This special man was always there for Steve and provided him with endless amounts of happy memories. Sadly, at the age of 92, George Hartman passed away. Now, Steve is honoring his father’s memory with one last news story and it’s sure to tug at every heartstring. He shares his favorite moments and some of the important morals that his father left behind. Steve ended the segment by saying, “A great parent does a lot more than make you wash behind your ears. A great parent is a miracle worker who can mold a helpless blob like this one into a child who feels invincible. And, although losing such a parent can feel like kryptonite, remembering them in all their glory can make your heart fly.” If you have a parent like this, you know the heartache that comes from their loss. But rest easy knowing that they left their wisdom in us and they are truly in a better place. So many incredible acts have already hit the stage with talents like singing, karate, and daredevil stunts. Today, we’re hearing the voice of Sister Cristina Scuccia and it’s one audition that you don’t want to miss. The world first met this talent when she auditioned for The Voice Italy. Her performance of ‘No One’ by Alicia Keys became a viral sensation racking up millions of views online. She was dubbed ‘The Singing Nun.’ Sister Cristina went on to win the entire competition and even released her own album. Now, she’s competing with talents from all over the world in this one-of-a-kind contest. Just listen as she steps onto the stage and confidently belts out the words to ‘Born This Way’ from Lady Gaga. This rocking audition had the whole crowd clapping along. She earned a score of 78 from the judges and wall, which means that Sister Cristina will be moving on to the next round of competition. Grammy award-winning artist Lauren Daigle talks the meaning behind her hit single, ‘You Say.’ This powerful song has touched hearts all over the world with it’s inspiring and uplifting message. “You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing You say I am strong when I think I am weak And You say I am held when I am falling short When I don’t belong, oh You say that I am Yours And I believe, oh I believe What You say of me Oh, I believe” The song is a perfect reminder that in spite of what others might say, ultimately it’s God’s words that ring true over our lives. Today, Lauren is at the 2019 Grammy Awards and she’s discussing the popular tune. ‘You Say’ won the award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song and now Lauren is sharing the meaning behind the words. She goes on to mention that she went through some struggles a few years ago and needed to remind herself that God always loves her. With the help of a producer, she wrote down the powerful words that she felt in her heart. With this song, Lauren hopes that others going through a similar situation can find hope in God. “I just want everybody to feel God’s love and His kindness in those kinds of moments.” During the award’s ceremony, Lauren also took home the Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for ‘Look Up Child.’ 2019 is already looking to be a big year for this talented Christian artist.

After a devastating battle with Lyme Disease, Avril penned this song about leaning on her faith in tough times. “God, keep my head above water Don't let me drown, it gets harder I'll meet you there at the altar As I fall down to my knees” ‘Head Above Water’ is a beautiful piano ballad that allows the lyrics to shine through in an incredible way. This is such a personal song for Avril and a true anthem for those fighting any kind of battle. Sometimes, we need a reminder that God is always standing beside us, no matter what. These powerful lyrics truly give us a renewed sense of hope and strength. “God, keep my head above water I lose my breath at the bottom Come rescue me, I'll be waiting I'm too young to fall asleep” Avril belts out the words as the musical guest on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. This performance truly shows her growth and strength as an artist and person. We are getting a look at an entirely different side of this singer and it’s a refreshing turn. No matter our struggles, God can always save us. He will support us when we need lifting and be our strength when we feel that all is lost. Her entire family had a talent for music, but it seemed that Vonnie had not been given that gift. She felt out of place and would pray for the ability to sing. She shared her story with CBS Local saying, “I just started praying, every single day I would pray to God to be able to sing with my family.” At the age of 14, her prayers were answered and she belted out a song at youth service with perfect pitch. From that moment on, she was going to sing to anyone that would listen. Now, she’s taking her talents to the big stage with an incredible performance of Andrae Couch’s “My Tribute (To God Be The Glory).” Her soul-filled song touched every single judge and they all gave her rave reviews. Vonnie took everyone to church and it’s a moment that you don’t want to miss. I can’t wait to see what she performs next.

