EmiSunshine Sings Beautiful Acoustic Version Of 'Wide River To Cross'

EmiSunshine treats us to one of her favorite Buddy Miller, songs with this beautiful acoustic rendition of “Wide River to Cross.” Taking place in an old church with ideal acoustics, Emi uses a church pew for her stage stool to sing an almost haunting cover of this tune. When she begins to sing, her voice eerily echos in the almost hollow space setting a chilling tone for the story she unfolds. “There's a sorrow in the wind Blowing' down the road I've been I can hear it cry while shadows steal the sun” Taking in what the song itself is trying to say, gives us insight to a story of someone who has had a long weary journey in their life and still trying to push through. This beautiful song sounds like it could have been recorded during the Great Depression. During an era where so many were struggling to make their way and many songs from the time period focused on the idea of home and hope as synonymous. Everyone was on a journey of survival, many had endured WWI. They understood difficult times and that “pressing on” was a way of life. That’s just what this haunting tale written by Buddy Miller seems to share. While it’s a big song for such a young girl to tackle, EmiSunshine has done a great job capturing the feel of this intense song in her vocals! “I'm only halfway home I gotta journey on / To where I'll find the things that I have lost / I've come a long long road still I've got miles to go / I've got a wide wide river to cross” How blessed that we do not have to cross those rivers without God’s help? In our moments of true exhaustion and weakness, God gives us extra grace to continue forward!

School Choirs Compete for Top Honors with Hymn 'Give Me Joy in My Heart'

‘Give Me Joy in My Heart’ has always been one of my very favorite hymns, and In this classic clip from a BBC TV show, talented students perform a beautiful version of thie song! Six of the best middle school choirs perform a hymn of their choice to impress judges who have to decide which three make it to the final and be named School Choir of the Year. Listen and be blessed by these wonderful lyrics, as these young voices lift our Lord and Saviour in praise! Give me joy in my heart, keep me praising, Give me joy in my heart, I pray; Give me joy in my heart, keep me praising, Keep me praising till the break of day: Sing hosanna, sing hosanna, Sing hosanna to the King of kings. Sing hosanna, sing hosanna, Sing hosanna to the King. Give me peace in my heart, keep me loving, Give me peace in my heart, I pray; Give me peace in my heart, keep me loving, Keep me loving till the break of day: Sing hosanna, sing hosanna, Sing hosanna to the King of kings. Sing hosanna, sing hosanna, Sing hosanna to the King. Give me love in my heart, keep me serving, Give me love in my heart, I pray; Give me love in my heart, keep me serving, Keep me serving till the break of day: Sing hosanna, sing hosanna, Sing hosanna to the King of kings. Sing hosanna, sing hosanna, Sing hosanna to the King.

Leticia Yuzefpolsky Shares Testimony After Nine Family Members Killed

Leticia Yuzefpolsky faced a horrible tragedy when her family was murdered in 2008 on Christmas Eve. But this survivor isn’t willing to allow the situation to steal her joy. Online comedian, Kristina Kuzmic is known for her funny videos on parenting. Her aim is to bring humor and a new perspective to situations that normally might bring frustration. Stepping outside of her normal pattern, Kristina asked her friend Leticia to share about her experience and how she has moved forward. “When I think about hope, when I think about going through hell and then emerging and still being able to find joy and fulfillment in life, I think of my friend, Leticia.” On Christmas Eve 2008, Leticia’s former brother-in-law, Bruce Pardo, dressed up as Santa Claus came to her parent’s home where the family was gathered and killed nine members of Leticia’s family. Leticia’s 8-year-old daughter was hit in the face but was able to escape. Before taking his own life, Pardo used a homemade explosive device which engulfed the home in flames. Leticia lost her parents, siblings and sibling-in-laws that night. Her children, husband and some nieces and nephews were able to escape. “One of the things that helped me through my grief, absolutely was my faith. You replace the bad with really good…” In the face of such utter darkness, Leticia knew that she couldn’t allow evil to win in her life or her family’s. Leticia is sharing her story in hopes that someone who may be struggling with heartache and difficult situations can see that their life story doesn’t have to be defined by others. “Don’t give up hope. Take the time to grieve. Move forward by looking at just the next day. And focus on your goal, which is joy, at the end of it. Joy. In time.” What a beautiful message! We are so moved by Leticia’s story and how she has chosen to allow God to use her to help others and to encourage her own family.

