There is always something entertaining about a young man with a great voice. In this video a 16-year-old nails the “Sound of Silence” cover during school.
Ruben Liversage is a 16-year-old with the pipes of the next Scotty McCreery. At the beginning of the video you see a boy dressed in all white with smoke and lights. Out of his mouth comes a strong, deep, bass voice. From the side a boy and girl dance beautifully to his dark melody. Then the lights come up and reveal the boy in a white military uniform with a full choir behind him. The show choir dances and sings in a real complimentary way to Ruben. The entire performance is stunning and flows so naturally.
There is a real melancholy intrigue within his performance. The song, “Sound of Silence” was originally produced in 1964. It was written by Simon and Garfunkel. According to SMF “‘The Sound of Silence’ is symbolic of people’s inabilities to effectively communicate with each other on an emotional level.”
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains, the sound of silence
We all experience emotional hardships at times just like the expression of this song. However, we can pour our hearts out to our God who loves us just like Joseph, David, even Jesus, and many who have gone before us.
Christians know that we will have hard times in this world. However, we can have the hope of Christ in our lives and victory through His resurrection. It is also such a gift to be able to express and share our feelings with others to learn that we are not alone. No matter what darkness you are going through, you are seen and loved by the Lord. You are more than this battle. He has overcome and given you that victory too.
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33

Is age just a number? Well, the spry and surprisingly flexible Dick Van Dyke seems to think so. He turned 95 in December and he is antsy to get back to living life the way it was pre-pandemic.
Well-loved for his roles on classic TV shows and the beloved films Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Dick has brought magic, fun, and a love for musicals over the years. But how can this 95-year-old still have a kick in his step and a twinkle in his eye? The scruffy white bearded and well-loved actor recently opened up about his secret to staying young!
He showed off parts of his workout routine that he does every morning in his backyard. From sit ups to yoga—he says that a part of keeping himself young includes how he sees himself. He doesn’t view himself as an old man. Instead, Dick thinks of himself as an active actor and dancer. His line of thought is definitely a nod to Proverbs 23:7, “what a man thinks, so he becomes.” It’s also a reminder to take our thoughts captive!
He also shared that staying young includes dancing. That’s right! Dick is five years short of being 100 years old and he still loves to dance! Dick shared his thoughts about the Mary Poppins reboot where he was filmed dressed in a three-piece tuxedo standing on top of a dining room table. In this scene, he kicks up his heels and dances to the beat as he shooed away other actors who were concerned he might fall. But he proved to his fellow actors and actresses on the set that he’s still got the moves!
It just goes to show if we believe we are 30 years young or 95 years young, it does have an affect on our daily lives and our mindset. Even in our old age, we can still bear fruit—dancing, singing, mentoring, and imparting wisdom to the younger generation. Leave it to Dick to not only continue making films we love to but also remind us that age really is just a number.
“They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green,” Psalms 92:14.
I just love watching an adorable animal video, don’t you? You’ll fall in love with this protective pup as it prevents a baby from climbing the steps.
In this video, Lisa the great dane puppy of 5 months will not allow the 1-year-old baby to climb up the stairs. The family lives in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. As the adorable boy is standing at the bottom of the steps in the living room, the faithful pup comes to the rescue. Lisa pushes him downwards with her paw trying to keep him from climbing.
The boy does not give up, so the great dane does not stop there. She then lays across the second step as a barricade. This dog means business and she is not going to allow the baby to climb up the stairs.
After making a few efforts to outmaneuver his pet, eventually the baby sits down and turns to crawl in another direction. Lisa then gets off of the stairs and walks next to the boy as he moves elsewhere. It is absolutely the sweetest thing watching this dog protect and shield this baby from danger. Lisa knows that if that boy climbs up the stairs it could lead to injury. It is incredible to see an animal act so instinctively with a child. This puppy appears to love this baby and will do whatever it takes to keep him safe.
This reminds me of how we unknowingly can try to head down paths that lead us to destruction. However, when we have the gift of the Holy Spirit, we have safety. He acts as a protector to us. He gives us warning and conviction, just like Lisa did for the baby boy in this video. We can rest in the fact that our God is our great Defender.
"But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one." 2 Thessalonians 3:3
In this incredible video a trio gives a Disney song a rock makeover for a surprising AGT audition.
In this clip, Simon welcomes a group of young men and they introduce themselves as T.3. Simon asks how they met and they share that a little more than a year ago one of the guys reached out to the other two because he saw their youtube account. The guys put together a trio and have been getting together on a weekly basis for 14 months.
The judges do not seem very impressed in the beginning. Sophia asks if they have “done this in a big stage like this?” One man responds that they were singing in one of their parent’s staircases for the year. A look of concern comes over Sophia. He continues to say, “This is the first time we have really been able to be in front of people.” Howie asks, “Do you think that what you have to offer is worthy of a million dollars and winning here?”
In response one performer shares, “Yeah, we are super excited.” The judges look very skeptical of these “average Joes,” but then the trio opens their mouths and everything changes.
The three men harmonize and blend stunningly to “Into the Unknown” from Frozen 2. The judges are blown away. You can see the joy and confidence in their faces as they move to the music and belt their hearts out.
