When You Feel Behind in Life | Your Nightly Prayer

Waiting on God can feel unbearable—especially when it seems like everyone else is moving ahead: marriages, promotions, healing, ministries, or dreams fulfilled. But Scripture reminds us that God's timeline is never late. In tonight’s devotional and prayer, we’re reminded that His delays are not denials—but divine preparations. 📖 “The last will be first, and the first will be last.” – Matthew 20:16 (NIV) 🔗 Read more devotionals at BibleStudyTools.com What may look like delay to us is often God shaping us for what’s next. If you feel forgotten or behind, this video is your gentle reminder: you are not late in the Kingdom of God. You are being prepared. 🙏 Tonight’s Prayer Dear Lord, As I lie down tonight, I bring You my comparisons, my impatience, and my fear of being left behind. I confess that I’ve measured my worth by the world’s timelines instead of Yours. Help me release the pressure to “catch up” and rest in Your perfect pace. Teach me to trust Your unhurried process and to find joy in what You’re doing right now, even when I can’t yet see the full picture. Tonight, I surrender my striving and my envy. Fill my heart with peace and contentment, reminding me that I am not behind—I’m being prepared for Your perfect plan, in Your perfect time. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 3 Things to Meditate Upon God’s Timing Is Perfect, Not Pressured: Have I surrendered my definition of success to God’s timing—or am I clinging to the world’s clock? Comparison vs. Trust: Am I measuring progress by social milestones—or by my trust in God? You Haven’t Missed Your Moment: Reflect on this truth—nothing meant for you will pass you by. Letting God Set the Pace | Your Nightly Prayer

Do you feel like you’re constantly rushing, trying to keep up with life’s demands, and running on empty? In tonight’s devotional and guided prayer, we reflect on Isaiah 30:15—a sacred reminder that salvation is found not in hustle, but in rest, quietness, and trust. As believers, we often know the importance of “slowing down,” but putting it into practice is another story. The world pressures us to stay busy, to produce, to never stop moving. But God’s pace is different. His rhythm is not hurried, but holy—marked by peace, restoration, and presence. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, spiritually dry, or emotionally drained, let this be your invitation to breathe, to realign with the heart of God, and to rediscover the strength that comes from stillness. When we surrender our schedules to God, He meets us in the quiet and renews our soul. 📖 Today’s Bible Verse: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength.” — Isaiah 30:15 (NIV) 🔑 Key Takeaways: God’s peace isn’t found in performance but in His presence. Hurry and hustle are spiritual distractions that rob us of clarity, joy, and rest. Slowing down creates space for deeper intimacy with God. The “pace of grace” is unhurried, focused, and aligned with God’s will—not the world’s noise. 🙏 Tonight’s Prayer Jesus, Thank You that Your way is better than mine. Help me to release my grip on the constant rush of life and find rest in You. Teach me to slow down and notice Your presence in every moment. Let me walk at the pace of grace—unhurried, unburdened, and full of peace. Give me wisdom to choose what matters most and courage to say no to what doesn’t. Thank You for the quiet spaces where I can meet You and be restored. In Jesus’ name, Amen. A Prayer to Guard Our Hearts and Minds | Your Daily Prayer

We often say “guard your heart and mind” as Christians—but how often do we actually live it out? In today’s devotional and prayer, Alicia Searl reminds us that spiritual vigilance is more than a nice phrase—it’s a daily choice to let God renew us and protect us from the world’s influence. Proverbs 4:23 tells us that everything we do flows from the heart, and without intentional care, it becomes vulnerable to fear, temptation, bitterness, and lies. Thankfully, Philippians 4:6-8 gives us a clear roadmap: prayer, gratitude, and thinking on what is true, noble, right, pure, and admirable. Whether you're a parent guiding your children, a believer fighting anxious thoughts, or someone trying to stay grounded in a chaotic world, this prayer helps recenter your heart and mind on God’s truth and peace. 📖 Today's Scripture: "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." – Philippians 4:7 🔑 Key Takeaways: Guarding your heart is an intentional act of spiritual discipline, not passive avoidance. Philippians 4 reminds us that peace comes when we align our minds with God’s truth. Evaluate your inputs: Are your thoughts and relationships drawing you closer to God or further away? God’s peace isn’t just emotional—it’s a divine guard over your soul. 🙏 Let’s Pray Together O God, we come before You with hearts open and minds longing for renewal. Guard us from distractions, lies, and fears that try to steal our peace. Teach us to stay rooted in Your Word and draw near in prayer each day. Protect our families, guide our children, and transform us to reflect Christ in all things. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Prayer to Abide in the Vine | Your Daily Prayer

Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, or emotional burnout? This daily prayer and devotional reminds you that you're not alone—and that your suffering does not separate you from God’s love. In this encouraging message, author Emily Rose Massey shares powerful truth from John 15:4–5 about abiding in Christ during life’s hardest seasons. Just as a branch can’t bear fruit without staying connected to the vine, we too need to remain in Jesus to find strength, peace, and hope. When anxiety and depression hit, it’s easy to feel disconnected from your faith. But God invites you to remain—abide—in Him. In your brokenness, He is still your source of life. 📖 Today’s Scripture Reading: “Abide in me, and I in you... apart from me you can do nothing.” – John 15:4–5 (ESV) Abiding in Jesus anchors your soul when anxiety or depression overwhelms. Spiritual growth often happens underground—in hidden, hard seasons. Prayer and God’s Word are lifelines to peace and renewal. You’re not defined by your struggle—you are held and strengthened by Christ.

