12-Year-Old Ashley Marina Sings 3 Times For Simon Then Earns A Standing Ovation

12-year-old Ashley Marina sang 3 different songs during her America’s Got Talent audition before finally earning a standing ovation. When we first met Ashley, she immediately won us over with her contagious personality and positivity. We even met Ashley’s best friend, her adorable guinea pig who helps her with vocal warm-ups. But when she stepped onto the America’s Got Talent stage, things weren’t so positive. After belting out the lyrics to Martina McBride's ‘Anyway,’ I thought Ashley would easily move on to the next round. But before the song was through, judge Simon Cowell held up his hand to stop the song. "I think you've got a good voice. It's a good song, but not right for you, the first one." He asked Ashley to perform her second song, without the backing track. So, this young talent sang Sia’s hit song ‘Opportunity’ completely a cappella. Once again, Simon stopped the singer and offered her a chance to come back later with an entirely new song that showcased her vocals. While grateful for the opportunity, Ashley felt nervous about her song selection. After some stressful moments, Ashley decided to sing from the heart and use an original song written about her father titled ‘You'll Always Be My Hero.’ And this one was a definite hit with the audience and judges. The 12-year-old even earned a thumbs-up from Simon after the performance. Now, Ashley will move on to the next round of competition where she will continue to compete for the title of America’s top talent. Who else is rooting for this girl?

'We Belong To Each Other' Garth Brooks Unity Anthem Aims To Inspire

Country superstar Garth Brooks inspires with his latest single ‘We Belong To Each Other.’ As our world walks through uncertain times, these words remind us all to come together and unite. “Ain’t no storm can untie us For all it may try. We’re all leaves on the same tree Under one sky.” Garth is known all over the world for his classic songs such as “If Tomorrow Never Comes’ and ‘The Dance.’ And when you learn that his personality is just as amazing as his music, you'll understand why Garth has truly stood the test of time. Recently, Garth sat down for an interview with Good Morning America host Robin Roberts. When she asked him about new music, he shared that he wrote a new song about the current state of the world. He sent it to Robin first, who was given the option of keeping it to herself or sharing it with others. Robin posted the video on Facebook with the caption, "My beloved momma always said “everybody’s got something”....whatever your something is that you’re facing I hope this brings you as much comfort as it has for me," "We belong to each other We are sister and brother Born to love one another." During these troubling days, we can use words like this to help lift and inspire. We are all God’s children and we are precious in His sight. Never forget that we are stronger together and that together, we will all see brighter days ahead.

Acoustic Cover Of 'Grandpa (Tell Me 'Bout The Good Old Days)'

The Canadian duo of MTL perform a stunning acoustic cover of ‘Grandpa (Tell Me 'Bout The Good Old Days).’ This classic country song was originally recorded by The Judds. It was released in 1986 and went straight to the top of the charts. Over the years, the song has become a beloved favorite covered by countless artists. “Grandpa, tell me about the good ol days Sometimes it feels like this world’s gone crazy And Grandpa, take me back to yesterday when the line between right and wrong don’t seem so hazy “ Today, the brothers of Music, Travel, Love or MTL, are putting their own spin on this iconic tune. MTL is comprised of Bob and Clint Moffatt who have been performing since they were toddlers. Now, they’re making music all around the world with their traveling studio and sharing their incredible creations. For this performance, the brothers are in Magdalen Islands, Quebec for an acoustic cover of ‘Grandpa (Tell Me 'Bout The Good Old Days).’ “And Grandpa, let’s wander back into the past and paint me the picture of love long ago Did lovers really fall in love to stay and stand beside each other come what may Was a promise something someone really kept not just something they would say and then forget Did families really bow their heads to pray Did Daddy’s really never go away” These words always take me back and it’s truly the dose of nostalgia that my heart needed today. Who else remembers this country hit?

'Father And Son Sing 'Cats In The Cradle' Duet

One father and son sing a duet of Harry Chapin’s Grammy-nominated song ‘Cats In The Cradle’. “My child arrived just the other day, he came to the world in the usual way But there were planes to catch, and bills to pay, he learned to walk while I was away And he was talking 'fore I knew it, and as he grew he'd say ‘I'm gonna be like you, dad, you know I'm gonna be like you’ And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon, little boy blue and the man in the moon ‘When you coming home, dad?’ ‘I don't know when’ But we'll get together then, you know we'll have a good time then” The father starts off singing the song while his son plays the piano. Then the dad picks up his guitar, and they both start to harmonize beautifully as they sing the chorus together. The dad in this video is Tom Frye, and he is the lead singer in the Frye Family Band which consists of him, his family, and a family friend. “Welcome to our family!” their bio reads on the band’s website. “We are the Frye Family Band – Kaylyn, Maggie & Seth Neal, Jonathon, Lisa Frye, and Eric Reynolds. It’s an honor to have our children thoroughly entrenched in the band (Kaylyn vocals, rhythm guitar, bass guitar, upright bass, Maggie vocals, keyboard, hammer dulcimer, lap dulcimer, ukulele, Jonathon vocals, drums and bass guitar, keys, recorder, ukulele, Maggie’s husband Seth rounds out the band on bass guitar, rhythm guitar, vocals) and Lisa assisting with Compassion International Child Sponsorship. And where would we be without Eric Reynolds on drums!” It is wonderful to see this Christian group come together as a family and use their gifts to honor the Lord! May they continue doing what they love and bring joy to the people they perform for!

