Mesmerizing Footage Shows Why Water Lillies Are The 'Tyrants Of The Deep'

Watch this mesmerizing footage of a growing water lily that shows why they are the “tyrants of the deep” — you’ve never seen a more intimidating plant!

You may be thinking, “How could a plant be intimidating or scary?” If the spikes in the picture aren’t enough, the time-lapsed video will change your mind. If I were a plant in that water, I’d be terrified!

“The Green Planet,” a show on BBC Earth, shows viewers some of the incredible plants found on Earth whether they’re beautiful or horrifying. This montage of a growing water lily should impress and frighten you!

The music in the footage definitely adds to the fear factor. The ominous music sounds like it would play during every suspenseful scene in a horror movie. And don’t even get me started on those close up shots. I would stay as far away as possible.

Before the leaf blooms, the water lily uses the large bud to clear space for itself by swinging around the surface of the water. It’s like one of those medieval, spiked clubs. No thank you. Just look at how the victim plants recoil to protect themselves!

That fully-grown leaf can get up to 8 FEET ACROSS. I wouldn’t even willingly kayak or canoe near those things! Not only do these green giants push other life out of the way to clear space for its gigantic leaves, they also block sunlight from plants below them. Seems just a bit rude if you ask me.

Don’t think water lilies are tyrants? Just sit through the brutal footage of its spikes impaling nearby competing plants — a ruthless tyrant for sure!

Honestly, I may have nightmares about those huge spikes. Regardless of how terrifying the later lily appears, nature is astoundingly beautiful. Getting a closer look into the life cycle of one of millions of plants can remind us to appreciate the blessing of living on God’s astonishing creation — Earth.

2Cellos Give Ed Sheeran Hit 'Castle On The Hill' A Classical Makeover

Check out this wonderful music video of 2Cellos giving the song ‘Castle On The Hill’ by Ed Sheeran a classical makeover.

The cellists in the video are Luka Šulić and Stjepan Hauser, and they make up 2Cellos. The talented duo is known for playing instrumental arrangements of well-known pop and rock songs, as well as classical and film music. So far, they have released five albums together.

In the music video, 2Cellos are playing their black cellos against white rocks which stand out in a striking way. The setting where the musicians are being filmed is also stunning and leads to a very majestic and bold music video.

Luke and Stjepan are incredibly talented musicians, and they really add so much emotion and passion into their performances. Their songs also have such a classic feel to them, yet also remain modern at the same time. Their music is definitely the type that you could never tire from listening to!

“I’m running out of verbs to describe how incredible your skills are, as are your performances and filming. Your music feeds the souls of so many. Thank you for that,” comments one person on YouTube after watching the music video.

22-Year-Old Warns Stranger About Suspicious Mole And It Ends Up Saving His Life

If you see something, say something. It just might save a person’s life. A 22-year-old warns a stranger about a suspicious mole and ends up saving his life.

Nadia Popovici is a big fan of the Canucks Hockey Team. She rarely missed a game. At one of the games, she couldn’t help but notice a mole on the assistant equipment manager Brain Hamilton.

She noticed an irregularly shaped mole that was about two centimeters in diameter. It was a reddish-brown color. Nadia knew all these descriptions are the marks of a cancerous mole that she had learned as a volunteer nursing assistant at a hospital.

But Nadia wasn’t sure whether or not Brian knew. She didn’t want to seem rude by pointing out the mark but she didn’t want Brian to die of cancer either.

Naida knew she needed to tell him but how do you go about saying, “Hey that weird thing on your neck could be a cancerous mole.” After telling her parents what she thought, she decided to go ahead to break the ice.

She waited until after the game was over and then type a message on her phone and held it against the plexiglass as she vied for Brian’s attention. The message read, “The mole on the back of your neck is possibly cancerous. Please go see a doctor!” with the words “mole,” “cancer” and “doctor” typed red.