Dwayne Johnson Grants Make-A-Wish Dream in the Most Touching Way

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson helped to grant a Make-A-Wish dream in the most touching way. The popular actor and wrestler went out of his way to help make one young man’s wish become a reality. Watch the short but heartwarming and tear-jerking video of The Rock making a young man’s day.

Kindness and love are in short supply today. The evidence for such a statement is seen all around us – television news broadcasts, on social media platforms and in the actions and words of our governmental leaders. For some unexplained reason, most people seem more focused on tearing one another down than building each other up. They’d rather yell and scream at each other than offer mercy and grace.

Sadly, the things that get people so worked up and at each other’s throats are trivial and meaningless issues, subjects that, in the long run, mean nothing. How much better could our world be if our first instinct wasn’t to yell and scream but to offer kindness, love and compassion? Dwayne Johnson is someone who constantly exhibits kindness and warmth for sick children and those less fortunate.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Dwayne met a young man, Nathan, while promoting his latest movie. After that, Dwayne and his team quickly worked together on another meeting between the two and putting together one heck of a surprise, a once-in-a-lifetime event for Nathan and his family.

Nathan is a huge fan of Dwayne and his many blockbuster movies. The two spent time together, arm wrestled, and even recorded a video for Kevin Hart, in which Nathan did his best impersonation of the comedian.

But that wasn’t all.

The Rock had arranged for Nathan and his family to enjoy dinner at an exclusive restaurant. Since Nathan is also a huge Lakers fan, he worked it out for Nathan and his family to visit, tour and spend time at the Los Angeles Lakers’ facility.

Ephesians 4:32 “And be kind to one another, full of pity, having forgiveness for one another, even as God in Christ had forgiveness for you.”

A Prayer for Our Unanswered Prayers | Your Daily Prayer

Few things test our faith more deeply than unanswered prayer. As our daily prayer and devotional remind us, when we pray with earnest hearts but don’t see change, it’s easy to feel forgotten by God. Discouragement, frustration, or even anger can creep in. Yet Isaiah 65:24 assures us that God not only hears us—He is already at work before we finish asking. Lynette Kittle reminds us that when answers feel delayed, we’re invited to draw closer to God rather than pull away. Scripture encourages us to pause and ask searching questions: Are we harboring unconfessed sin? Are we engaged in habits or influences that grieve the Holy Spirit? Or, as in Daniel’s experience, could spiritual opposition be hindering the delivery of God’s answer? Unanswered prayers are not proof that God is distant. Sometimes they are a call to repentance, an invitation to deeper trust, or part of a battle being waged in unseen realms. Even when silence feels deafening, we can cling to His promise: “No good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless” (Psalm 84:11). Today's Bible Reading: "Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear." – Isaiah 65:24 (NIV) Key Takeaways God hears and responds—even before we pray (Isaiah 65:24). Sin and spiritual compromise can create barriers to prayer (1 John 1:9, Ephesians 4:30). The enemy can interfere, but perseverance in prayer brings breakthrough (Daniel 10:12–13). Unanswered prayers are opportunities to draw near, examine our hearts, and trust God’s timing. Let’s Pray Together Dear Father, thank You for hearing my prayers even when answers seem delayed. Help me examine my heart and remove anything that creates distance between us. Strengthen me to persevere in prayer, trusting that You are faithful and good, and that You withhold no good thing from Your children. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Welcoming a New Season with Worship | Your Nightly Prayer

