.” And we couldn’t agree more. Hope is such a gift in 2020. Who knew a song made for Disney would apply to these trying times? One viewer wrote, “I wished, a few days ago, you all could release a new song to help everyone’s troubled, struggling hearts. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.” While another viewer commented, “Jamey, you never disappoint with your classic arrangements. The sopranos hit just the right notes with the others singing a stunning supportive sound. I hope you come back to Jacksonville park again,"Someday" soon.” Get ready to be filled with hope and to be inspired that things will indeed get better because God says he came so we could have life and live it abundantly. Even in times like these. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13
