Family Band Performs Johnny Cash Classic 'Folsom Prison Blues'

Listen to this family band perform the Johnny Cash classic 'Folsom Prison Blues' right from their living room. “I hear the train a comin', it's rolling round the bend And I ain't seen the sunshine since I don't know when I'm stuck in Folsom prison, and time keeps draggin' on But that train keeps a rollin' on down to San Antone” Such a talented family! In the video, the dad is singing the lyrics and playing the guitar. One of the sons is also playing the guitar, and one son is on the drums. The young daughter introduces the band and stands in the front to add more energy to the performance with her dancing. “We're the Clark family,” reads the caption on their YouTube video. “Colt (the Dad) is a professional musician and Aubree (me, the Mom behind the camera) is a photographer. Together we homeschool our three children (even when we're not in the middle of a pandemic). We're keeping busy during our time at home by learning a new song every other day. We thought we'd record them and share as we go. Hopefully it brightens your day!” The Colt family goes on to share about why Johnny Cash’s music has always been special to them. “When we were dating our first kiss was during the movie, ‘Walk the Line’, hence our oldest son, Cash’s name. We had picked out his name long before he was born so it was a weird coincidence that our Cash ended up being born on January 13th, the anniversary of the recording of Johnny Cash’s famous live album, At Folsom Prison. We hope you enjoy our version of a classic.” What a great performance by Colt Clark and the Quarantine Kids! This family sure knows how to jam out and have fun!

Man Sings Pitch Perfect Etta James 'At Last' Cover

Home Free’s Austin Brown joins forces with Steven Martinez for a pitch perfect rendition of ‘At Last’ by Etta James. This classic song was originally written in 1941 for a musical, but it wasn’t until 1960 that it became the iconic tune it is today. Etta James recorded her own arrangement and the song went straight to number one. Even decades later, ‘At Last’ continues to be regularly played and covered by other artists all over the world. And whenever you hear those famous lyrics, it truly transports you back to another time and place. “At last my love has come along My lonely days are over and life is like a song, oh yeah At last the skies above are blue My heart was wrapped up clover the night I looked at you” Today, Austin Brown is putting his own spin on this iconic tune. You may recognize Austin as a member of the a cappella group Home Free. We met this musical group when they competed in and won the fourth season of The Sing-Off on NBC in 2013. Other members include Rob Lundquist, Adam Rupp, Tim Foust, and Adam Chance and they’ve become viral sensations with their covers of hit songs such as ‘Ring Of Fire’ and ‘How Great Thou Art.’ 2020 was an interesting year for people all across the globe. And while the pandemic forced Home Free to stop their tour, it allowed Austin time to discover himself as a solo artist. He used these unprecedented times to create his own originals and cover songs and they are absolutely incredible. Just listen to this amazing rendition of ‘At Last’ and you’ll be in awe. From the flawless notes to the soothing melody, this is truly a performance that you don’t want to miss.

Who is Jesus?

Years ago (when Jay Leno hosted The Tonight Show), he had a segment called Jay Walking. He would ask adults questions about subjects that even elementary school children should be able to answer and got some sadly ignorant answers. This video is about one question he asked which I was amazed at how few people knew the answer.

Lost are saved, find their way, at the sound of Your great name
All condemned, feel no shame, at the sound of Your great name
Every fear, has no place, at the sound of Your great name
The enemy, he has to leave, at the sound of Your great name…

'Hallelujah' Cover From One Voice Children's Choir

Listen to this beautiful cover of the song ‘Hallelujah’ by the One Voice Children’s Choir. “I've heard there was a secret chord, that David played, and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do you? Well it goes like this, the fourth, the fifth The minor fall, the major lift, the baffled king composing Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah” What an incredible performance! They all have such lovely voices, and the harmonies that they sing throughout the song are beautiful. It is wonderful to see all of the children gathering around each other and hearing their amazing vocals fill up the performance space. In the video, they have just one guitarist to accompany their voices and the choir director is leading them. The whole set up is so simple and pure, and it shows off what angelic voices they all have. “We had fun putting together this classic song that we love and have been talking about for a while. Thanks for being a part of our musical journey!” writes the One Voice Children’s Choir on their YouTube page. “This is the best cover of Hallelujah that I have heard so far, perfectly arranged and well delivered,” comments one person on YouTube after watching the video. “I love your performances. They always surprise me,” writes another person online to the One Voice Children’s Choir. “Each time they show how you can have fun singing, how much you can develop your passions. I will definitely come back to this performance with a smile on my face.” We hope that you enjoyed watching this beautiful cover of the song ‘Hallelujah’ by the One Voice Children’s Choir and it was able to brighten your day in some way. Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