Change is never easy. As our nightly prayer and devotional remind us, the arrival of a new season sometimes brings joy and excitement—pumpkin patches, crisp air, and cozy nights by the fire. For others, it ushers in loss, nostalgia, or dread. Whether you’re welcoming autumn with open arms or wishing summer could stay forever, Psalm 100:4 reminds us that God is worthy of praise in every season. Unlike the shifting seasons of life, God remains constant—steadfast, loving, and faithful. Ecclesiastes 3 tells us that there is “a time for everything,” and even when the seasons of our lives change unexpectedly, His purpose never wavers. Our challenge is to worship not just in the comfort of what we know but in the unknown of what’s next. If this season of life feels uncomfortable or uncertain, lift your eyes to the One who never changes. As you step into what’s new, let worship be your way of saying, “I trust You, Lord.” The seasons may shift, but His presence stays the same. Tonight’s Scripture: Psalm 100:4 (NIV) “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” 🔗 Read more on BibleStudyTools.com 🙏 Your Nightly Prayer Dear God, Embracing seasons of change can be overwhelming and scary. Some of us welcome this newness with excitement, while others cling to what’s familiar. If we’re struggling to welcome this season, help us to look to You in the process. Remind us that Your presence goes before us and that we have nothing to fear. Teach us to praise You in the middle of the transition, to trust that You are working in every detail, and to find peace in knowing You remain the same through every change. We love, praise, and thank You, Jesus. Amen.

Letting Go of What Didn't Happen | Your Nightly Prayer

Unmet expectations can cut deep—sometimes deeper than we realize. As our nightly prayer and devotional remind us, maybe it was something small, like being forgotten on your birthday, or something life-altering, like a loved one who abandoned you or a dream that never came to pass. When what we hoped for doesn’t happen, the disappointment can quietly turn into bitterness, anger, or regret. Isaiah 43:18 reminds us that God calls us not to dwell on the past. He isn’t asking us to pretend that our pain doesn’t exist—He’s inviting us to release our grip on it so He can redeem it. Holding tightly to the past only keeps us trapped there. God’s plan is to free us from the weight of unmet expectations so that we can step into the future He’s preparing. When we dwell on what didn’t happen, we rob ourselves of the joy of what can happen. The enemy wants us stuck in a loop of replaying hurts and what-ifs, but God offers restoration and hope. He promises to redeem even the hardest stories, turning them into testimonies of His goodness. If your heart still aches from what didn’t happen—the relationship that failed, the job that fell through, the dream that didn’t materialize—hand it over to Him tonight. Trust that He hasn’t wasted a single moment of your story. What’s behind you doesn’t define you; what God is doing ahead of you does. Tonight’s Scripture: Isaiah 43:18 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.” 🔗 Read more on BibleStudyTools.com 🙏 Your Nightly Prayer Heavenly Father, I bring You my disappointment and pain. You know the things that didn’t happen—the dreams that died, the expectations that went unmet, the people who let me down. I confess that I’ve held onto them, sometimes out of fear and sometimes out of hurt. Tonight, I release them into Your hands. Help me stop dwelling on the past and look forward to Your promises for the future. Restore what has been broken. Redeem what feels lost. Heal the places where bitterness has taken root, and replace it with peace, hope, and faith in Your perfect plan. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🧘 Three Things to Meditate Upon What is one event in your life that didn’t happen the way you hoped—and how might God be using it for your good today? How can you view unmet expectations through the lens of God’s forgiveness and redemption? What has God promised for your future that you can cling to instead of focusing on past disappointments?

A Prayer to Remember God's Protective Shield Around Us | Your Daily Prayer

Fear and anxiety can feel overwhelming, especially in seasons when uncertainty presses in. As our daily prayer and devotional remind us, the psalmist reminds us that God is not distant or indifferent—He is our shield, our refuge, and our covering. Amanda shares a personal story of repeating the phrase “God protects me like a shield” in a dark, fearful moment. That simple truth became a lifeline when fear threatened to take over. Psalm 91:4 gives us a powerful picture of God’s nearness—like a parent bird sheltering its young beneath protective wings, our Father covers us in His love and strength. Romans 8:31 affirms this reality: “If God is for us, who can be against us?” When we face anxiety, fear, or uncertainty, we can lean into the truth that God’s presence is bigger than the darkness. His protection extends over our families, our homes, our work, and our hearts. No matter what storms surround us, we are never unprotected. God’s shield is not fragile—it is steadfast, faithful, and unshakable. Today's Bible Reading: "He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler." – Psalm 91:4 (ESV) Key Takeaways God is our shield and refuge, covering us in His protection (Psalm 91:4). Fear may whisper that we are alone, but God’s Word declares that His presence surrounds us. Romans 8:31 reminds us that nothing can ultimately prevail against those who belong to Him. When anxiety rises, we can replace fearful thoughts with the truth of Scripture. Let’s Pray Together Dear Lord, thank You for covering me with Your protective shield. When fear threatens to overwhelm me, remind me that You are with me, that Your love and faithfulness are stronger than any darkness. Guard my family, my heart, and my mind. Replace my anxious thoughts with Your peace, and let my life bring glory to Your name. Amen. A Prayer for When Autumn Is Full of Grief | Your Daily Prayer