It was a moment full of tears when 4 brothers step in for their late father at their sister’s wedding. A woman’s wedding day is full of love and laughter. It is the momentous day that she and her husband commit themselves to one another in front of their family and the Lord. Sometimes, there are happy tears and sometimes, there are tears of sadness as we mourn those who cannot be there. This bride’s father passed away before her wedding, so her brothers decided to stand in and take care of their sister. During the reception, the new bride traditionally dances with her father. At this particular wedding, the four brothers took turns dancing with the tear-filled sister to their favorite childhood song. As soon as the music to Disney’s ‘Beauty And The Beast’ starts to play, the tears start flowing from everyone. “Tale as old as time True as it can be Barely even friends Then somebody bends Unexpectedly” Even though this father could not be there in person, I just know that he’s smiling from Heaven watching his family. Who else is wiping away a tear or two? She confidently stepped on stage to belt out the inspiring lyrics of ‘Rise Up.’ “And I'll rise up I'll rise like the day I'll rise up I'll rise unafraid I'll rise up And I'll do it a thousand times again” This young girl’s performance was so powerful that it moved judge Drew Barrymore to tears. She later remarked on the audition by saying, “We hope for these moments on this show, and you moved me to tears.” It was truly a goosebump-inducing performance and she left all the judges in awe. This song has been covered by countless voices since it’s release, but this Kazakhstan native might have the best rendition yet. You can truly feel her passion behind every single note. And she hits each one perfectly. If Daneliya sounds this good right now, I can’t imagine her talents in a few years. Who else wants to hear more from this young girl?

A South Carolina teacher credits God when she helps a student save his father’s life after finding the boy biking down a busy highway. Keller Sutherland is a first-grade teacher at Ellen Woodside Elementary in Greenville County, South Carolina. She was driving home when she noticed a young boy riding his bike down a busy highway. When she turned her car around, that’s when she realized that the young boy was one of her former students. 7-year-old Cameron was trying to get help for his diabetic father who had collapsed at home. He tried to dial 911, but didn’t know the passcode on his father’s phone and none of his neighbors answered the door. Cameron did the only thing he could think of and climbed on his bike to ride the 5-mile journey to his grandmother’s house. It was during that trek that Keller spotted Cameron and two other gentlemen also stopped to help. They called emergency services who were able to get to Cameron’s house and assist his father. This kind teacher knew that God placed her in the right place at the right time so that she would be able to help young Cameron. In fact, Keller was having a rough day at work before this situation. “God just showed up in an amazing way. On a day when I felt I wasn't making an impact, He just intervened and placed me where I needed to be for Cameron.” What a powerful statement from this kind-hearted teacher. And Cameron and his father are forever grateful for her assistance in their time of need.

Acclaimed Christian musician and producer, Don Moen teams up with Loyiso Bala for an incredible rendition of the classic hymn ‘How Great Thou Art.’ This hymn is always a blessing to hear and this duo uses their talented vocals to give all the praise to the Lord. “O Lord, my God, when I in awesome wonder Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder Thy power throughout the universe displayed” Our Lord is mighty and great. Each day, He gives us so many blessings we are grateful for every one. Through His wisdom and power, God proves over and over why He is beyond worthy of all our love and praise. Today, Don Moen, Loyiso Bala and an incredible worship team are put those feelings into words with this hymn favorite. “Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee How great Thou art, how great Thou art Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee How great Thou art, how great Thou art” God loves us no matter. These lyrics are the perfect reminder that despite our sins, the Lord will always stand by our side. It is such an amazing feeling knowing that we serve such a loving and caring Father in Heaven. Who else is saying amen right now? Psalm 147:4-5 “He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names. Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.”

A newborn baby rescued from a storm drain is recovering at a hospital in South Africa. It was a heartbreaking moment passerbys in Durban, South Africa heard a baby’s cries coming from a storm drain. That’s when one of the strangers climbed into the drain and saw the newborn baby girl. First responders were quickly called to the scene to assist with her removal which involved breaking into the drain with a hammer and chisel. This miraculous video shows the baby girl being removed from the storm drain and carried to safety. She was immediately rushed to the hospital where doctors assessed her condition. The newborn still had her umbilical cord attached, so doctors estimate she was no more than three days old. And despite the traumatic conditions, the infant only sustained minor injuries. Authorities do not know who her parents are but an investigation is currently underway. Children are a gift from God and it’s so upsetting to know that someone would toss their baby in a storm drain, like a piece of trash. Thankfully, these bystanders stepped in and helped this newborn get to safety. We are praying for this sweet, innocent baby girl. Psalm 127: 3-5 “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.”