After first Brian was taken back. He thought it was rude and Nadia regretted giving him the message. She said, “Maybe that was inappropriate of me to bring up.” But because the encounter was so bizarre, Brian asked the team doctor if he should be concerned about it. He then went to the doctor and had the mole removed.

The mole was then sent off to pathology, and shortly afterward Brian heard the words no one wants to hear, he had cancer. “Mr. Hamilton recalled the doctor telling him, “I’m going to diagnose you with cancer and I’m going to cure you of cancer in the same phone call.” He added, “She took me out of a slow fire and the words out of the doctor’s mouth were if I ignored that for four to five years, I wouldn’t be here.”

Brian learned that it was a type-2 malignant melanoma. This type of skin cancer when detected early can be treated. He then realized he never thanked the stranger who saved his life. But he had no idea who she was. In order to find his hero, he posted on the team’s Twitter account.

The post said: “To this woman I am trying to find, you changed my life, and now I want to find you to say THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! Problem is, I don’t know who you are or where you are from.”

Several hours later, Nadia’s parents woke her up as she had been sleeping after a long night shift at a suicide prevention hotline to tell her about the message that had been posted to Twitter. They made plans to officially meet after the next hockey game which Nadia had already been planning to attend. Brian was able to thank this sweet, kind, young lady who saved his life.

Perhaps we all should take a page of Nadia’s playbook. If we see something wrong, say something.

“Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.” Ephesians 4:25

NASCAR Drivers Share Testimonies Of Putting God First

Some folks may look up to sports teams or players but really not know their stories. But in this incredible video, NASCAR drivers share testimonies of putting God first.

The video starts out with Darrell Waltrip sharing how he thought he had to be arrogant in racing. Then, Trevor Bayne shares that the focus required for racing is very intense.

Michael Mcdowell chimes in that one mistake in their sport can cost the race. Aric Almirola says the car is 3,600 pounds and there is the large challenge of controlling it. David Starr says that the intensity builds as a race goes on.

The men candidly share the excitement of doing well in a race, but the fleeting feeling afterward. They knew something was missing in their lives.

Joe Gibbs begins to share wisdom that real adversity or real success are the hardest things in life. Suddenly, each racer shares how they came to their saving faith in Jesus.

Many of them address their own selfishness and pride in how the Lord has humbled and grown them and given them joy. At the end they share their names and it ends with Joe Gibbs saying, “In this race, I finish second.”

One thing that stood out to me in this video is that even though each racer had different testimony of faith, God drew them into a relationship with Him.

Many times it was due to the joyful lives believers were living around them in the midst of their worldly successes. Christ can shine brightly through us and others will see His love for them. Thankfully people were bold enough to share their faith with the racers and they all are second for Jesus.

“And anyone who does not take up his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” Matthew 13:44-46

17-Year-Old Lucy Thomas Sings Heartfelt Rendition Of 'Footprints In The Sand'

Listen to this beautiful and heartfelt rendition of ‘Footprints In The Sand’ by Leona Lewis and performed by 17-year-old Lucy Thomas.

“You walked with me, footprints in the sand, and helped me understand where I'm going
You walked with me when I was all alone with so much unknown, along the way
I heard you say, I promise you I'm always there, when your heart is filled with sorrow
And despair, and I'll carry you when you need a friend, you'll find my footprints in the sand”

Lucy is such a talented singer, and she does a wonderful job performing ‘Footprints In The Sand.’ It is clear how much she loves to sing, and she really puts so much emotion and passion into her performance.

“This song has always been a big favorite of mine, and I'm a huge fan of Leona Lewis so I'm absolutely thrilled to have recorded this beautiful song,” writes Lucy in the caption of her YouTube video.

Many people online shared with Lucy how much they enjoyed her cover of this song.

“Another spell bounding experience listening to your beautiful voice Lucy! Your captivating voice always flows through me with deep emotions. Thank you for brightening the world around us,” comments one person on YouTube after watching the video.

“Lucy, your version is so beautiful. You sing with all the power and passion of a seasoned artist. The beautiful tone and range of your voice puts you in a class of your own!” writes another person online.

