Lamanda Brown and her four kids fell on hard times that left them with no basic necessities and sleeping on the floor. But thanks to the incredible folks at the Humble Design charity, this family has a brand new home and a new start. It's such a delight to witness their joy and gratitude. <3
At several cafes around the world a trend has emerged that offers paying customers the chance to provide a hot cup of coffee for someone in need. Paying customers simply buy themselves a cup, and then pay for however many cups of "suspended" cups they want to purchase. The cafe keeps track of how many cups have been prepaid and the hungry and homeless can then come in and ask if any suspended coffee is available. What a wonderful way to bring a community together.
Yi Ling was born with a severe craniofacial cleft, which extended from her lips all the way through to her brain cavity. Being from a small village in China, she did not have the resources to get proper medical attention and she was even unable to attend school. When she was 6, US Dr. Craig Huber brought Yi and her mother to Texas and performed the many surgeries needed to repair her deformities. She is now able to speak, breath and smile! What an amazing transformation!
Timothy Park, of Trinity Christian School in Fairfax, VA, has just hit the college acceptance jackpot. He is in the top 1/2 percent of students, nationwide, who have been accepted into all 4 US military academies. Any of these schools, much less all four, are extremely difficult to gain acceptance to and although still deciding where to go, it looks like West Point has his vote so far. Based on his record, it looks like any of the schools, along with our US Military, will be so lucky to have him!
A'Layah Robinson is an unbelievably generous young girl, which is miraculous considering the life into which she was born. After being fostered in several different homes, she was finally adopted into a loving family. However, she could not forget the kids left behind in foster care so she wanted to do something to help them. Starting with a lemonade stand, she has founded a charitable program that provides blankets and other basic needs to kids in foster care. Watch as A'Layah's Kindergarten's teacher arranges to surprise her with a big donation to help keep her charity going strong!

When the Guardians of Rescue found Bear the dog chained up in a backyard, they couldn't just leave him there. After talking to his owners, they discovered Bear had been chained like that for 15 years! Thankfully they convinced the owner that Bear deserved better. Jahkil is 9 years-old and is on a mission to help the homeless community in his hometown of Chicago. While he knows that he does not have the resources to actually find housing for these folks, he helps them by supplying them with "Blessings Bags', containing toiletries, snacks and more. He knows that these basic necessities can be hard to obtain and he takes charge of this mission, delivering over 2,000 bags so far. What a blessing you are, Jahkil! <3
Erin Vasselian is now the proud owner of a new mini-van. But it was the generosity of her community that provided her this much needed transportation. Three years ago, Erin's husband, Marine sergeant Danny Vasselian was killed while fighting in Afghanistan. He died two days before Christmas. Erin has tried to get by, but when Erin's neighbors learned of her struggles, they and Massachusetts Fallen Heroes stepped up to help Erin and her family back on their feet. Parents can be fierce when trying to protect their babies. Watch as this sweet rescue worker attempts to free a baby swan who has been trapped in a chain link fence. The father swan obviously does not understand the man's intentions and swats at him repeatedly with his strong wings. Although bruised, the man does not give up and happily reunites baby with family.

74 year-old John Wilkie was just 60 yards short of his half marathon finish when he tripped and fell hard, hitting his head. Disoriented and trying to get his bearings, he was suddenly picked up by two guardian angels, Nate and Colin. They grabbed his arms and helped him toward the finish line, to the medical tent and also to pick up his medal. "It still chokes me up when I think about what they did", said Wilkie. Angels on earth, for sure. <3

He was constantly told that he was stupid and useless, but what no one knew was that Henry was severely dyslexic. Hearing Henry share how he overcame his learning disability is inspiring.