At the end of the performance, everyone stands in ovation. This clip reminds us not to judge by the outward appearance. The judges underestimated this group of men based on where they came from and what they looked like, however T.3 is an amazingly talented trio. It is easy for us too to have preconceived notions about other people, but very important for us to think the best and love well.
"My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory." James 2:1
It is a wonderful feeling to find something that has been missing, especially if it’s been gone for a long time. In this video, a lost wallet is returned to the grateful owner after 46 years.
Colleen Distin lives in Ventura, California. In 1975, she was going to see the movie Jaws and lost her wallet that evening at the Majestic Theater. The cleaning crew was unable to find it. Little did she know that 46 years later the theater would undergo renovations that would bring her prized possession filled with memories back to her.
Tom Stevens found the wallet in a crawlspace. In this clip, Colleen shares about rediscovering this missing treasure. Social media was used for good and she was able to claim her item. Colleen pulls out many of the pictures that were tucked inside. Photos were found of her mother and a trip to Mexico, and a concert ticket. The only thing that was not there was $200. The theater graciously gave her her missing $200 from 1975. . . with inflation. They generously gifted Colleen $1000! Colleen was moved to tears as she replied, “I’m speechless.” Filled with emotion, Colleen embraced her wallet’s finder, Tom.
The gift of giving is a joyful opportunity. I love how this video highlights the generosity of Tom and the employees of the Majestic Theater. They not only took the time to return the wallet to the rightful owner, but they blessed Colleen financially five times what was lost. This makes me think about how the Lord is able to do more than we can ask or imagine. He often works in unexpected ways, just like this video portrays.
"Now to him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, To him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen." Ephesians 3:20-21

Courageous is just one adjective that can be used to describe the principal who sang the perennial classic “I Will Always Love You” to say goodbye to his graduating seniors. Principal Marcus Gause’s performance was also very heartwarming.
T. Wingate Andrews High School is a public magnet school in High Point, NC that prepares students for careers in aviation and health sciences. Principal Gause is much beloved by the 700 ‘Red Raider’ students. That shared affection grew even stronger following the send-off Principal Gause gave graduates.
Dolly Parton wrote and recorded “I Will Always Love You” in 1973 as a farewell to her mentor, friend, and partner, Porter Wagoner. Whitney Houston recorded a very different arrangement in 1992 for the soundtrack of The Bodyguard. In the movie, Whitney’s character parts ways with her employee who has also become a love interest.
After introducing us to Principal Gause and T Wingate Andrews High School, this video shares a snippet of the principal’s performance. It doesn’t take much to see the impact that his singing—and, perhaps, the singing of that song, in particular—makes on students and guests. He points into the crowd in a way that no doubt assures each student there that he is singing directly to them!
When asked about nerves, Principal Gause says that he was definitely unsure about attempting a song that had been performed by musical greats Whitney and Dolly. But, he did so anyway. With the song’s lyrics as his motivation, Marcus belted out his goodbye. One student shared that he’ll never forget his principal’s singing at the graduation ceremony and will always benefit from the positive impact the principal made in his life.
Ultimately, Principal Gause says, “One of the things that the pandemic has really taught us is that we need more love. That students know that we love and care for them.” Prior to T. Wingate Andrews High School’s recent graduation, many may have been Team Whitney or Team Dolly. I bet there’s a lot of folks who are now ‘Team Marcus.’
With his own style and a uniquely different type of love behind the words, Principal Gause delivers a heartfelt message for today’s young people. Courageous, yes! We think committed, caring, and compassionate, too! The world needs more dedicated and inspiring educators like Marcus Gause!
“To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.” Mark 12:33
It is always inspiring when you see older people receiving their just rewards. In this video, a 92-year-old crossing guard retires and gets the sweetest goodbye.
Robert Frew is a 92-year-old man who chose at the age of 75 to begin working as a school crossing guard in Florida. Each proudly wore his uniform, ‘elbow-fiving’ kids while he held up his stop sign to help them and their parents cross the road. In this viral video, Robert shares, “I was only going to do it for a couple of years, but it gets into your blood.” Before starting his second career with the school, Robert worked at a phone company.
The school gave him an honoring send-off with parents wearing matching t-shirts and holding posters that said, “Happy Retirement Mr. Bob.” In this super sweet clip you see small kids hugging “Mr. Bob” and cars honking in celebration. The principal of the school kindly declares June 4th “Robert Frew Day!”
This reminds me of the popular Bible verse that tells us to do everything for the glory of the Lord. I love how Bob found such joy in his job and wasn’t defined by his age. Since he remained in good health, he took the opportunity to brighten the days of others.
Bob chose to use his retirement years to be a blessing to his community. This not only gave others joy, but it brought a lot of fun into Bob’s life. This is a wonderful reminder that as long as we are breathing, the Lord has a purpose for us.
Although we might have different roles in various seasons, we have a purpose in Christ. Sometimes in the daily routine of work, we can forget our value. I hope that this video encourages you that whatever you do, do it for the glory of God.
“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." 1 Corinthians 10:31
