14-Year-Old Singer Surprises Judges With Emotional Opera Audition

This Malta’s Got Talent audition will wow you. In this video, a 14-year-old singer surprises judges with an emotional opera audition.

At the start of this video, a young boy begins to sing in an incredible tone. The judges’ faces are in shock as this voice sings out in an operatic style.

As he sings in a countertenor, some of the judges begin to tear up over such a powerful performance from such a young person. He has been given such an incredible gift, and it is fun to see him share it with the world.

Before the boy is even finished with his audition, all of the judges and the audience members stand in ovation and amazement. The first judge cries as she encourages him and decides to give him the golden buzzer.

The young boy cries so hard in shock that he is given this privilege. The woman goes and hugs him. The judge raves about him and is so emotional about his performance, and really believes in him. The boy’s father comes onto the stage, and they celebrate with the judges. It is a powerful moment for them.

Seeing such strength and courage in such a young person is inspiring. His boldness and confidence are contagious. He reminds us in the way that he auditions to be confident in the calling that God has placed in each of our lives. We can show up and be present in the moments when God gives us platforms for His glory.

“So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.” Hebrews 10:35-36

John Lewis’ Christmas Ad Reminds Us That The Little Actions Can Mean The Most

This is an inspiring video that gives us perspective this holiday season. In this clip, John Lewis’ Christmas Ad reminds us that little actions can mean the most.

At the start of the video, a man skateboards in a parking lot–badly. He falls off the board and gets up, looking very discouraged. Suddenly he comes in as his wife is on the phone talking about how she can’t wait.

He grabs some frozen peas to put on his hurt knee and falls onto the couch, looking defeated. Then the man decorates the Christmas tree with his wife, but he’s grimacing. He’s obviously sore from all the skateboard falls and mishaps.

At the office, he sneaks and watches skateboard videos, and the camera pans down to reveal his feet on top of a board under his desk. He is determined to learn. We see some moments of success and excitement.

Suddenly, the doorbell rings, and the man and his wife share a look of anticipation. A young girl stands in the doorway, looking at them nervously. The girl is in foster care and is coming to live with them.

She cradles a skateboard in her arms, and she nods to an arm brace the man wears. The man shares that he skates, too, but that her board is cooler. They invite the girl in, with the two of them bonding. (And me choking up with tears welling as I watch!)

The commercial ends by sharing that more than 108,000 children in the UK are in foster care.

This emotional video teaches us the kindness and outpouring of love that we can show to others if we make the effort. Jesus loved us so well, and we can love others through the power of His love in us.

Jesus, knowing their thoughts, took a little child and had him stand beside him. Then he said to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.” Luke 9:47-48

Former TLC Star Jessica Willis Fisher Shares Healing After Abuse At The Hands Of Her Father

From hopeless to hopeful, former TLC star Jessica Willis Fisher shares her healing journey after abuse at the hands of her father.

Jessica and her family rose to fame after appearing with their band, The Willis Clan, on America’s Got Talent and eventually they landed their own show, The Willis Family, on TLC. They seemed like the perfect family with a dozen kids and two loving parents. Yet, the whole time Jessica was performing. She acted like everything was okay in order to cover up the shame she felt from her father abusing her.

Jessica sat down with Tamron Hall to talk about her memoir titled “Unspeakable,” where she details how she broke free and began to heal from decades of abuse at the hands of her father.

Because they were a performing family–she always wore the mask that everything was perfect and ideal. She goes on to say that performing off camera became just as important as on stage, “We had been performing for years…that feels like that had escalated over my entire life” she said.

At the age of 23, Jessica began to openly speak about the unspeakable things that had happened at the hands of her father. He eventually went to prison while Jessica began to break free from her cage of silence.

Jessica and her siblings had to learn a new kind of normal. The kind of normal where no one was performing and acting like everything was okay. At the time, Jessica wanted to be there for her siblings but she was “living in the emergency room of life” as she tried to get past her own trauma.