Us The Duo - America's Got Talent Recap

“Us the Duo” took the music world and audience by storm with their stellar musical performances on ‘America’s Got Talent’. The pair met in 2011 on the set of a music video and became the best of friends. It wasn’t long before they were married and performing as husband and wife. Unlike some of the contestants on AGT, “Us the Duo” have quite the extensive musical performance resumé. Their smooth sound and charming connection on stage made them a clear choice for the television talent series. Michael and Carissa Alvarado began their joint musical career creating Vines (short video clips) of their cover music. Quickly gaining a massive following, it wasn’t long before this team found themselves on popular talk shows. With such exceptional talent it was no surprise that they went on a successful tour with Pentatonix in 2016. With a unique folksy sound, Us the Duo easily made their way into the semi-finals of AGT before being eliminated. But the impression they left on the viewers and the music industry was huge. The pair captured hearts with their song choices and passion in performance. Both are incredibly talented musicians and were seen performing on multiple instruments throughout the competition. But it wasn’t just their musical ability that the audience connected with. During the filming of the show, Carissa was pregnant and audiences loved following along with their family’s love story. Their beautiful baby girl Xyla Rose was born October 8! We hope that this stunning family continue to be blessed and that Xyla grows up to love and appreciate music as much as her talented parents do!

Dad and Kids Sing Hymn 'Give Me Joy in My Heart' with Ukeleles

“Give me joy in my heart, keep me praising, Give me joy in my heart, I pray; Give me joy in my heart, keep me praising, Keep me praising till the break of day:” What a wonderful way to praise the Lord as a family! We love this Dad and his young children taking the time to worship together. Learning a musical instrument is so important to use all the amazing gifts that God has given us. The skill that it takes to learn chord structures, rhythmic patterns, and the “hand-eye coordination” that is involved in playing an instrument are so valuable. Not only does music serve as a stress reliever but it is a great social tool as well. Many families are seeing a resurgence in the ukelele as a portable instrument that is smaller in frame for children to begin their musical training. What a great way to gather the family in a pastime that they can enjoy for years to come! Seeing these brothers and sister play together with the Dad is so refreshing! It’s clear that they are really enjoying their time together. The littlest is so sweet as she keeps time with her strumming and making sure that she’s playing along with her brothers. It’s adorable seeing her older brother leaning in for their feature “Hallelujah!” cheer in the middle of the verse! We love how the kids are so involved in the song and what an uplifting message to have running through your heart!

Therapy Pigeon Helps Girl With Autism To Enjoy Life Again

When Ash Holbrook fostered a baby pigeon she never expected it to change her life. Ash was born premature and later diagnosed with autism. The bird she rescued, named Geraldine, soon became her “therapy pigeon”. Geraldine was found injured after falling out of a barn rafter. When it was time to release the pigeon, Geraldine didn’t want to leave. The same day Ash’s dog of 15 years passed away. That’s when Ash realized that this feathered friend was something special just for her. Geraldine gives Ash the same sense of peace that her beloved dog had offered. “It’s just crazy how a tiny little bird can impact your life in such a beautiful way” Ash shared to The Dodo. “As long as she’s with me, I can go anywhere.” Because of her autism, Ash was struggling with being overwhelmed by her surroundings. But with Geraldine around, Ash finds that the pigeon becomes her focus and she feels a sense of calm. Because the bird was found when it was very young and has been fostered in a home, it has learned to be very calm around people. Ash’s mom shared that before Geraldine was in their life, Ash struggled to vocally communicate but with the comfort of the sweet bird, Ash is finally able to have the needed confidence to talk with others. When Geraldine went missing while on a recent road trip, Ash was devastated. Local news stations picked up her story, thankfully Geraldine found just the right carport to seek refuge. Dolores Chavez saw the pigeon from the news stories and called out to Geraldine who flew to her arm! If birds could talk, we think that Geraldine knew she had a job to do! Of course, birds cannot go through true “therapy” training, but this “emotional support animal” takes her job very seriously. Geraldine clearly loves on Ash as much as she receives love! What a beautiful relationship with one of God’s special creatures!