It was a moment full of song and praise when these nuns dance to Queen’s iconic song ‘We Will Rock You.’ When these women of God all gathered around tables together, I thought it was just going to be a time of fellowship and conversation. I had no idea that they were going to let loose in the most incredible way. It all starts when someone turns on the stereo and Queen begins to play. A seated nun bangs on the table, in tune with the beat. Then, the camera pans to other women standing at the front of the room. They are dancing along to this unlikely tune and having a great time. More of the nuns start to clap along and sing the famous lyrics. But the biggest surprise of all was when one nun stepped into the middle of the room for the guitar solo. And she definitely nailed every single note. Normally, when we think of nuns, images of stoic women with somber looks on their faces come to mind. I definitely don’t think of ladies listening to rock music. But who says that women of God can’t have variety in their choice of music? It is obvious that they were having a blast during this entire song and so was I! What did you think of this rock number? Psalm 149:3-4 “3 Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp. 4 For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.”

It was a tearjerker captured on camera when this woman sings the classic hymn ‘Amazing Grace’ to dying husband. Just days before he passed away, Danielle Gibson beautifully sang the touching words to her husband, Tony, as he gazed at her from his hospital bed. “Amazing Grace, How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost, but now am found T'was blind but now I see T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear And Grace, my fears relieved How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed” Tony battled Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, a rare and incurable disorder that can cause dementia, limited mobility and memory issues. Danielle describes the heartbreaking disease as the human form of mad-cow disease. The condition came on quickly and, within a year, Tony was placed in an assisted living facility. Near the end, not much could calm him down. But during this special moment, Danielle started to sing ‘Amazing Grace’ and Tony could not take his eyes off of her. Danielle said that this was his favorite hymn. Sadly, Tony passed away just a few days after this video was taken, leaving behind his wife and four daughters. Danielle hopes that by sharing this video and Tony’s story, that more recognition will be placed on Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease and finding a cure. We will continue to keep this family in our prayers as they weather this difficult storm. Revelation 21:4 “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Plane crash survivor and golden buzzer winner, Kechi Okwuchi, returns to America’s Got Talent: The Champions stage with another powerful performance. Kechi was just 16 years old when she was in a horrific plane crash that took the lives of 107 people. She was one of only two survivors and the crash left her battling to heal physically and emotionally. While Kechi was trapped in her hospital bed, bandaged from head to foot, she looked to music as a way to escape. Years later, she decided to follow her dreams and audition for America’s Got Talent. Her story touched everyone’s heart but it was Kechi’s voice that really struck a chord. She made it all the way to the finals and now, Kechi is back for another shot at winning on America’s Got Talent: The Champions. This special format features 50 contestants who have won or been featured on previous editions of the show. These competitors come from all over the world and now they’re all vying for the ultimate winner’s title. During the first round, Kechi earned judge Simon Cowell’s coveted golden buzzer with her rendition of ‘You Are The Reason" by Callum Scott. Today, she is belting out the words to ‘Opportunity’ and it’s another stunning performance. Simon, once again, had kind words to say about this talented vocalist. “There’s always one word that comes back to me to describe you and that is inspiration.” There’s no doubt that Kechi is an inspiration to us all and I hope we continue to hear her voice for years to come.

It was a terrifying moment when this man fell on the ice during a hockey game and had no pulse for 5 minutes. For Jib Street, hockey is a way of life. He has been playing the game since he was a child and showed no signs of stopping. But during a recent game in Pineville, North Carolina, Jib had a moment that changed his life. While skating around the rink, he suddenly dropped to the ground while suffering from cardiac arrest. He had no pulse for 5 minutes, but that’s when something miraculous happened. One of the other hockey players is an emergency room doctor and he rushed to Jib’s side. Dr. Craig Bryant started CPR on Jib and others skaters hurried to call an ambulance. Finally, they located an AED machine at the rink and the doctor used the device. Jib is extremely grateful for everyone’s help during his time of need, especially having a doctor on hand. “That's the miracle. I'm skating with an emergency room doctor. This is my guardian angel.” God definitely put Dr. Bryant in the right place at the right time. Now, Jib is out of the hospital and on the road to recovery. But this hockey fanatic wanted to thank the doctor in a special way, so he gave Dr. Bryant one of his most prized possessions. Just watch this sweet moment when Jib hands over a hockey jersey signed by the iconic athlete, Wayne Gretzky. What an incredible gift to express all that gratitude.