This lovely song is actually an adaptation of the poem Footprints In The Sand. Leona Lewis, the artist who sings the song, shared about how meaningful it is to her.

"I recorded Footprints In The Sand in the UK with producer Steve Mac and it's a very special song to me,” shared Leona. “Originally it was a poem; it's very inspirational so we put it into a song. I think it is very moving, with a very emotional lyric and I really love to sing this song."

14-Year-Old Turns The Judges With 'Lean On Me' Blind Audition

Check out this 14-year-old on The Voice Kids stun the judges with his audition of ‘Lean On Me’ by Bill Withers.

“Sometimes in our lives we all have pain, we all have sorrow
But if we are wise, we know that there's always tomorrow
Lean on me when you're not strong, and I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on, for it won't be long till I'm gonna need somebody to lean on”

Gabriel is the 14-year-old in this blind audition video from The Voice Kids, and it is clear to see that he is nervous right before he has to start singing. His family is there supporting him, and they are also nervously waiting off stage as he’s about to start his audition.

But Gabriel has nothing to worry about, because you can see that the judges are big fans of him right from the start! As soon as he sings his first note, they all smile at the sound of his voice and are pleasantly surprised.

“That’s a kid?!” one of the judges said, shocked that the deep, soulful voice does not belong to an adult.

As Gabriel wonderfully performs his rendition of ‘Lean On Me,’ the audience and judges are loving it! They are all swaying and clapping and cheering him on!

Once the first judge presses his button to turn his chair around, Gabriel’s family jumps up and down while cheering for Gabriel. Later, another judge presses her button for the talented younger singer as well.

We hope that you enjoyed watching this great performance of ‘Lean On Me’ by Gabriel on The Voice Kids today!

Made to Love You Lyrics - The Deplorable Choir

Blake Shelton Pulls 6-Year-Old Awaiting Heart Transplant On Stage For The Sweetest Duet

Imagine being a little boy and meeting your favorite singer. In this precious video, Blake Shelton pulls a six-year-old awaiting heart transplant on stage for the sweetest duet in Blake Shelton history!

Wyatt McKee has been a big fan of Blake for quite a while. But Wyatt doesn’t always get to do fun things. He was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome. It’s a condition where the left side of the heart is underdeveloped. This makes it hard for Wyatt to do normal boy things like wrestling with friends, running around the backyard, or even playing Tee-Ball.

But the one thing Wyatt can do is listen to music. He absolutely loves all of Blake’s songs, but his favorite is ‘God’s Country.’ It speaks to the wildness in this little boy's heart.

So, when Wyatt got to see Blake in concert, his mom helped make a sign in hopes that maybe his prayer to sing with Blake would come true. His sign was pretty cute, no wonder it caught Blake’s attention. It said, “Your smallest, biggest fan from Lake Texoma, 6 years old waiting on a heart transplant.”

The sign caught Blake’s eye and he invited Wyatt up on stage. Blake got down on one knee, so they were face to face and then asked Wyatt his name and he shyly responded before tucking his hands into the pockets of his jeans. Then, Wyatt’s prayer comes true, but as you can see in this video, he was shy and a little star-struck. But after a few chords, the pair launch into the song before Wyatt returns to his seat.

Wyatt’s mom Harley snapped a few photos and also captured the pair on video. Later, with gratitude, she posted the video online in hopes that she could get her message to Blake to thank him for his kindness.

She wrote, “I don’t know if Blake Shelton will ever see this but I just want to let him know he is awesome and officially my favorite person he absolutely made Wyatt’s day thank you so much to him and everyone who stopped us to tell him how great he was on stage and told him they are praying for him!!! Definitely, a night to remember!!!”

This short but sweet video will remind you of how even small acts can be the greatest forms of kindness and blessings when we do something kind for others.

“Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.” Proverbs 19:17

'A Thousand Years' Performance From Celtic Thunder's Michael O’Dwyer

Check out this wonderful performance from Celtic Thunder's Michael O’Dwyer of the song 'A Thousand Years' by Christina Perri.