Jessica reveals an incredible, resilient kind of faith despite walking through decades of abuse. She realizes there comes a time in anyone’s life where we are faced with the truth. You can either bring it into the light where God can redeem every once of pain or you can run from it.

Jessica chose to be brave and bring this evil into the light. Her hope is now a banner in the form of a book encouraging survivors to speak their truth. Because it's the truth that will set you free from the chains of abuse and shame.

What an incredibly brave woman who reminds us that with God all things are possible.

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26

Secret Santa Surprises 69-Year-Old Widow With New Car, And Now Everyone's Sobbing

You don’t want to miss this story where the heart of one generous person donated one million dollars to the East Idaho News Team. These secret Santas surprise a 69-year-old widow with a new car, and now everyone is sobbing.

It’s hard to think about the generosity of giving this time of year when many of us are strapped financially. That’s the beauty of giving sometimes–we give all that we have, and it makes a world of difference for someone else.

Nate Eaten and his news team of Elves received an anonymously written letter about a woman named Annette who should have been enjoying her golden years. Instead, she’s still working and lives as a widow. Her husband passed away 17 years ago. Nate goes on to read a letter about why Annette was nominated, “She was diagnosed 18 months ago with cancer. She’s had surgery, and she’s now trying to keep it at bay,” Nate read. “She’s a very kind and humble person. She’s very independent and never asks for help.”

The letter goes on to reveal the struggles she’s had with her transportation. Her last car was given to her almost a decade ago, but it is no longer reliable. Annette’s kindness and humility certainly captured the hearts of people around her because they nominated Annette to be the recipient of giving through Secret Santa.

Nate’s team was more than excited to shop for a brand-new car. In their thoughtfulness, they took it a few steps further and ensured the car wouldn’t be any expense for her too. This includes taking care of all car payments, registration, and even insurance for the first year.

The team arrived at Annette’s house, ready to hand her the keys. But she’s not home which leads them on an adventure. Nate learns that Annette is still probably at work, and they gear up again for the big surprise only to learn she left work to get repairs done on her junker car! Nate and his crew hustle to contact the repair shop in town, but they couldn’t track her down. But that doesn’t stop these guys! Instead, they regroup at Annette’s house to surprise her.

When she first saw Nate and his elves, she was a little nervous. It’s not every day a news station crew shows up on your doorstep. Nath then surprised her with a gift of a $1,000 check to cover all the fees for the car. But she has no idea what the money is intended for. He then gives her a box with a set of keys, and for a moment, Annette stops breathing before she bursts into tears. “You’ve gotta be kidding me. You guys! I don’t deserve that,” she bawled, before adding that there are so many other people out there who need help more than she does.

In that moment, relief and disbelief pour out of Annette in tears as she tries to comprehend that a stranger gave her a new car out of love and generosity. Now she can go to work with reliable transportation. I imagine every time she gets behind the wheel, she thanks God for the kindness of others.

“They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor, their righteousness endures forever; their horn will be lifted high in honor,” Psalm 119:12.

Security Guard Interrupts Cheerleading Routine, And Then Everyone Is Going Wild

Check out how the University of Tennessee football fans react when a security guard interrupts the cheerleading routine and everyone goes wild. It might not be what you’d expect!

For those that don’t understand football, the cheerleaders and the marching bands are sometimes the most entertaining parts of the game. Yes, I said it!

So, getting in the way of their dazzling costumes and fancy moves, whether acrobatic or musical, might get a person in trouble. And that’s exactly what it looked like would happen for a security guard during a Tennessee Volunteers football game.

Watch as the dude in the blue shirt, and khaki pants backs up, seemingly oblivious, into one of the cheerleaders during a dance routine. She runs over to a coach to ask for help; the security guard is ruining their routine! With his headset in place, the sideline coach intervenes on the young woman’s behalf. Apparently, there is a break in the action on the field, and the coach can attend to other business.