Akash and Kamri Perform L-O-V-E Dancing with the Stars: Juniors!

We are completely L-O-V-E over this adorable duo’s recent fox trot performance on Dancing With The Stars: Juniors! Akash & Kamri obviously worked hard on this routine and their choice in song was spot on. There is something truly moving about Nat King Cole’s “L-O-V-E” that makes us want to get up and dance as well! From the first camera angle on adorable Kamri Peterson, we were hooked! This 10-year-old from Utah has been studying dance since she was able to walk. Her biography on the show’s website shares that she really loves Ballroom and has won many titles in the dance world. Paired with Spelling Bee star, Akash Vukoti these kids have amazing charisma! He may be small but he truly packs a lot of personality into every step! Who would have thought that Akash could move so effortlessly for someone so young and with very little training. The fox trot is one of our favorite dances and that might be partially because of the beautiful dresses that the women wear! Kamri was dressed in a gorgeous flowing gown that bellowed out into a stunning wave of feathers! With every step her dress was accentuating the lines of the dance – including the amazing aerial jump in the middle of the dance! It’s clear that these two truly L-O-V-E dancing together and are really getting into the joy of dancing. Their smiles during the song were absolutely radiant. We loved Akash and Kamri’s sweet hug at the end of their dance. They showed such joy and overwhelming excitement as they prepared to meet the judges. There’s no question that they were pleased with their hard-earned performance and had a lot of fun in the moment!

TV Interview | Matthew Duke Rodgers | Stand Alone | LitFire Publishing

On May 14, 1989, a student named Duke Rodgers (the author) met a vehicular accident in which caused serious head injuries. He was then a student at the University of Missouri at Columbia. His experience during the process of healing was never easy. But with a strong will to survive, he proved to himself and to the Lord that he can make it despite the emotional and physical pain and difficulty he has experienced during the different ordeals. Once ready to get back to school, Duke requested for accommodation for his learning difficulties in relation to the accident. Unfortunately, the very institution who should have taught him education is the one denying him assistance.

Teens Fight Off Massive Snake Trying To Kill Their Pet Dog (Warning: Graphic Video)

Not for those who are terrified by massive snakes! In this short but truly scary clip, teens are shown fighting off a massive snake in the process of killing their pet dog. Not even man’s best friend is safe from a large hungry snake! Pythons like these have been known to take on large animals and even humans when their hunger strikes! This video first shows the distressed dog yelping as a huge python has strategically has itself coiled around the lower half of the pup’s body. Unable to get up, the dog struggles to free himself from the snake’s grasp. A small group of teens armed with sticks and a passion to save the dog, swoop in to try to fight off the snake. The young rescuers are shown fearlessly attacking the snake’s head with a long metal gardening tool and also nearby palm fronds. The attack on the python seems to be working as the boys get in close enough to start untangling the poor pooch. One of the older boys then grabs hold of the slithery snake’s head (oh my goodness!) and eventually the snake loosens its grip enough for the rescuers to get the snake’s coiled body open. The distressed but rescued dog was able to run away on his own yelping as he fled. Thank God these boys were around to help out man’s best friend in his time of need! Though it is uncertain when and where this video took place, we are thankful the encounter did not end tragically for this very lucky hound.