“One step closer, I have died every day waiting for you, darling don't be afraid
I have loved you for a thousand years, I'll love you for a thousand more
And all along I believed I would find you, time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years, I'll love you for a thousand more”

What a beautiful performance showcasing Michael O’Dwyer incredible voice!

In the video, there is a harpist, violinist, drummer, and a few guitarists playing on stage with Michael, and they all sound so amazing making music together. And there are lights shining all over the stage to create a starry night scene. The whole thing is very beautiful and lovely to look at and listen to.

The performance is from a Celtic Thunder concert that was filmed live in Dublin from 2017. And in the video, you can see how enthralled the audience is with the performance by Michael O’Dwyer and the other musicians on stage. The same can be said for people who have watched the video online!

“I was transported to the heaves! What an absolutely breathtaking performance! I had beautiful chills!” one person writes on YouTube after watching the video.

“Love this version almost as much as the original. His voice fits the song very much!” another person comments online.

Celtic Thunder is now going on their biggest tour of North America to date with 75 cities in the United States and Canada on the itinerary. Michael O’Dwyer joined Celtic Thunder back in 2016, and before that, he was a college student in Ireland. Now he brings joy to others with his marvelous voice!

We hope that you enjoyed listening to Michael O’Dwyer version of the song 'A Thousand Years' today!

34 Angelic Voices Sing 'Blessed Is The Lord'

It is always impressive to see how a choir of young people come together to worship God through song. In this video, 34 angelic voices sing “Blessed is the Lord.”

Little singers of an Armenian choir are standing confidently in precious outfits with tights. They are standing tall in front of a beautiful organ as their choir director, Tigran Hekekyan stands conducting their musical piece.

The group sings this piece a cappella. There is such purity and integrity in their voices. The camera focuses on the conductor and we see that he is passionate and clearly signals his students well.

There are special moments of students smiling with joy as they share their gift of singing. As these teenagers sing out “Blessed is the Lord,” there is a sense of their joy and gratitude while they sing in unison with their voices.

Tigran directs them with such precision and focus. He signals and provides direction with clarity and confidence. It is obvious that these students are taking after their conductor in the way that they all present with such conviction.

The choir knows when to sing with every crescendo and decrescendo. They do a stunning job working together and following their director.

The concept of following their conductor reminds me of the importance of following our “Conductor,” God. As we look to Him in our lives, it is vital that just like these young people never took their eyes off of their conductor, we also fix our eyes on Jesus.

With the help and passion of our example in Christ, we too can model Him with the presentation of our lives.

“fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2

Dance Team Overcomes Adversity to Wow Judges with Audition

Take a minute to be wowed by a young woman’s bravery and community through a devastating trial. In this video, a dance team overcomes adversity to wow judges with their audition.

At the start of this video, there is a group of girls wearing t-shirts that say hope, strength, and peace. The oldest of the group, the choreographer, introduces Holly who is in a wheelchair.

This young girl was in the Manchester bombing at a concert. In an interview, Holly’s mom shares that she gifted her daughter with tickets to the concert. She, Holly, and Holly’s aunt went to the event.

Unfortunately, Holly’s aunt passed away in the explosion of a bomb, and Holly was injured. Holly has been through so much with nerve damage in her left leg and she has had eleven operations.

Sweet Holly wanted to go back to dancing, but her doctors did not know when or if that would ever be possible for her. The team created a routine to make her dream come true.

One judge asks how it feels to be back in Manchester and Holly tears up and responds that this is the first time she has been in a large room similar to an arena. As the girls dance, Holly is front and center dancing from her wheelchair.

Each move of the other dancers has a complimentary movement for Holly to do. Every girl has a wheelchair that they use during the performance. The judges tear up and smile during the audition and end with a standing ovation.

This audition is unlike anything I have ever seen, it is such an inspiration. Just like Holly conquered her fears and succeeded, we too are more than conquerors in Christ. He is our hope.

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Romans 8:37
