‘Mattress Mack’ opened his Texas furniture stores to provide refuge from the raging winter storm. In the midst of a winter storm that swept most of the nation, millions of individuals and families across the country were left displaced as a result of power outages, flooding from burst pipes, food shortages, and other unprecedented cold-related issues. In Texas, one man lent a helping hand to his community by opening the doors of his mattress and furniture store to Texas families who were left without a place to stay during this winter weather phenomenon. Houston Texas resident, Jim McIngvale, better known by his nickname, “Mattress Mack,” is the owner and operator of the mattress retail chain “Gallery Furniture.” After the winter storm hit Texas, leaving millions of residents without power, water, and food, Mattress Mack did not hesitate to open the doors of his Houston store to families without a proper place to spend the night. Mattress Mack is no stranger to taking in those in need, however. In 2017 Mattress Mack opened his doors to take in those in his area affected by the devastating destruction left by Hurricane Harvey. Now he’s back, allowing local residents the opportunity to come and stay overnight at his store, providing food, heat, bathrooms, furniture to sleep on, and above all: camaraderie to the members of his community. “We are more than happy to open this furniture store to serve the community because that’s why we exist,” Mattress Mack said in an interview. “It’s a tough situation and we try and make it a little easier for them by getting them on a good Tempurpedic mattress, making sure they have lots of warm food, and lots of camaraderie here--with 300 people here.” "In all things, I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive." Would you think that arms are just a detail in the world of Ballet? One 16-year-old with no arms is proving it with her amazing talent! Arms are just a ‘detail?’ Most people wouldn’t agree. Most would think arms are vital in the world of dance. But Vitoria Bueno, a 16-year-old with no arms defies the odds to become a ballet dancer! This beautiful, teenage girl is inspiring the world through the way she was born--with no arms. She is reminding us through God, all things are possible including the seemingly impossible. Vitoria was born in Brazil and fell in love with ballet at a young age. With the help of her parents and God above, she bravely joined the world of dance. As she grew in her skills, so did her confidence. When she dances, she seems to float across the stage. Her elegance is so mesmerizing, you almost forget she doesn;t have arms. Despite the fact she doesn’t look like the average dancer, her differences remind us, “We are more than our disabilities, so we have to chase our dreams,” she said. Vitoria not only is a ballet dancer, but she also is skilled in tap, jazz, and contemporary dance! In faith she followed her dreams and now she is inspiring anyone and everyone she encounters. She now has an audience that goes beyond the stage thanks to social media, with more than 17,000 followers on Instagram. Ballet not only provides her with an artistic outlet. It helps Vitoria gain the muscles and flexibility she needs in order to do everyday tasks for herself with no arms. She relies on her feet to not only get dressed and dance, but she uses her toes to apply makeup, open her bedroom curtains and so much more. This young woman proves just how amazing and unique God has created each of us and if we keep up the fight of having faith, we can reach our God-given dreams! “But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “‘With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” Matthew 19:26

A contestant with Tourette’s Syndrome earns a Golden Ticket, and gets a big surprise from a past American Idol star! When Anilee List and her family started noticing the development of some “unusual” physical and vocal tics at the age of seven, they were concerned with how this might affect Anilee’s life going forward. But with a valiant passion for musical performance and a supporting group of family and friends, Anilee was able to make the best of the hand she was dealt. At the age of ten, Anilee was diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome, a disorder that impacts the nervous system and causes those affected to make sudden involuntary movements or sounds known as ‘tics.’ “I didn’t wanna be the ‘kid with something wrong with her,’” Anilee recalled. Anilee did not let this disorder prevent her from pursuing her passion, however, and continued to sing and perform on any stage she could find. Then one day in 2011 Anilee was watching season ten of the TV singing competition, ‘American Idol’ when she first saw contestant singer, James Durbin. After making it through the initial audition round, James emotionally explained to judges how he was diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome (much like Anilee) when he was young, but how whenever he sang it would make all the tics seem to disappear. Having just been diagnosed that year, Anilee was suffering from a severe decline in her self-confidence, but after seeing James Durbin find success in the profession of her dreams, she once again felt like she could make her dream into a reality. At 20 years old, Anilee finally had her shot to do the same, and upon stepping into the ‘American Idol’ audition room, Anilee gave a chillingly good performance that earned her a standing ovation from all three judges, the chance to go to Hollywood to compete to be the next American Idol, and a personal video call from her inspiration