Matthew 19:10-12

(10) His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry. (11) But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given. (12) For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

Waite discussed Genesis 3:1-24 at the Genesis Bible Study of the Bible For Today Baptist Church of Collingswood, New Jersey. Pastor D. A. Waite Bible For Today Baptist Church 900 Park Avenue Collingswood, NJ 08108 www.BibleForToday.org 856-854-4747 Genesis 3:1-24 (1) Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? (2) And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: (3) But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. (4) And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: (5) For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. (6) And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. (7) And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

James 1:1-6

(1) James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting. (2) My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; (3) Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. (4) But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. (5) If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. (6) But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Observations

“Life may be regarded as the form of existence, spoken of as the animate as distinguished from the inanimate, embracing a force (principle) and condition, the force of which is determining factor of all relations caused and sustained, both internal and external, the condition of which is that constituted by these relations, so caused and sustained” (Bancroft 46).

“‘Science, as yet, is unable to dispense with the idea of the principle of life’” (Bancroft 46).

“The two factors of life in general, force and condition, when used of God, then are to be regarded as possessed by Him to an infinite degree” (Bancroft 47).

Doctrinal Statement: By the sharp distinctions drawn in the Scriptures between the gods of the heathen and the true God, the fact of life as a divine attribute is clearly shown. Israel’s God, unlike the gods of the nations, hears, sees, feels, acts and therefore is a living Being (Bancroft 48).

“God is more than a condition of being, like space or time. He is an agent, an actor, a living being and spirit life” (Bancroft 48).

The Christmas Truce - Part 2 of 6

A young poet, fresh to the front, recounts the miraculous events of Christmas, 1914, in which Christ revealed His dominion and love by commanding the nations, "...be still, and know that I am God."

Blood and Peace is based on a collection of authentic accounts written by the soldiers who experienced the miracle of the Christmas Truce, 1914. While the persons are fictionalized, the setting, the history and much of the dialogue remains in direct quotation of the variety of literary sources used in researching the event.

A Thought From Associate Pastor Randall Hust - Foundation

At Broadview, we believe in the that God still speaks today and is still at work in every area of life. We believe in the power of the cross over the works of the enemy. We also believe that the local church is the vehicle in which God accomplishes much
of His work. Broadview Baptist Church is aligned with the Baptist General Convention of Texas and accepts the Bible as our Standard. We are in agreement with the 1963 Baptist Faith and Message

Hebrews 13:18-25

(18) Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly. (19) But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner. (20) Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, (21) Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (22) And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words. (23) Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you. (24) Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you. (25) Grace be with you all. Amen.
