It might seem like a normal middle school basketball game, but prepare to get the tissues. A teen runs into her dad’s arms after making her first basketball shot.

In this clip, we see the words, “my baby’s first shot in a game, what a moment.” A girl is passed the ball at the foul shot line during a play, she squats and shoots with all of her focus. As she makes the basket, she screams with joy, and the crowd cheers. 

Suddenly, the girl’s mind is no longer on the game, but she is focused solely on running to her father. He unashamedly runs towards her onto the court and he picks her up and hugs her. She sobs beautifully in his arms and they take a special moment between the two of them.  

Then, the dad puts the daughter down and pats her on the back and she runs back to the court in tears to rejoin her teammates. She has a hard time pulling herself together because she is so joyfully overwhelmed by what she just accomplished.

We have no idea how much this young woman practiced or dreamed of making her first hoop in a basketball game, but clearly, her father was an encouragement to her and she felt compelled to run to him, not caring about the game, but about the man who loved her well.

In our faith, we are all given unique opportunities to “shoot hoops for Christ.” When we have those victorious moments in our skills or ideas, may we never forget to run to our Father and thank Him and give credit where it is due.

This is an artistic and fun performance. 13-year-old viral violinist performs a surprise duet with Lindsey Stirling.

Karolina Protsenko went viral for her violin videos. She is a Ukrainian girl now living in Los Angeles, who is very gifted in violin. Karolina has had over 2 billion views on her youtube channel. She has always looked up to well-known violinist and composer, Lindsey Stirling. 

Kelly Clarkson surprises Karolina to not only meet Lindsey but to perform with her on the show. In this video, Kelly announces the performance of Karolina with Lindsey. They play “Guardian” by Lindsey Stirling. 

The two girls play and dance. They have such passion and joy in their music. With every kick of their feet and twirl, they still manage to hit every note. In this beautiful live performance they play in perfect harmony with one another and they enjoy every minute. The crowd is amazed and when they finish the song, Kelly is so excited at their performance. 

The two young women have put their hearts and souls into their music and in developing their skills. Their combination of ballet and violin is a stunning idea. As we witness two generations playing side by side, it reminds us of the gift of passing on the torch of what we learn. 

As Christ-followers, we are reminded that it is valuable to share our love for God and our knowledge of the Scriptures with those who come after us in hopes that they will have the same passion and fervor for the Lord. Faith in Jesus is for all people of all times, so we need to be compassionately sharing His love and message to all generations.

There is no doubt about it that this girl can sing. Kenedi Anderson earns a platinum ticket to Hollywood with an applause-worthy piano performance.

In this spectacular audition, Kenedi shows the judges that her young age of 17 does not matter in the singing competition. As the sweet young woman walks in and shares her story, we learn that Kenedi has traveled a lot due to her dad’s job. 

She is one of six kids and the moves have been difficult for her to make friends, but her family is close. Kenedi says that everyone in her family is into athletics, but her interest is music. She is seen songwriting at her piano.

As she begins her audition and sits down at the piano, she begins to sing and the judges are in complete shock. She has such a mature and confident voice for such a young person. Her voice is very rich and soulful. She is wowing the judges with every note and their expressions are big. They are all trying to maintain their excitement. After she sings, all of the judges stand in applause. They tell her that she is going to be huge. She tears up.

The judges tell Kenedi that she is the full package and this is the start of her career. They let her know that they believe in her and ask her to bring her mother in. Kenedi’s mom comes in and the judges share that they have decided to give her a special ticket that is in every city which is a superstar ticket. She receives the platinum ticket and will get to go to Hollywood and skip a competition round in honor of the show's 20th anniversary.

Just as Kenedi received a platinum ticket unexpectedly, we have received above and beyond what we can ask or think of in Jesus. We might feel young in our faith or inadequate at times, but the Lord Himself has welcomed us into His kingdom.

"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” Ephesians 3:20

Enjoy the violin sounds of 13-year-old Karolina Protsenko as she performs a street rendition of ‘Rolling In the Deep.’

