God is a jealous God who says there shall be no other gods before him (Exodus 20). When a child of God exalts some other thing, such as material possessions, job, family or even ministry, it becomes another god. Seek the kingdom of God first, and he will be pleased.
Christians have been made more than conquerors through Christ Jesus. The word of God shows how to overcome hostility by letting Jesus fight the battles and carry the burdens. Believers are to imitate God in love and mercy.