The coach runs over to the clueless security guard, and an argument ensues. The security guard turns toward the field and is then pushed back toward the sideline by the dancers. But he doesn’t make it off the field. Instead, he joins in the dance!

He’s not in a leotard or stretchy pants, but this guy has got the moves! And he’s not actually a security guard, either.

He’s Michael Galyean, an aspiring actor, and dancer. Michael was approached by Women’s Cheer and Dance Coach Kelley Tafazzoli to participate in the spoof during the October 29 game. Michael received a video of the dance only one week prior to the performance, and he had only one hour to rehearse with the team!

Michael has the timing, the attitude, and the dance skills that are called for. He is a natural among the ladies! In fact, if his acting goals don’t pan out, he may have a place on the squad!

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact, you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11

17-Year-Old Sings Using Sign Language For Her Deaf Parents And Earns Golden Buzzer

Love needs no translation. You can speak Spanish, French, or Sign Language–no matter the language, the actions of love are spoken loud and clear. A 17-year-old sings using sign language for her deaf parents and earns the golden buzzer on Spain’s Got Talent.

Martina has had dreams of finding a way to bring the beauty of music to her parents, who are both deaf. Inspired by the French film Coda, Martina took her dream to the stage, and you won’t believe what happened next.

Ever since Martina was a little girl, she’s used her ability to hear and sing to open up a whole new world for her parents. Even though her parents can’t hear Martina’s voice, she found a way to incorporate sign language into her love of singing.

After she explained to the judges that she was born to deaf parents and how she wanted to find a way to include her parents in her love of music, the judges were in awe of Martina’s heart. She then went on to sing a song in French while signing the lyrics in sign language.

When her beautiful performance had ended, the audience cheered for her in applause along with her parents, who were cheering her on too!

One viewer who watched the performance was in awe of why Martina signed the song and taught the audience about the hearing impaired. She wrote, “What a beautiful program. The joy, the emotions, and also the teachings that she gave.”

Another viewer echoed how difficult it is to sign and sing at the same time. She added, “I totally respect her. It's an almost impossible task to sing and translate to hand sign at the same time. She deserved it, hands down.”

Martina definitely deserved to earn the golden buzzer, not just because of her gifts but because of the love, compassion, and respect she has for her parents.

What a beautiful soul this sweet, 17-year-old lady has for those who interact with the world differently. Her gift reminds me of first Corinthians. If we do not have love, we have nothing.

“I may speak in different languages, whether human or even of angels. But if I don't have love, I am only a noisy bell or a ringing cymbal,” 1 Corinthians 31:1.

17-Year-Old Brings Chills With Etta James' 'I'd Rather Go Blind' On The Voice

This young woman is incredibly talented. Check out this video where a 17-year-old brings chills with Etta James’ ‘I’d Rather Go Blind’ on The Voice.

Parijita Bastola begins her performance as the judges watch intently. This beautiful young woman appears dressed in her cultural Indian attire. Her bright orange wardrobe is as vibrant as her knockout round.

She sings with such soul and passion. She has such strength and depth to her voice, and the judges nod in approval as she sings.

Her voice is crisp, clear, and very easy to listen to. She has great depth and maturity for such a young age. This girl wows the crowd with her style, her ease, and the way that she finesses the song.

Her vibrato is very natural, and she has such confidence. It is inspiring to watch and listen to her gift. At the end of her performance, the judges stand in ovation and applaud her. The crowd is wowed, and the judges rave about such a beautiful performance.

Experiencing someone else’s talent can be a way for us to worship the Lord. We know that every gift is from Him. When we witness an incredible skill, it is easy to make it about the person displaying it, but it is so important for us to be reminded that they glorify God.

We all have different abilities to offer, but they are all ultimately from and for the Lord. As we watch Parijita sing this soulful song, we celebrate the giftedness of her voice and are amazed by her young age. She is stunning.