This song was a number one hit for Adele in 2011. It served as the first single on her Grammy-award winning album, 21. The song has spurred countless covers but this violin rendition might be the most unique yet. 

“The scars of your love remind me of us
They keep me thinking that we almost had it all
The scars of your love, they leave me breathless
I can't help feeling”

Today, Karolina Protsenko is putting her own spin on this iconic tune while entertaining passersby on the street. You may recognize Karolina from one of her many viral violin performances.

For years, she has shared her musical talents with the world through incredible covers such as ‘Hallelujah’ and ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love.’ Karolina is truly a talented teen and the Internet seems to agree. With over 10 million views across social media, Karolina is making a name for herself as an artist on the rise.

Now, she’s performing the smash hit ‘Rolling In The Deep’ and it’s bringing in a huge crowd. On YouTube, she wrote “People were amazed. I hope you were amazed too.”

And people were certainly amazed. One viewer said, “Completely perfect, here the real talent is demonstrated simply a song, a violin and Karolina, that my friends is perfection.” 

Another remarked on her artistry. “A great artist not only is able to entertain the audience, she also can bring joy and inspiration to others.  You are a great model,  Karolina.” 

What a joy to watch this teen use her gifts and share them with the world!

Such a young girl has so much talent. In this video, a 7-year-old goes viral with a mesmerizing Balalaika performance. 

At the cue of the conductor, a precious little girl begins to play impressively. Anastasia Tyurina plays a Russian folk song, "Valenki." She not only hits the notes correctly, but she strategically finesses the strings with personality and poise. 

A balalaika is a stringed wooden instrument from Russia. The balalaika is in the lute family. This unique sound is very cheerful and fluid. It creates the sound of dance. 

As you watch this young girl, prepare to be amazed at her far above-average skill set. Anastasia is a complete prodigy. She plays with excellence and personality. At the end of the song, the orchestra finishes strong. 

The conductor helps guide the girl to the front so she can take a bow as the audience cheers. She bows and smiles so big, proud of her performance. This is one brave young one. 

Watching the skills of Anastasia reminds us of the amazing talents that God gave to King David. David was also a gifted musician who played the harp. David used his skills to glorify the Lord. God is our Creator and He made music. 

Anyone who witnesses or participates in the making of music is reminded of the complexity and beauty of our great God. It is truly amazing to hear such a God-given musical gift. It is intriguing because based on this girl’s age, she should not be able to play at such a high level, but our Lord is the Giver of all gifts for His glory.

“Whenever the spirit from God came on Saul, David would take up his lyre and play. Then relief would come to Saul; he would feel better, and the evil spirit would leave him.” 1 Samuel 16:23

In an epic audition video, we see heart and soul sung by a young woman. Self-proclaimed underdog Lady K wins over the judges with her Katy Perry cover.

At the start of this video, Lady K comes into the audition room. She is a beautiful young woman who comes in excited. She has cards for each of the judges. She tells them that she has something for them that they can open when they send her to “Hollywood or Hollyhood.” She kindly gives each judge a card. She shares that she was born in Montgomery and now lives in Tuskegee, Alabama, and gets a hug for that.

Lady K shares about growing up with a young single mom with no one to help. At one point her family lived in a shelter. She says that she is the oldest of five children. Unfortunately, her younger brother took his life and she tells of the difficulties that this has had on their family. They had to decide between paying rent or paying for a funeral. Lady K shares how she is auditioning to bring hope and joy to her family. 

Lady K says that it is a blessing to be there to sing. Her kindness shows through, but then she sings and it is spectacular. Her voice is rich, pure, and beautiful. All of the judges are in tears. They tell her that she reinvented the song. They tell her it is tremendous and honest. Lady K ends with southern hospitality giving thank you cards to the judges.

I love how Lady K takes hardship and does not let it hold her down. She goes and auditions and looks to the future. In Christ, we too can have a hope that never fails, knowing that Jesus is our Savior.