himself, Mr. James Durbin. When a deaf baby hears Mommy sing a lullaby for the very first time, it becomes intensely clear that some gifts in life are too great for words. Even too amazing for the “right” or “expected” reaction. Sometimes, we’re simply stunned...in awe of the miracle of life. In this baby’s case, the miracle of the sound of her mother’s love. You can feel the immeasurable depth of devotion as Mommy rocks her tiny, wide-eyed baby daughter gently in her embrace, singing: “Rest your head, close to my heart, never to part...baby of mine.” These beautiful words are from a Walt Disney classic song, “Baby Mine,” with heart-tugging lyrics such as: Let those eyes sparkle and shine Never a tear, Baby of mine If they knew sweet little you They'd end up loving you, too... Coming into the world at barely over 4 lbs, Olivia Ervin was diagnosed with Cytomegalovirus, a common viral infection that causes hearing loss. At not even 2 months old, the hearing loss was confirmed after she failed two hearing tests. Olivia’s mom, Edrea Kemp, and her partner, Ricky, who filmed the sweet video, explained that after Olivia's birth, the couple was referred by the audiologist to Early Intervention, a program supporting parents of children with any form of disability. Edrea shares that it was Ricky who “held it together” when they received the devastating news, and pushed them to pursue options. Seeing her daughter hear for the first time, Edrea says “was a really sweet moment, also a really sad moment because she was a little bit overwhelmed, but you could see the wheels turning in her head as she was trying to figure out ‘what is this new sensation.’” The couple shared that just a day after getting used to her new hearing aids, and the new stimulation, Olivia was “all smiles” hearing her mom’s voice. What a wonder that God made a way to give Olivia this connection! Through the talent and compassion of medical experts, Olivia and her family can enjoy the blessing of laughter, song, and life in ways we may have taken for granted...before they shared this inspiring moment with the world. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” John 10:27

Viral violinist Karolina Protsenko and her mother perform a beautiful duet of ‘Ave Maria.’ ‘Ave Maria’ is a widely popular song from famed composer Franz Schubert. It was originally composed in 1825, but over the years the song has evolved into a well-known classical piece. “Ave Maria, gratia plena, Maria, gratia plena, Maria, gratia plena, Ave, Ave, Dominus” Today, Karolina Protsenko is putting her own spin on this iconic tune with help from her mother. You may recognize Karolina from one of her many viral violin performances. For years, she has shared her musical talents with the world through incredible covers such as ‘Hallelujah’ and ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love.’ Karolina is truly a talented teen and the Internet seems to agree. With over 10 million views across social media, Karolina is making a name for herself as an artist on the rise. Just listen as she performs ‘Ave Maria’ on violin with accompaniment from her mother on piano. “Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus, Et benedictus fructus ventris (tui), Ventris tui, Jesus. Ave Maria!” ‘Ave Maria’ is a timeless classic and it is not an easy song to perform. But, Karolina and her mother pull off this duet with ease. From the very first note, I knew that this was going to be a delightful performance and they did not disappoint. It is so amazing to watch this mother-daughter duo come together and share their mutual passion for music. I am sure that they are making memories that will last a lifetime. Who else agrees?

C’mon!” Then he starts to sing the popular song by John Denver. And what a smooth and peaceful sounding voice he has! “Almost heaven, West Virginia, blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River Life is old there, older than the trees, younger than the mountains, growin' like a breeze Country roads, take me home, to the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama, take me home, country roads” His four-year-old daughter, Winnie, joins in the song during the chorus. She is so cute and her enthusiasm to sing with her daddy is so precious. What a team these two are! Todd says that his daughter absolutely loves John Denver, so he was very excited to collaborate with her to cover one of his most popular songs. What a sweet moment this daddy and daughter shared! One that I am sure they will cherish for years to come. “That is some serious cuteness with a dose of determination,” comments one person on YouTube after watching the video. “This is absolutely precious!” writes another person online. “Great job, Winnie! Needed to smile today! Some of life’s moments take our breath away—like this sweet moment when a daughter shares her pregnancy news with her dad who is battling Alzheimer's disease. Lucky for us, Olivia Salza had the compassion, love, and foresight to capture her father's reaction. You can feel the anticipation building as she asks him “Do you know who I am?” His face lit with joy, he jokes with Olivia that she is her husband Nick, and they share a laugh. Then he assures her with a smile, he knows she is Olivia. But as Olivia moves closer, she asks if her dad can keep a secret and if he knows what a secret is. He does, saying with hopeful eyes, “don’t tell anyone.” His countenance as his daughter moves closer to reveal the secret makes you just want to hug them all. Olivia and her husband, Nick, had been struggling to conceive for three years. So there's no one better to