For many, autumn is a season of beauty—colorful leaves, crisp air, and cozy traditions. But as our daily prayer and devotional remind us, for others, the season can reopen deep wounds of grief. Losing a loved one during this time can make every falling leaf feel like a reminder of what has been lost. Grief is not something to hide or feel ashamed of—it is the natural expression of love for someone who is no longer here. Jesus’ words in the Beatitudes assure us that those who mourn are not abandoned in their pain. Instead, God promises His presence and comfort in the midst of sorrow. The Lord draws near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 147:3) and faithfully carries us when grief feels unbearable. Over time, He not only comforts us but also equips us to comfort others in their mourning (2 Corinthians 1:3-5). In this way, even our deepest pain can become a vessel of compassion and encouragement. If autumn carries grief for you, know that you are not alone. God’s light still shines through the darkness, and His presence offers hope and healing—even in the hardest seasons. Today's Bible Verse: "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” – Matthew 5:4 (NIV) Key Takeaways Grief is a natural and holy expression of love—it is nothing to be ashamed of. God promises to comfort those who mourn (Matthew 5:4). The Lord draws close to the brokenhearted and heals our wounds (Psalm 147:3). Our own grief can equip us to extend comfort and empathy to others in pain. Let’s Pray Together Dear Jesus, autumn feels full of grief this year. Please help me to accept my sorrow as a reflection of love and not push it away. Surround me with Your comfort, fill my heart with Your hope, and help me to see glimpses of beauty even in my pain. Use my story to encourage others walking through grief, and remind me that You are always near. Amen.

He Holds What You've Let Go | Your Nightly Prayer

Letting go can feel like losing control—and sometimes, it feels like failure. As our nightly prayer and devotional remind us, whether you’re struggling with a strained relationship, a child’s choices, financial uncertainty, or health fears, surrender can seem terrifying. Yet Psalm 37:5 reminds us that when we let go, God doesn’t. Committing our way to the Lord means rolling the weight off our shoulders and placing it in His capable hands. The Hebrew root of the word “commit” actually paints this picture of rolling something heavy onto another. It’s not giving up—it’s giving over. God’s promise isn’t passive—He will act. He will take what you’ve surrendered and begin working in ways unseen. And even though surrender isn’t a one-time act—it’s a daily, sometimes hourly, decision—His patience and grace meet us in the process. If you’ve been clinging tightly to something today, remember this: His hands are stronger than yours, His love is deeper, and His timing is perfect. He doesn’t just catch what you release—He redeems it. Tonight’s Scripture: Psalm 37:5 (NIV) “Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this.” 🔗 Read more on BibleStudyTools.com 🙏 Your Nightly Prayer Heavenly Father, You see what I’ve been gripping so tightly. You know the burdens that weigh heavy on my heart. Tonight, I release them into Your hands—my fears, my loved ones, my future. I trust that Your hands are better than mine, that Your wisdom is greater, and that You are working even when I cannot see it. When I’m tempted to take control again, remind me of Your faithfulness. Thank You that letting go isn’t losing—it’s trusting. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🧘 Three Things to Meditate Upon God’s Faithful Hands: Recall a time when you had to trust someone else with something precious to you. How much more peace can you find in placing that trust in God’s hands? A Promise to Stand On: What verse or promise from Scripture speaks most to your situation right now? Bill Engvall Shares Origins of His Famous ‘Here’s Your Sign’ Line

Bill Engvall has shared the origins of his famous “here’s your sign” line. The backstory to the popular comedian’s signature saying is just as hilarious as expected. Watch the short but hysterical clip to hear how he came up with his “here’s your sign” refrain.

Making a living as a stand-up comedian is a tall order. Thousands of people dream of doing just that. However, having a dream and making that dream a reality are two entirely different things. Some comedians go years without making it big, never getting their big break. Others, for whatever reason, connect with audiences and become massive draws, making millions of dollars.

Whatever the case may be, many comedians have a signature line, catchphrase or joke they are known for. It helps set them apart from all the rest, because maybe even if people don’t know the comedian’s name, they might know their catchphrase. Bill Engvall is one of those comedians with one of the most recognizable catchphrases: “Here’s your sign.”

In a clip posted on YouTube, the longtime comedian shares how that phrase came about and how it has changed over the years. He also mentioned how the phrase perfectly describes many people, including people who would buy his merchandise in the early days of his career.

“Back in the old club days, when I was doing that, the bit used to say, ‘That I thought stupid people should be slapped,’” Bill says. “But, you know, my wife was looking out for me, and she said, ‘You know, you don’t look like the kind of guy who walks around slapping people.’”

Based on his wife’s critique, Bill came up with the idea of a sign individuals would wear that said, “I’m stupid.” He even started selling such signs. While selling those signs, Bill discovered that there was a lot of truth to what he was saying on stage.

“And I used to sell those little signs after the shows for a $1 apiece or two for $5,” he said. “And you would be amazed at how many people paid two for $5. Instead of, go figure. Here’s their sign.”

Job 8:21 “The time will come when your mouth will be full of laughing, and cries of joy will come from your lips.”