“There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone, it is the same God at work.” 1 Corinthians 12:5-6

Loretta Lynn's Granddaughter And Willie Nelson's Son Sing 'Lay Me Down'

Beautiful, simple, and profound are the first words that come to mind as Loretta Lynn’s granddaughter and Willie Nelson’s son sing, ‘Lay Me Down.’ The duo sang ever so eloquently about the somber reality of passing from this side of heaven to the next.

The song ‘Lay Me Down’ is a song penned like the words found in the Psalms that reflect on our own morality and how we will be at peace once we meet our heavenly father face to face.

The song is told from the point of view of how rough and unfair the world is and how we don’t truly find peace until we are laid to rest. “When they lay me down someday, my soul will rise, then fly away.

This old world will turn around. I’ll be at peace when they lay me down. This life isn’t fair, it seems. It’s filled with tears and broken dreams. There are no tears where I am bound, and I’ll be at peace when they lay me down,” is how the lyrics of the song goes.

But what captures it so beautifully are the voices of Emmy Russell and Lukas Nelson.

Lukas sounds so much like his grandfather Willie, and Emma exudes the spirit of her grandmother. Together the pair delivered a beautiful rendition their families would be proud of.

Sadly, Lorretta Lynn passed away just a few weeks ago, and this performance is a stunning tribute to the “Coal Miner’s Daughter.” The torch has been passed on from one generation to the next of these musical families, and they honored the late and great Lorretta Lynn, who loved Christ more than life itself. The performance will absolutely bring tears to your eyes and call to the depths of your spirit that yearns to be with Jesus.

“I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.” Psalms 4:8

Dwayne Johnson Tears Up As Writer Rob Delaney Recounts The Loss Of His Young Son

Watch this powerful moment when Dwayne Johnson tears up as writer Rob Delaney recounts the loss of his young son.

If you’re born on planet earth, you will encounter love, loss, and pain. It’s a fact of life that we sometimes want to avoid. But if we did try to avoid it all–oh the things we would miss out on, especially as parents. We love our children so much that we spend our lives ensuring our sweet babes have everything they need.

Both stars were recently guests on The One Show, where Rob Delaney shared the story of his precious, belated son Henry who had been diagnosed with cancer and had a tumor removed from the base of his brain just before his first birthday.

The surgery had left his son physically disabled, but Rob said his son was still “...a funny and mischievous” little guy. After rounds of chemotherapy, they thought Henry would go on to live a full and healthy life. But then they learned his cancer had returned. Less than two years later, Henry passed on from this world into the arms of Jesus.

Bewildered by the pain, Rob set out to write a book about the anger and rage he felt about losing his son but slowly, the book took on a new life as a way to share the grief parents go through from the loss of a child. As Rob continued to talk about the things bereaved parents need, he thanked Dwayne for being a man of action.

Dwayne sent a tweet to Rob about the loss of his son, and it touched Rob’s heart because people often hesitate to say anything to grieving parents for fear of saying something wrong. At that moment, Dwayne wiped away tears sliding down his cheeks as he said the loss of Henry had hit home for him and his family because Dwayne’s whole world is his three precious daughters.

Rob then added it had meant the world to him because Dwayne mentioned Henry’s name. Rob commented, “He said Henry’s name. After our son died, this really was (and still is) the greatest way to honor him. When people use his name, it gives him a place in this world forever.”

The moment that passed between these two men is a bond shared between parents. We love our children and want the world for them. The idea of losing a child is unfathomable, and no one should bare the burden alone. Rob’s manifesto to life is, “A heart that hurts is a heart that works.”

And it’s apparent both Dwayne and Rob’s hearts work in the way of our heavenly father. We weep with those who weep, and one day, we will all rejoice with those who rejoice in the presence of our mighty God–restored with those who have passed on to heaven before us.

'He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death' or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away,” Revelations 21:4.

16-Year-Old's Breaks Down During Audition But Returns To Earn The Golden Buzzer

Here’s a video from Australia’s Got Talent that’s bound to leave viewers in tears when a sweet 16-year-old contestant breaks down during her audition before returning to earn The Golden Buzzer. This one is a treasure!