share their miracle with first, than her father, who understands what it means to keep believing through a courageous battle. As they break the news, Dad has to cover his eyes from the overwhelm of emotion. It's so powerful to see her dad then quickly lock eyes with Nick Salza, his son-in-law, and encourage him about the glory of holding your baby. With eyes gleaming, this papa-to-be makes a cradling motion with his arms that has daughter and Dad crying happy tears together. Says Olivia, through heartfelt sniffles, it’s “what you’ve done for me your whole life.” After they all reflect together that her dad, although struggling with Alzheimer's, gets to be their new baby’s grandad, Olivia chokes up. She can hardly get the words out, that her hubby Nick is “going to be a dad for the first time!” Olivia and Nick shared that they’ve “prayed so hard” for this blessing, posting a beautifully-arranged photo of the sonogram image on Facebook. This first photo of “Baby Salza” is gathered among cream-colored baby booties, a pacifier, blanket, blocks, and a sprig of greenery. “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.” Psalm 127:3

Just try to keep your own feet from tapping as these talented teens amaze with an Irish dance set against a stunning Galway backdrop! Never mind the chill wind whipping about...the dancers’ enthusiastic energy completely warms your heart. It’s a thrill to watch their high-speed footwork keep pace with the lively tempo of Irish folk songs. Dancing in painted doorways, or on stones along the shore, these talented teens not only showcase their dance dexterity, but also the beauty of Irish history. The “Galway Girls” is an Irish dance troupe from the Hession School of Irish Dancing in Galway, Ireland. Their heart-stopping talent not only takes them to beautiful places, it even earned them star status in Ed Sheeran’s “Galway Girl” music video! This Claddagh dance performance was posted by Fusion Fighters, known as a “progressive performance company,” which launched on St. Patrick’s Day 2013 in Trafalgar Square. Fusion Fighters has grown to be one of the most influential dance companies worldwide...with over 150K followers and 500 million+ views. When this man’s family decided they wanted to welcome a new pet dog into their household, he argued against the decision. Once the dog moved in, however, Dad may have had a change of heart. This cute viral video was first shared to the social media sharing platform Reddit with the caption “Dad didn't want a dog in his house. Dad now.” The video starts off with a young golden retriever lying on what appears to be a bed that has been set out just for the dog. The retriever is laying on his side in a comedic, seemingly human way on the mattress, which has been fitted out with cute “Winnie the Pooh” sheets. The pampering doesn’t end at the retriever’s own mattress and sheets, however. Dad makes sure the dog has a pillow under his head, and even comes into the frame with a matching “Winnie the Pooh” comforter, which he lays over the dog before tucking him in. You can even hear dad telling the retriever, “Don’t worry we’ll see you in the morning,” before kneeling down and repeatedly calling the dog a “good boy” while giving him kisses on his head. As funny as it is, the story of “dad didn’t want a dog, but once we got a dog he fell in love with it” turns out to be a more common story than you may think. Memes have been posted all over the internet describing this phenomenon as a relatable event. In fact, Dads falling in love with a dog they claimed they didn’t want is such a common phenomenon, there has even been a subreddit created where users share their personal tales with one another. Maybe the love of man’s best friend is just so strong it can melt through the coldness of any stubborn dad’s heart. Jason Warrior is trying to get over his past, where his temper almost ended his music career. But now, this 25-year music teacher from Chicago is getting another chance at his dream. “I have had some experiences on television singing shows before,” shares Jason during his American Idol interview. “I was on The Four. I got a no from Meghan Trainor, and I responded out of my emotions. Because I thought I knew it all, I thought I was all that and a bag of chips dipped in hot sauce. But I wasn’t even close to being there yet. And I had to have that humbling experience.” He goes on: “So, that moment of immaturity, it almost completely destroyed my career. Doors started to close. Door after door, opportunities started to walk away.” But Jason persevered. “My mom taught me that you got to keep going. No matter who says no,” he says. “Yeah, I made a mistake. But I learned from it. And I intend to show that I learned it.” Before his American Idol audition, Lionel Richie gives Jason some words of advice. “Let me tell you something,” Lionel says. “If you try to go back and scream at the past, you’ll trip over the future. So, this is your shot again looking forward.” Jason takes his words to heart and gives it his all for his audition. And he beautifully sings ‘What's Goin' On’ by Marvin Gaye. The judges are so into his performance, and they even get up and start to sway around while Jason is singing. “Very few people can take a Marvin Gaye song and turn it into their song. That was phenomenal,” Lionel Richie says after Jason is done singing. “I’m going to say that that was one of the strongest vocals I have ever heard on this show. I’m very proud of you, cause it took a lot of guts to crawl back into that saddle.” What an amazing performance! No wonder Jason got yeses from all the American Idol judges!