Michael Bublé - 'When I Fall In Love' (Official Music Video)

This timeless classic, often associated with Nat King Cole, is sung effortlessly by modern day crooner, Michael Bublé. After a short time away from performing and recording, Bublé is back reviving the classic jazz standards that many of us know and love. Michael Bublé quickly rose in popularity with his unmistakable nostalgic voice and his passion for the music of the jazz greats such as Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, and Ella Fitzgerald. Bublé has something special that connects multiple generations through this iconic music. He has a knack for bringing new life to the jazz standards and make them his own without straying too far from the versions that so many love. In 2016, Bublé’s young son was diagnosed with liver cancer. Understandably, Michael’s focus turned to supporting his family instead his music career. Thankfully, little Noah’s cancer treatments are reportedly going well, and Bublé returned to the stage just recently. The family also announced the birth of their third child, a daughter named Vida Amber. Bublé has come back to his performing career in a big way with the release of a new album coming out November 10. If there was an uncertainty in whether he could pick up where he left off, Bublé has calmed the fears with his single from the upcoming album. “When I Fall In Love” has quickly reminded Bublé’s fans of what they’ve been missing while he was on hiatus. The official music video perfectly captures the vintage flare that is so associated with this style of music. “When I fall in love, It will be forever, Or I'll never fall in love, In a restless world, Like this is, Love is ended before it's begun, And too many moonlight kisses, Seem to cool in the warmth of the sun” With the opening swells of the strings and the first line of the chorus, we felt ourselves settle back into our chairs to absorb the charm of Bublé’s voice. It’s clear that Bublé isn’t taking any moments for granted and has a new perspective to infuse in

God I Look To You - Bethany Wohrle | Heaven Come 2018

“God I look to You, I won’t be overwhelmed, Give me vision to see things like You do, God I look to You, You’re where my help comes from, Give me wisdom; You know just what to do” ‘God I Look To You’ is a beautiful reminder of where to keep our focus in life – on our Heavenly Father above. It’s so easy to allow our minds to be fixated on our own strength and the burdens that we carry daily. This simple worship song sung by Christian singer Bethany Wohrle is a perfect word of encouragement spoken over our lives! When our eyes are set on Him, the burdens and worries that we carry aren’t able to pull us under the “waves” of life. As the chorus is sung, it’s a vocal confirmation of our adoration to the Father. He is indeed our strength, our shield and our rock! There is no one greater than our Lord and even when facing a storm, believers can hold tight to the knowledge that we are not alone! “Hallelujah our God reigns, Hallelujah our God reigns,Hallelujah our God reigns, forever all my days Hallelujah” May we keep this anthem in our hearts throughout the day and realize that only with help from God can we tackle the challenges in life. We need Him and not just to make our lives “easy” but rather to walk with us and be a comfort as we keep our joy in spite of difficult situations!

ICU Staff Line Hospital Hallway To Honor Organ Donor With ‘Walk of Respect’

There was not a dry eye in the hospital as ICU Staffers joined family and friends for an organ donor's "Walk Of Respect". Many times heroes save lives by giving up their own. In some instances, this could be by organ donation. These kind individuals see the value in the opportunity to bring new life to someone else by agreeing to be one the organ donor list should something happen to them. Organ donors deserve every bit of honor and respect when their time comes for donating. Medical staff at St. Luke’s Hospital in Idaho joined the family of one such organ donor in a touching moment of silence. The moving processional was captured on video. "All available staff" were called to the fourth floor of St. Luke's to line the hallways and show their appreciation. As the hospital bed holding a 53-year-old donor was wheeled toward surgery, the medical staff filled the unit hallways for a time they call the “Walk of Respect”. The gentleman being honored was being moved to a surgical room where he was taken off of life support and able to have a much needed organ(s) donated. This is a difficult time for many families who are seeing their loved ones in their final moments. It’s not easy for the medical staff either. Often they interact with both families. ICU surgical unit staffers realize that this is a beautiful moment for those who are waiting for their family member to have a new lease on life by acquiring a much needed organ donation. But there is also a difficult journey being walked by the family and friends who are saying goodbye to their loved one. Standing in silence for this final “walk” is St. Luke's way of expressing gratitude for such a special selfless act and to show support for these families. The opportunity to bless others in such a difficult time is one that should not be overlooked. From the medical staff supporting the families, to the friends, and the organ donors themselves, this is such a beautiful way to show love and concern for one ano