Judge Kate Richie, sitting on the panel alongside Australian actor Shane Jacobson and Britain’s David Williams and Alesha Dixon, welcomes Breanna Lee and tells her to begin whenever she’s ready.

Before doing so, though, Breanna looks to her left for encouragement from her two male supporters. They stand with host Ricki-Lee Coulter, one wearing a t-shirt with the words “Get Up, Stand Up, Show Up.”

Breanna sings Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colours.”  Breanna’s voice is angelic, and her eyes convey an understanding of the song on a deeper level. At 50 seconds, David closes his eyes and opens them as if attempting to absorb the music Breanna makes. The crowd loves Breanna, but the applause seems to disarm her, and she falters.

Breanna looks to her cheering section. The t-shirted man tells her to keep going, but she is now in tears and terrified. Alesha asks the orchestra to stop the music, and Kate and Ricki-Lee join Breanna on stage. The two comfort her, and the audience and David assure her that they’d like to hear more. Breanna calms and agrees to try again.

With renewed strength, Breanna sings the first two stanzas, and the crowd goes wild. Her voice is lovely and rich, her rendering authentic and real. At 3:05, though, there is another surprise. Breanna begins singing parts of the chorus in her native language!

When the song is finished, the teary-eyed beauty from Melbourne seems not to understand how well she’s done—in spite of the rousing applause and the thumbs-ups from her fans. But the audience gets it. In fact, they exhort the judges to use The Golden Buzzer!

David hears them and delivers exactly what they want at 4:35. Breanna has been fast-tracked to the semi-finals! Gold confetti rains down on this young woman, and she is overjoyed! Her family members smother her in hugs and loving accolades. Her smile is precious, and the moment is priceless!

Ms. Breanna is a student and lives with her foster family. They were the ones who encouraged her to sing her chosen song partially in her indigenous language. Here are four lines from “True Colours.”

In a world full of people
You can lose sight of it all
And the darkness inside you
Can make you feel so small

Motivated by a desire to show other First Nation kids and teens in foster care that they can reach their dreams, Breanna may very well be on the way to making all of hers come true!

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”” Joshua 1:9

Teacher Keeps An Empty Chair In His Classroom To Teach Valuable Lesson

This is an idea of creativity to share about being loving and kind. In this video, a teacher keeps an empty chair in his classroom to teach a valuable lesson.

At the start of this video, Kelly Clarkson shares that Dan Gill is a middle school teacher who has taught for over 52 years. Mr. Gill joins Kelly via video chat and thanks him for being a teacher and welcomes him.

Dan begins to tell the story of how, when he was a boy, he was friends with a boy named Archie. The two of them were going to a birthday party of a friend in New York City, but when they got to the door, his mother said that Dan could come in, but Archie couldn’t.

Dan questioned her why and she said that they have no more chairs. Dan pushed back at the age of 9 and said that he had been to their house many times and that they have a lot of chairs. He added that he would be happy to sit on the floor.

The mother proceeded to say, “No, you can come in, but he cannot because there are no more chairs.” This broke Dan’s heart, and he felt terrible for his friend to be embarrassed and shamed in this way. He and Archie left and had tears in their eyes, and went back to his house.

Dan’s friend Archie was African American, and Dan was appalled at what his friend had experienced.

Kelly asks if he tells his students that story. Dan says that he likes to use personal stories to teach history to young people to have a connection with history. He shares the opportunity that they have to come to a free school so they can make a difference and leaves one chair empty in his classroom as a reminder to have empathy.

The audience claps, and Kelly shares that they are grateful for who he is and what he does. They award him $1000 from the show. It is a special moment.

This is a great reminder that Jesus never kicked people out due to a “lack of chairs.” Jesus went to others and loved well and sat with people who were different from Him to share His gospel of love.

“When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, ‘Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners.’ On hearing this, Jesus said, ‘It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Matthew 9:11-13
