This was a special week at Foundation Church as Bill and Janine Hahn celebrated the renewing of their wedding vows. In the spirit of that joyous event, Pastor Dan Wolf read a sermon from a Puritan pastor named Richard Baxter, who lived from 1615 to 1691. This is the first time Dan has read someone else's sermon, but this is a great one. The original sermon was called "The Mutual Duties of Husbands and Wives Towards Each Other." "Lastly I would like to relate what a very wise man once told me: "If you are having troubles with your spouse it is not because of what you think of him or her, it is not because of negative thought patterns, it is not because you haven't first loved self. But it is what you think of Jesus. Do you love Him FIRST? Do you live for Him FIRST? Is your life, his? If you are right with Jesus Christ the King of Glory, then it will be right with your husband or your wife. And this is what is right with God.
Patience is something I find a challenge. I like to get to action.
When things don't happen, I sometimes start to question whether I'm doing the right things. Fortunately, God is patient with me and continues to work His plan while I wait and watch.
Steve the Juggler demonstrates how we can all lead colourful lives (using very colourful 4 ring juggling tricks) then how Jesus can forgive us for our sins and make our lives "as white as snow" once again if we are truly sorry for the things we have done wrong.
God is calling all of mankind to imitate Him and He is asking the same from you! Listen to this message and be challenged to walk in love, just as Christ did.
“Prayer is Powerful and Effective”_Phillippians 4: 6-7_Rev. Brad Greene concludes this sermon series with a discussion of the power and effectiveness of prayer in terms we may not have considered before.