'When You Wish Upon A Star' Opera Performance From Katherine Jenkins

In this lovely performance, opera singer Katherine Jenkins stuns with her rendition of ‘When You Wish Upon A Star’. “When you wish upon a star, makes no difference who you are Anything your heart desires will come to you If your heart is in your dream, no request is too extreme When you wish upon a star as dreamers do” What an incredibly beautiful voice Katherine has! And her dress is stunning and fits so perfectly with the magical setting that she is performing in during this music video. Her rendition of ‘When You Wish Upon A Star’ can be found on her new album titled Cinema Paradiso. “Absolutely lovely, Katherine, as always,” comments one person on the YouTube video. “And one of my favorite songs since childhood long ago.” “There is just something so perfect about all of the arrangements for her music that has this feeling of helplessly melting into yourself,” writes another person on YouTube. “The music is so, so beautiful.” Katherine Jenkins is a Welsh mezzo-soprano and is known for performing operatic arias, popular songs, musical theatre, and hymns. She became popular after she sang at Westminster Cathedral in 2003 to honor Pope John Paul II's silver jubilee. Since then, Katherine has performed widely in concert, including performing for British troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. She has also sung at many sporting events, on television shows, and in support of many charities. We hope you can enjoy her beautiful performance of ‘When You Wish Upon A Star’ today and find peace in her soothing voice. Here are also a few Bible verses about peace to meditate on as you go about your day. 2 Thessalonians 3:16 “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.” Psalm 4:8 “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.” Colossians 3:15 “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”

'Holes In The Floor Of Heaven' Grand Ole Opry Performance From Steve Wariner

Steve Wariner gives a great performance of his song ‘Holes In The Floor Of Heaven’ at the Grand Ole Opry in honor of the late Opry house band member Jimmy Capps. “One day shy of eight years old, when grandma passed away. I was a broken-hearted little boy, blowing out that birthday cake. How I cried when the sky let go, with a cold lonesome rain. My mom smiled, said: ‘Don't be sad child. Grandma's watching you today.’ Cause there's holes in the floor of Heaven, and her tears are pouring down. That's how you know she's watching, wishing she could be here now. An' sometimes if you're lonely, just remember she can see. There's holes in the floor of Heaven, and she's watching over you and me." Steve Wariner is an American country music artist and began his solo career in the late 1970s. He has released eighteen studio albums and over fifty singles for several different record labels. He has also won three Country Music Association awards, one Academy of Country Music award, and is a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Jimmy Capp, who recently passed away at the age of 81, was also a legendary guitarist and member of the Grand Ole Opry. Jimmy performed with almost every 20th century country music artist and has strummed on some of the most famous songs of the genre. One of the rehearsal spaces at the Grand Ole Opry is dedicated to him as it is called the “Jimmy Capps Music Room.” “I’m a huge fan and ‘Holes In The Floor Of Heaven’ is such a beautiful song,” comments one person on YouTube. “It was such a touching tribute to Jimmy Capps with his guitars on stage and this song. Thank You so much for sharing this with us.” “One of Steve's most impactful songs. Fitting tribute to recently departed Jimmy Capps. RIP,” writes another person online. “Love the display of Jimmy's guitars on stage.” We hope you enjoyed this beautiful tribute by Steve Wariner for the talented Jimmy Capp.

God's Purpose For You

God made each of us to bring glory to Him. You are not an accident and you are not here 'just to exist.' You were created on purpose, for a purpose, and with a purpose. Draw close to God and allow Him to work through you to use your life to serve His purposes and glorify Him.

'And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.'-Romans 8:28

'You've Got A Friend' Southern Raised Bluegrass

Enjoy this unique rendition of ‘You’ve Got A Friend’ from the talented siblings of Southern Raised Bluegrass. This Carole King classic became a smash hit after it’s release in 1971. The song spurned multiple covers from notable artists including James Taylor, Michael Jackson and Dusty Springfield. “You just call out my name And you know wherever I am I'll come running, to see you again Winter, spring, summer or fall All you have to do is call And I'll be there You've got a friend” Siblings Lindsay, Sarah, Emily and Matt make up the Southern Raised Bluegrass band. The group was raised in the Ozark Mountains and they have blended their traditional music upbringing with multiple genres and their deep-rooted faith. They describe themselves as creating a ‘Southern Raised trademark sound where classical meets bluegrass and city streets meets country roads. SR has morphed a progressive sound that spans Christian Country/ Bluegrass, Celtic and Classical.’ Today, they’re taking on the beloved classic ‘You’ve Got A Friend’ and it’s the perfect compliment to their unique vocals and sound. “Ain't it good to know you've got a friend? Ain't it good to know, ain't it good to know, ain't it good to know You've got a friend?” When I hear these words, I’m instantly transported back in time. It’s so refreshing to watch the younger generation pay tribute to the timeless songs of the past. This was just the dose of nostalgia that my heart needed to hear today. What about you?
